Abstract

This documentary film entitled Perkampungan Adat Nagari Sijunjung (Traditional Village of Nagari Sijunjung) is trying to show the reality about the condition of the gadang house nowadays. This film was created with an expository documentary style, which uses the narrator as a single speaker. This documentary film describes one area that still maintains ‘gadang’ houses like their original functions, namely daily and customary functions. The daily function of the ‘gadang’ house is as a place to accommodate the daily activities of its inhabitants, as is usually the case with residential houses. While the traditional function of the ‘gadang’ house is the main house owned by a family belonging to a certain tribe. As the main house, the ‘gadang’ house is a place for traditional ceremonies and other importantevents from a large family of homeowners or fellow brothers of the same tribe.

Abstract

Experimental Film “Sweet Ravana” is a film artwork that raises about human nature that is translated through puppet approach. To realize the character in accordance with one of the human traits that exist in the puppet characters namely Ravana. Where Ravana is a figure of evil and always thirsty for power. In a movie there are some messages to be conveyed by the author. The message to be conveyed apart from the narrative aspect also through the cinematic aspect. In the experimental film "Sweet Ravana" this message to be conveyed made through shot attraction. Two previously unrelated shots then after going through the alignment process then generate a new meaning. The series of compositions of shots on the film is then the visual structure. Sintagmatik and paradigmatik is a theory that can be used to study the visual structure that exist in the experimental film "Sweet Ravana" with the aim to know the structure of the visual on the process jukstaposisi types of shot selection and editing.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran tim lokasi dalam menunjang keberhasilan produksi film Menuju Pelaminan. Tim lokasi merupakan bagian integral dari proses produksi film yang memiliki tanggung jawab dalam pengelolaan tempat pengambilan gambar, koordinasi lapangan, serta hubungan sosial dengan masyarakat di area produksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode observasi langsung dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tim lokasi memiliki peran strategis dalam tiga tahap utama produksi, yaitu pra-produksi, produksi, dan pasca-produksi. Pada tahap pra-produksi, tim lokasi berperan dalam menentukan lokasi syuting, mengurus perizinan, dan menyiapkan logistik. Pada tahap produksi, mereka mengatur jalannya kegiatan di lapangan agar sesuai dengan rencana kerja. Sedangkan pada tahap pasca-produksi, tim lokasi memastikan pemulihan lokasi serta penyelesaian administrasi. Keberhasilan produksi film Menuju Pelaminan tidak terlepas dari profesionalitas, komunikasi, dan kemampuan adaptasi tim lokasi dalam mengatasi berbagai kendala di lapangan.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini dilakasnakan untuk Mata Kuliah Riset dan Pengembangan Profesi merupakan program pembelajaran lapangan yang bertujuan memberikan pengalaman kerja nyata kepada mahasiswa sesuai bidang keahliannya. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan penulis di Banyumili Sound Servis Jakarta, sebuah tim profesional yang bergerak di bidang penataan suara film. Selama dua bulan, penulis terlibat dalam produksi film Love Therapy yang disutradarai oleh Ody C. Harahap dan diproduksi oleh MD Pictures. Dalam proyek tersebut, penulis menjalankan tugas sebagai Sound Utility dengan tanggung jawab utama memasang perangkat wireless, melakukan pengecekan kualitas audio, serta menyusun sound report selama proses produksi berlangsung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peran Sound Utility memiliki kontribusi penting dalam menjaga kualitas suara dan kelancaran kerja tim audio di lapangan. Program ini memberikan pengalaman profesional yang relevan bagi mahasiswa dalam memahami proses teknis dan kolaboratif dalam produksi film.

Abstract

The creation of this Final Project entitled "Ekplorasi Constructive Editing pada Film Batapatih " is a form of accountability for the achievement of an audio visual that applies the concept of Constructive Editing, how is the placement of two shots that have no relationship but produce new meanings and give the impression that the audience not only believes but also feel the atmosphere. This means that when watching a film, the audience doesn't just stop at just getting information, but also builds up emotional aspects. The object of the creation of this Batapatih film is a child who lacks the warmth and love of his family so when he is at home the child receives warmth and affection from the people he meets. This becomes a phenomenon of how an environment can affect the character of a child. Through this work, it provides a spectacle that can build people's way of thinking in forming character towards children.

Abstract

The Jambi Sultanate was one of the Malay sultanates that played a significant role in the history of the Indonesian archipelago; however, its existence has been nearly forgotten from the collective memory of the Jambi people due to a 117-year power vacuum following the death of Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin in 1904 and the formal dissolution of the sultanate by Dutch colonial authorities in 1906. This historical void subsequently gave rise to conflict in the form of illegitimate sultan claimants whose actions caused harm to indigenous communities. The documentary film Kesultanan Jambi, Titah dan Singgasana (The Jambi Sultanate: Royal Decree and the Throne) was created to address these issues while presenting their resolution through a rigorous academic research process that successfully identified the original royal regalia and confirmed Sultan Sayyid Fuad Abdurrahman as the legitimate 21st heir of the Jambi Sultanate, who was formally installed through a traditional enthronement ceremony on 28 July 2022. The expository mode was chosen for its capacity to deliver historical information in a structured and argumentative manner through voice of God narration, which functions simultaneously as an introducer, an informer, and an interpreter, while academic sources serve as scientific validators of the narrative's claims. This 21-minute-7-second film is intended to serve as an educational medium for the people of Jambi, particularly the younger generation, regarding the history and cultural identity of the Jambi Sultanate in the present day.
