Abstract

Introduction: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) implementation is not optimal. There is no evaluation regarding CPD implementation by nurses in RSUD R.A. Kartini, Jepara Regency. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of PKB by nurses in RSUD R.A. Kartini, Jepara Regency.Methods: This study used quantitative research design using descriptive studies. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with 169 respondents. Data collection used a questionnaire containing 55 question items from Indonesian National Nurses Association.Results: Description of CPD by nurses at R.A. Kartini Hospital in Jepara Regency are as follows: professional practice activities (100%), scientific activities (94.67%), scientific development activities (26.62%), and community service activities (71%).  Conclusion: Based on the research results, nurses should optimize themselves in various aspects of the form of CPD activities so that it can fulfill the achievement of 25 credits in five years while increasing the self-development of nurses.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Pelaksanaan sistem jenjang karir memacu profesi perawat untuk meningkatkan kualitas diri sesuai dengan peminatan masing-masing. Hal ini akan menstimulasi perawat untuk dapat memberikan pelayanan keperawatan yang optimal. Namun demikian ada perawat yang belum berpendapat tentang pelaksanaan dan prosesnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi perawat dalam pelaksanaan pengembangan jenjang karir.Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan rancangan penelitian adalah survei. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perawat RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang, dari berbagai jenjang karir perawat di unit pelayanan rawat inap. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 90 perawat dengan teknik pengambilan sampel propotionate stratified random sampling.Simpulan: Penelitian menunjukkan persepsi perawat secara keseluruhan persepsi perawat dalam pelaksanaan pengembangan jenjang karir perawat sebagian besar adalah cukup baik sebanyak 67,8%. meliputi persepsi pelaksanaan pendaftaran 78,9% cukup baik, persepsi pelaksanaan penilaian kompetensi sebesar 75,6% cukup baik, persepsi pemberian rekomendasi sebagian besar cukup baik sebesar 66,7% persepsi pemberian jenjang karir baru sebanyak 73,3% cukup baik.Saran untuk rumah sakit khususnya menyiapkan sistem jenjang karir perawat berdasarkan kompetensi yang meliputi alur, model, uji kompetensi dengan cara memberikan informasi yang jelas dan mudah di pahami oleh perawat. Kata kunci: Jenjang karir, perawat

Abstract

Patient safety is a global issue and a top priority in hospitals. Incidence of unexpected events varies significantly in Indonesia. Nurses’ compliance is an essential factor in the successful implementation of patient safety policies in hospitals. This study aimed to determine the factors influencing nurses’ compliance with patient safety policies in inpatient units of Dr. Kariadi general hospital, Semarang. This study employed a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The samples were 220 staff nurses recruited using a proportional random sampling technique. The data were collected using a questionnaire developed by the researchers and analyzed using the univariate analysis, Chi-Square test, and multivariate multiple logistic regression test. Results of the bivariate analysis showed that there were effects of supervision (p=0.038; OR=1.828), the character of authority figures (p=0.001; OR=2.648), and non-compliant colleagues (p=0.0001; OR=2.899) on nurses’ compliance with patient safety policies. However, gender (p=0.691), working environment (p=0.891), and contradictory orders (p=0.243) were found to have no effects on nurses’ compliance with patient safety policies. Results of multivariate analysis using a multiple logistic regression analysis showed that non-compliant colleagues were the most influential factor of nurses’ compliance with patient safety policies in the hospital. There were effects of supervision, the character of authority figures, and non-compliant colleagues on nurses’ compliance with patient safety policies. In contrast, gender, working environment, and contradictory orders showed no effects on nurses’ compliance. Non-compliant colleagues had the most effect on nurses’ compliance.

