Abstract

The potential possessed by SIMBAT Agro Tourism is huge, the land is wide enough with a land area of around 7 hectares, the charm of attractive mountain nature attractions such as tourist spots in Batu city with access close to the Jember city area, the community environment is very supportive, and human resources enough available to make this Agrotourism very potential to be developed. But behind the great potential of SIMBAT Agrotourism, its development is still not optimal. Seeing the potential and various benefits of the development of SIMBAT Agro-tourism, as well as seeing the condition of agro-tourism that still has not made the main strategic priorities that must be done, and the Agro-tourism design has not been made in accordance with the needs and desires of tourists. Therefore the purpose of this study is to find a strategy towards the development of SIMBAT agro-tourism in Jember Regency. The analytical methods used in this study are IFE, EFE, IE, SWOT, QSPM, and QFD. The results of the study based on QSPM analysis the priority strategy is Optimizing excellence by improving the quality of service to consumers. The QFD analysis obtained attributes of tourist needs that become the top priority seen from the level of importance is cleanliness and beauty of the tourist environment, while the service attribute which is the top priority seen from the level of importance "systematic, continuous HR training, and improvement of the HR work system "The results of the analysis of the two QSPM and QFD analysis tools are very related. Optimizing excellence by improving the quality of service to consumers (QSPM analysis results) can be done by meeting the needs of tourists who are the top priority, i.e. the cleanliness and beauty of the tourism environment (QFD analysis results), and their main application must be done with services that are the top priority in terms of their importance, namely systematic, continuous human resource training, and improvement of the HR work system. With solid human resources and competent skills, it can improve optimizing excellence by increasing the quality of service to consumers.

Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze the condition and governance value chain of kangkong in Ewindo, especially in seed production so that the area of constraints can be identified and raises opportunities for upgrading. The objectives of this study include: 1) conducting value chain mapping, 2) analyzing water spinach seed production business, 3) knowing value chain governance, and 4) developing improvement strategies. This is descriptive research by using value chain analysis, value chain governance analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and upgrading strategy. The results show that the value chain governance between Ewindo and farmers is captive, where Ewindo as the lead company is required to have ethical leadership to ensure that farmers receive fair and equal treatment. By the highest benefit-cost ratio 1.63, generally, the contract farming is profitable, except in the new region (Tuban) that the farmers still need to improve their cultivation competencies. Some constraints in the value chain such as transportation facilities, product quality and weather, resulted both economic and social upgrading opportunities, i.e.: product quality improvement through product quality training; the provision of large-capacity and routine transportation; scheduled field schools for new farmers; and increasing strong social relationship with the farmers through family gatherings, achievement awards and initiation of climate index-based insurance.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the formulation of the cheapest alternative dairy rations and analyze the income and cost-efficiency of Bestcow Farm Jember. This research was conducted at Bestcow Farm Jember. The research location was chosen using purposive sampling with the consideration that Bestcow Farm has a fairly large population of dairy cattle, 50 heads. The research parameters taken were alternative ration formulations, income analysis, and cost-efficiency. This research used a descriptive method based on the results of data collection obtained from direct interviews with company employees and Bestcow Farm recording. The alternative ration formulation 2 was an alternative formulation ration with the cheapest price. This alternative ration formulation was feasible to be applied to Bestcow Farm Jember to get higher income.
