Abstract

Sport is one of the most important needs for humans. Gogik Village is one of the villages where people are classified as fond of sports. However, one of the obstacles faced by Gogik Village is the absence of a standardized sports hall that can be used to facilitate activities for the people of Gogik Village. This is the background of this community service activity to help the people of Gogik Village in planning the design of a sports building (GOR) which can later be used as one of the village facilities. Based on the survey results, it was found that the needs of the people of Gogik Village for a sports building (GOR) which at least can be used as a volleyball court, basketball and futsal court. With reference to this as well as the availability of land and applicable regulations, it is determined that the design of the sports building in Gogik village will be included in the type C classification by referring to SNI 03-3647-1994.

Abstract

Gogik village is one of villages in sub-district of Ungaran Barat, district of Semarang. Nowadays, Gogik village attemps to develop its nature potencies which is one of them is the area of embung Sokapanca. A design recommendation was proposed by the study programme of Civil Infrastructure Engineering and Architectural Design, Department of Civil and Planning, Vocational School, Diponegoro University, through a community service programme. The design approach used exotic, unique, and authentic as the concept. Neo-vernacular and contemporary architecture were adopted for the design of culinary hut and the centre of Small and Medium Enterprises. The concept of sustainable tourism will be implemented to maintain the harmony with the environment, nature, humanism value, and local wisdom.

Abstract

A mosque or masjid is a place for muslims to pray. At-Taqwa mosque is the mosque of Galeh village and its existence is important for the villagers. However, due to many defects (damages) and limited capacity, the number of visitors is decreasing. A design recommendation was proposed by the study programme of Civil Infrastructure Engineering and Architectural Design, Department of Civil and Planning, Vocational School, Diponegoro University, through a community service programme. Using neo-vernacular concept design, five primary aspects were performed i.e. combining the concept of local roof and dome, applying symmetrical patterns for the façade, using roosters as wall opening in order to create geometrical patterns, adding the mosque’s tower, and terras that surrounding the mosque
