Abstract

One of the efforts that became the target of development in the community by the Simpang Rimba district is chicken and duck farms. This is supported by the large availability of plants that will be used as animal feed such as cassava and taro stalk. However, currently the process of making animal feed is still done manually that is chopped by using a knife or a machete so that the time taken is long and the resulting capacity is limited. The purpose of science and technology for the community of chicken and duck breeders is to increase the production capacity of animal feed up to 100% and the uniformity of the cultivated product increases 100%. The method of implementation used in this service is to make a machine of cattle feed after doing a short training on the operation and maintenance of machinery to partners. Based on the results obtained the use of cassava chopper machine and taro stalk can increase the production process 40 kg within 30 minutes and the thickness of cassava size obtained an average of 2-7 mm so that the percentage of countable can be consumed 100% increase.

Abstract

The benchmark for the results of the machining process can be seen from the results of the products, one of which is the level of surface smoothness. The purpose of this experimental research is to find out how much cutting speed (Vc) and depth of cutting produce a workpiece with the smoothest level of surface roughness for the turning process carried out by students at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic Workshop. This research is using experimental method. The cutting speeds (Vc) used were 23 m/min, 24 m/min, 25 m/min, the cutting depths used were 0.5 mm, 0.8 mm, and 1.0 mm and the feeding speed was set at 0.040 mm/rev. The results showed that the best turning results using a cutting speed (Vc) of 23 m/min was using a cutting depth of 0.5 mm with a roughness value (Ra) of 1.372 m, using a cutting speed (Vc) of 24 m/min using a depth of cut. 0.5 mm with a roughness value (Ra) of 1.189 m and using a cutting speed (Vc) of 25 m/min using a depth of 0.5 mm with a surface roughness value (Ra) of 3.14 m. The lowest value for the level of surface roughness of the turning process was obtained using a cutting speed (Vc) of 24 m/min with a depth of 0.5 mm with a surface roughness value (Ra) of 1.189 m.

Abstract

In the machining process is very need high precision to get a good result. One of the benchmarks of the quality of the surface of the product workmanship in the machining process is surface roughness. The research was aimed at determining the contribution of the parameters of the machining process conducted on lathes. The research was conducted using lathes with machining process parameters that vary from cutting speed, and depth of nutrition, as well as using fixed parameters of feeding. The experiment was conducted using experimental method with the amount of cutting speed value (Vc) used by St 41 material of 20-25 m/min. The values used in this study were limited to 20, 21, and 22 m/min (Vc) values and cutting depths of 0.5, 0.8, and 1.0 mm. Research shows the results of turning (Vc) 20 m / min. best depth using a cutting depth of 0.5 mm with a surface roughness value (Ra) of 2,743 μm, and (Vc) of 21 m/min, the best depth using a depth of 0.5 mm with a surface roughness value (Ra)1,495 μm, and using (Vc) 22 m/min, the best depth uses a depth of 0.8 mm with a surface roughness value (Ra)1,376 μm. the best value of the turning process uses 3 cutting speeds and 3 cutting depths at the turning process using (Vc) 22 m/min with a depth of 0.8 mm with a surface roughness value (Ra)1,376 μm

Abstract

A good level of surface roughness as one of the benchmarks for turning the workpiece is said to be of high quality. As a cutting tool, lathe chisels need free angles and exhaust angles according to the desired specifications. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the size of the tool angle and how much free angle and exhaust angle are best used on the surface roughness of St 41 steel. The study was conducted using a lathe brand Bemato series 44376 with process parameters consisting of a spindle speed of 280 m /min, the infeed depth is 0.8 mm, and the infeed speed is 0.040 mm/rev. The research method used is an experimental method and the results of the turning process are measured the level of surface roughness using a surface roughness tester. Based on the results of the specimen measurements, it is found that there are differences in surface roughness produced by variations in the free angle (α) and exhaust angle (β). As for the lowest roughness value of the whole specimen turning process is in the turning process with variations in angle 6° and angle sudut 10° with a surface roughness value (Ra) of 2,555 m.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti pengaruh fraksi serat filter rokok terhadap kekuatan tarik dan impak pada matrik polister. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan fraksi volume matriks dan serat 60% : 40%, 55% : 45%, 50% : 50%. Bahan yang digunakan serat filter rokok (selulosa astetat). Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah uji Tarik sesuai standart ASTM D-638, uji impak sesuai standar  ASTM D 256-00 dan hasil patahan rata-rata yang paling maksimal pada komposit berpenguat serat filter rokok dengan fraksi matriks dan serat 60% : 40%. Pada uji tarik didapatilah nilai 14,10 Mpa dan pada uji impak mendapatkan hasil 0.0139 (J/ mm²). Hal ini disebabkan karena campuran yang tercampur dengan sempurna dan menutup pori-pori pada serat sehingga membuat material menjadi lebih kuat. Sedangkan pada campuran matrik dan serat 50% : 50% pada pengujian tarik atau impak pendapat nilai paling kecil, yang diakibatkan oleh campuran yang tidak merata dan menyebabkan pori-pori serat tidak tercampur dengan baik.

