Abstract

Pemenuhan kebutuhan karyawan saat bekerja erat kaitannya dengan quality of work life atau kualitas kehidupan kerja. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi quality of work life maka akan semakin tinggi work engagement atau sebaliknya, semakin rendah quality of work life maka akan semakin rendah work engagement.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of learning motivation and mathematical self-efficacy on students' critical thinking skills in an ethnomathematics-based learning context. A quantitative correlational design was employed. The sample consisted of 34 eighth-grade students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire, a mathematical self-efficacy questionnaire, and a critical thinking test designed based on culturally contextualized mathematical problems. Data were analyzed using regression and path analysis. The results show that mathematical self-efficacy has a significant positive effect on students' critical thinking skills (β = 0.550, p < 0.05), while learning motivation does not have a significant direct effect (β = 0.237, p > 0.05). Simultaneously, learning motivation and self-efficacy significantly influence critical thinking skills, with a coefficient of determination of 0.464. This indicates that these variables can explain 46.4% of the variance in critical thinking skills within an ethnomathematics-based learning environment. These findings suggest that students' confidence in their mathematical abilities plays a more dominant role than motivation in supporting critical thinking, particularly when engaging with culturally contextualized mathematical tasks. Ethnomathematics-based learning provides meaningful contexts that enhance engagement; however, its effectiveness in fostering higher-order thinking depends largely on students' self-efficacy. This study highlights the importance of integrating culturally responsive approaches in mathematics education while simultaneously strengthening students' self-efficacy to optimize the development of critical thinking.

Abstract

In the digital age, when access to knowledge is widespread, many assume that society will become more logical, critical, and objective, thereby reducing the glorification of public figures. In fact, glorification has found an even broader place in the digital age. Although there are many public opinions and media reports about the glorification of political figures, systematic studies to understand this phenomenon are very limited. This study aims to analyze the glorification of political figures on social media using sentiment analysis. A total of 8,000 tweets were analyzed. The results show that the majority of tweets contain positive sentiments, namely 4,200 tweets or 52.5% of the total data, indicating the glorification of political figures. The glorification found was Overgeneralization (22%), Hero Worship (15%), and Dismissive of Criticism (12%). The glorification patterns that often appear were not based on objective facts, where political figures were positioned as ideal figures beyond criticism. This study contributes to the study of political psychology and public communication in the digital age, particularly regarding how emotions influence the image of political figures. This study highlights the importance of improving digital literacy and critical thinking in order to filter content that contains excessive adoration of political figures, which can have a negative impact on social cohesion, the quality of democracy, and public accountability

Abstract

Background: The internet is playing an increasingly important role as a learning resource. However, widespread access does not guarantee its effective use for learning. Previous studies have highlighted the role of curiosity in information seeking and the adoption of learning technologies, but empirical evidence that explicitly models curiosity as a predictor of internet use as a learning resource is still limited. Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of curiosity on internet utilization as a learning resource. Method: This study uses a quantitative cross-sectional design and involves 96 students selected through random sampling techniques. Curiosity scales and an internet utilization as a learning resource scale were analyzed using linear regression. Data were collected using a curiosity scale and an internet utilization as a learning resource scale, and analyzed using linear regression. Results: The findings show that curiosity influences the use of the internet as a learning resource (R² = 0.171). The regression model is statistically significant and suitable for predicting the use of the internet as a learning resource based on curiosity, with an F value of 19.382 and significance of 0.000 (p < 0.005). The findings confirm that curiosity is a contextual predictor and emphasize the importance of learning designs that encourage epistemic curiosity to support optimal, reflective, and responsible internet use.
