Abstract

Diabetic foot problems are still the cause of death in several developing countries and prevalence of diabetes mellitus is thought to increase in the next decade in several countries. Adult clients with diabetes mellitus are seen as individuals who have the ability to care for themselves to make ends meet, maintain health and prosper. The ability of self-care in patients with type II diabetes mellitus causes patients to be able make efforts to control type II DM so that this condition can reduce acute and chronic complications. The purpose of this study was to find out the factors that influence the independence of caring for the feet. Type of quantitative research, analytic design cross sectional approach. The samples was type II DM patients with inclusion criteria : willing to be respondents in the study and agreeing to informed consent, can be invited to communicate verbally and understand Indonesian, suffer from type 2 diabetes mellitus, have nut and are not experiencing diabetic foot ulcer and are still carry out their own activities. The number of samples was 36 respondents with purposive sampling technique. Data collection is done by distributing questionnaires to samples included in the work area of the Sukarame Health Center. The analysis carried out was univariate analysis, and multivariate analysis (logistic regression test). The results of the study with logistic regression test found that gender is the variable which is the most influential factor affecting the independence variable caring for the foot with a p value of 0.043. In an effort to improve the independence of foot care, it needs to be done gradually starting from regular education and being introduced early in patients with diabetes mellitus as an effort to prevent diabetic ulcers. In other than, that it needs motivation both the family and health workers to improve their ability to carry out self-care, especially in foot care.

Abstract

ABSTRAKAsam urat atau dalam bahasa medis dikenal sebagai hiperurisemia merupakan suatu penyakit yang kasusnya sering terjadi pada seseorang yang sudah lanjut usia. Asam urat menjadi salah satu penyakit yang bisa disebabkan karna proses penuaan selain juga karena adanya gangguan sirkulasi darah, gangguan pada persendian dan berbagai penyakit neoplasma lainnya. Hampir 8% orang yang berusia 50 tahun ke atas memiliki masalah asam urat dengan keluhan berupa nyeri sendi, pegal linu, dan nyeri yang dapat mengganggu aktivitas. Penanganan asam urat dapat dilakukan melalui terapi farmakologi / obat – obatan dan terapi non farmakologi. Akan tetapi, penanganan secara farmakologi pada lansia dalam jangka waktu yang cukup lama juga dapat berdampak terhadap masalah kesehatan lainnya terutama berkaitan dengan masalah ginjal. Penderita asam urat perlu memiliki pemahaman yang baik terkait masalah asam urat yang diderita, bagaimana upaya pengendaliannya, cara mendeteksi asam urat serta pengaturan gaya hidup terutama diit yang tepat bagi penderita asam urat. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah agar lansia mengetahui tentang asam urat mulai dari pengertian hingga pengendalian asam urat serta dapat memahami cara mendeteksi dini asam urat melalui gejala – gejala yang dialami. Kata kunci : asam urat; deteksi dini; pengendalian asam urat ABSTRACTGout or in medical language known as hyperuricemia is a disease that often occurs in elderly people. Gout is one of the diseases that can be caused due to the aging process as well as due to blood circulation disorders, disorders of the joints and various other neoplasms. Nearly 8% of people aged 50 years and over have gout problems with complaints of joint pain, aches and pains, that can interfere with activities. Treatment of gout can be done through pharmacological therapy / drugs and non-pharmacological therapy. However, pharmacological treatment in the elderly for a long period of time can also have an impact on other health problems, especially those related to kidney problems. Patients with gout need to have a good understanding of the gout problem they suffer, how to control it, how to detect gout and lifestyle settings, especially the right diet for gout sufferers. The purpose of this community service is so that the elderly know about gout from understanding to controlling gout and can understand how to detect gout early through the symptoms experienced. Keywords: gout; early detection; control of gout
