Piper betle Linn or betel is a plant that is known to have antiseptic properties. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of betel leaf extract (Piper betle Linn.) On Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. The method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design experimental design (CRD) using 2 methods, namely reflux and maceration methods, respectively. Each concentration of betel leaf extract (Piper betle L) which consists of one factor, namely the concentration of betel leaf extract (Piper betle L) with a variable factor level of betel leaf extract preparations of six treatments, positive, negative control and treatment 1%, 2%, 4% and 8%. By using betel leaf extract, 70% Methanol, distilled water and antibiotics. The results of the study the value of 1.650> 0.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as the center of world biodiversity. One of this diversity is endemic flora. Regular maintenance and protection or preservation of endemic flora to prevent or avoid damage and extinction can be done through conservation. The subjects of this program are grade 7 students. At this level, children tend to be able to understand and start thinking critically and logically, so it is hoped that the message given can be conveyed well. Based on the results of the socialization that had been carried out, it was found that there was an increase in knowledge about endemic and rare flora in Indonesia which must be protected and preserved, in other words the socialization carried out was successful in increasing students' knowledge. It is hoped that this increased understanding can encourage students to play a more active role in environmental conservation activities, both in the school environment and in the community. This electronic document is a “live” template. The various components of your paper [title, text, tables, figures and references] are already defined on the style sheet, as illustrated by the portions given in this document.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as one of the countries with a wealth of endemic flora and fauna. However, threats to the survival of endemic species such as habitat destruction, poaching, and climate change are increasing. Conservation efforts depend not only on government policies, but also on public awareness, especially the younger generation. This research aims to increase the understanding of students at SMP Negeri 9 Langsa about the importance of preserving rare endemic fauna through a socialization program. The evaluation design of the socialization activities carried out is by using research instruments in the form of pre-test and post-test questions. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the level of understanding of students about the importance of endemic fauna conservation, measured through pre-test and post-test. In addition, this activity also succeeded in fostering students' sense of responsibility for environmental conservation. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test t tests, it was found that there was a significant effect between the pre-test and post-test results. The t value of 15.688, df of 24, and Sig (2-tailed) value < 0.001 (p < 0.05) indicate a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results. Therefore, after the proposed hypothesis is tested against the data, it can be concluded that the level of understanding of students in the introduction of rare endemic fauna in Indonesia has a significant effect or has increased.