Abstract

Nurse retention is a process that refers to the ability of an organization to maintain nurses within a maximum period of time. This hospital has a high nurse retention rate with a turnover rate of 7% in the past year. This study aims to determine the description of nurse retention. This research was a quantitative descriptive study with a survey approach. The research sample consisted of 110 executing nurses of a hospital in Semarang. The research instrument used a questionnaire with 18 questions. The results show that nurse retention on the autonomy and freedom dimensions are considered good by 92.7% nurses, the dimensions of work compatibility factors is considered good by 84.5% nurses, the dimensions of work support and recognition are considered good by 76.4% nurses, compensation dimensions and career growth are considered good by 75.5% nurses, and organizational culture dimensions are considered good by 51.8% nurses. It is suggested that the hospital to be more open to receive suggestions for improving services in order to increase nurse retention.

Abstract

A handover is an application form for improving effective communication which is part of the patient safety goal. Ineffective handover has been shown to increase the risk of preventable side effects, length of stay and rates of complications. High patient mobilization, a lot of time taken, and increased workload are reasons why nurses do not have time for handover. While the ER Nurses are also required to develop, improve their knowledge and skills to improve quality services in line with the technological development of the era industrial revolution 4.0. The objective of this review to identify efforts for improving quality of handover in Emergency Departement in accordance with the development of the industrial revolution era 4.0. This review source search through CINAHL Ebsco, Science Direct, and pubmed from 2010 to 2019, in English, and full text. Searching keywords are Improvemenr, Quality Handover, Technology, and Emergency Department. From this literature review, it was found that efforts to improve quality of handover in the emergency departement included the establishment of appropriate communication / protocol tools / frameworks, developing multi-disciplinary teams, recognizing the influence of culture and implementing training. These efforts cannot be separated, all are interrelated to realize quality handover. Facing the digital revolution 4.0 based on Cyber Physical Systems in the health sector, improving quality handover may use electronic communication framework. Materials handover is using patient data in the medical record (RM) or electronic medical record (ERM). Electronic Handover tool aswer the challenges for facing the digital revolution 4.0. Efforts to improve the quality of handover in the emergency department are established effective communication tools / frameworks, Multidicipline Team meetings, training / coaching and recognizing cultural influences.

Abstract

Kepatuhan perawat dalam pencegahan pasien jatuh sangat diperlukan untuk meminimalkan terjadinya kejadian yang tidak diinginkan di rumah sakit. Rendahnya kepatuhan perawat akan menyebabkan kejadian pasien jatuh yang dapat disertai cedera. Upaya untuk meningkatkan kepatuhan perawat dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknologi informasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem informasi untuk meningkatkan kepatuhan perawat dalam pencegahan pasien jatuh. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pengembangan sistem informasi pencegahan pasien jatuh (SIPENJA) sebagai inovasi untuk meningkatkan kepatuhan perawat dalam pencegahan pasien jatuh.

Abstract

The results of the preliminary study indicated that the implementation of nursing credentials and recredentials by the credentials subcommittee in the hospital was not optimal. Not many studies had investigated  the problems that caused the implementation of nursing credentials and recredentials was not optimal. This research was very important to do to  explore more deeply about the problems that caused the credentials subcommittee  was not optimally  in the implementation of nursing credentials and recredentials. To explore the implementation of nursing credentials and recredentials by the credentials subcommittee in hospital. This study used a case study method. This study used a nonprobability sampling method with a purposive sampling approach. The research participants were three stakeholders in the hospital. Data collection methods with documentation and interviews. Data analysis method according to Miles and Huberman. The results of data analysis obtained four themes: The process of implementing credentials and recredentials through training, OSCA exams and mentoring, has not used OPPE and FPPE, has not been carried out regularly, the organisation is carried out after the nurse is accepted. The implementation of the results of nursing credentials and recredentials has no reward and punishment, not one perception with staffing, in nursing practice has not been detailed and has not been used in determining nurse incentives. Obstacles in the implementation of credentials and recredentials are the nursing committee structure that serves in other functional areas, there is no one perception about the implementation of nursing credentials and recredentials with management, Covid 19 pandemic, and the application of clinical authority. Efforts to overcome obstacles by approaching management, using credentials results to determine nurse incentives, socialization to nurses and management as well as coordinating and cooperating with other sections Conclusion: There are barriers in the implementation of nursing credentials and recredentials. Efforts are needed to overcome obstacles in the implementation of nursing credentials and recredentials.