Abstract

This Community Service activity in the business of making peanut crackers in MSME "SURTAM" aims to improve one of the existing production stages, namely the manufacture of coconut milk. The process of making coconut milk carried out by partners is still traditional which causes the energy used to be quite large and takes a long time. This causes the production of peanut brittle has not been maximized. The method used to solve production problems is to design and manufacture a coconut milk squeezer machine. After that, partners are given training on how to use and maintain the machine in order to carry out maximum production. The benefit of this activity is the synergy between universities and local industries related to the application of appropriate technology that can be used directly by MSME actors in their production activities. There is an increase in the production capacity of partners, especially at the stage of making coconut milk, where before community service activities, the time needed by partners to squeeze the grated 6 coconuts for approximately 1 hour, and after the activity becomes approximately 15 minutes. In addition, partners already have the knowledge and skills in operating and caring for coconut milk extortion machines used in the peanut butter production process.

Abstract

Saat ini teknologi di dunia industri manufaktur telah mengalami kemajuan yang sangat pesat salah satunya adalah 3D printing. 3D printing merupakan salah satu teknologi yang mengubah data digital menjadi objek 3D dengan menggunakan proses Additive manufacturing pada saat memproduksi suatu produk. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh infill pattern dan nozzle temperature terhadap kekuatan tarik produk 3D printing dengan orientasi sudut pencetakan vertikal sebesar 90° mengggunakan filamen polylactic acid (PLA). Pada penelitian material polylactic acid (PLA) akan dicetak sesuai dengan standar uji tarik ASTM D638-14 Type 4. Variasi parameter proses yang digunakan pada infill pattern berupa lines, cubic, cubic division, quarter cubic, grid, octet, concentric, zig zag, tri hexagon, triangles, gyroid, cross dan cross 3D dan nilai dari nozzle temperature yang digunakan sebesar 205°C, 215°C, dan 225°C. Pada penelitian menunjukan bahwa bahwa infill pattern dan nozzle temperature memiliki pengaruh terhadap kekuatan tarik produk 3D printing dengan orientasi sudut pencetakan vertikal sebesar 0° menggunakan filamen polylactic acid (PLA) Nilai kekuatan tarik tertinggi yang terdapat pada penelitian ini sebesar 42,5 MPa yang menggunakan infill pattern dengan tipe zig zag dan nozzle temperature sebesar 205°C. Abstract

Material development is expected to increase efficiency in the field of engineering, judging from the current good material is a material that meets several main standards such as composites. Composite is a material consisting of a mixture of two or more main elements, and composites have a light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance and cheaper price. Presearch aims to find out the effect of variations in volume fraction and length of difference in immersion ofsugarcane fiber using NaOH solution against tensile strength and impact, so that it can be used as potential information about fiber. Sugarcane that can produce a new quality material. The study used variations in volume fractions of 10%, 15% and 20% as well as the length of immersion using NaOH for 30, 60 and 90 minutes. From the tests that have been done, the highest average tensile test value is in the volume fraction of 15% and the length of NaOH treatment of 60 minutes is 36.73MPa and the lowest average value is in the volume fraction of 20% and the length of NaOH treatment is 90 minutes by 21.16 MPa. The maximum average value on the impact test is at a volume fraction of 20% and the length of naOH treatment of 60 minutes is 0.07290 joules / mm², and the average minimum value is in the volume fraction of 10% and the length of naOH treatment is 90 minutes by 0.02849 joules / mm².

Abstract

Peyek is one of the typical Javanese snacks made from rice flour dough made from peanuts and other ingredients. The results of a survey that was carried out at Mr. Cahyo's residence were slicing 3 kg of peanuts per three days which was carried out with two slicing processes to obtain small slices. The obstacle faced by Mr. Cahyo is the slicing of peanuts which still uses manual tools from wood, where on the big day Mr. Cahyo requires 100 kg of peanuts to be sliced, so it takes a lot of time to finish. The purpose of the design of this peanut slicing machine is to produce thick slices with a size of 3-5 mm in one slicing process. The stages of implementing this final project consist of stages of data collection, planning, calculation analysis, manufacturing process, assembly process, and conducting trials. The result of the design of this machine is that the dimensions of the machine are 300×300×405 mm, and from the trial of this peanut slicing machine, the results are 3-5 mm thick slices, and the data obtained for slicing 500 grams of peanuts takes about 1 minute.

Abstract

The need for feed is very important for breeder, especially for chicken and catfish breeders in Indonesia with rapid development, for example breeders in Bangka Belitung to be precise in Sempan village. The high price of feed makes breeders process their own feed simply. In processing, breeders mice and mix the raw materials manually by hand and then ferment then overnight. From these problems, breeders need a machine that can refine feed raw material into one form of feed that is easily digested for livestock, such as pellets. Currently the processing of feed in the form of pellets can be used as an option. Therefore , a design and manufacture of a pellet molding machine was made for chicken and catfish feed with capacity of 10 kg/hour. The design method used in completing this final project is Verein Deutsche Ingineuer (VDI 2222) where this method is planned so that the actions taken are more directed and achieve the expected targets. Based on results of this design, a pellet molding machine design for chicken and catfish feed was obtained using electric motor with a power of 0.5 HP and rotation speed 1400 rpm with pulley and v-belt transmission and horizontal engine system using a screw as suppressor. From the trial results, the machine was able to print pellets with a diameter of 3 mm and 5 mm with capacity of 10 kg/hour.
