Abstract

One of the critical processes when fabricating offshore is the process of transferring the offshore module (Top Side) from the top of the jetty to the transportation barge or often called the process Load Out. One of the analyzes needed to ensurethe processing load out runs smoothly and safely is the analysis of the strength of the barge structure when the load out process occurs, which is checking the strength of the barge structure whether it is able to withstand the load topside when there is load transfer from the top of the jetty to transportation barge or from the edge of the barge to the final location. To get accurate results, the help of computer programs is used or often called the finite element method (Finite Element Analysis). The software used in this analysis is Staad Pro V8i with a three-module simulation experiment. From theanalysis it was concluded that the three module simulation simulations have a maximum value of von mises stress is 74.119 N / mm2, normal stress is 57.765 N / mm2, and shear stress is 0.02279 N / mm2, where all stress values are below the maximum limit required by the American Institute of Steel Construction ( AISC) so that the barge structure does not need to be given additional reinforcement both internally and externally because it is still safe and able to withstand the topside when loading. Analysis with SPMT has the potential to be a benchmark in analyzing the strength of the barge structure in the process of loading out the offshore module (top side).

Abstract

Corrosion is one of the most common causes of damage to mooring buoys due to oxidation on the surface of the steel plate. The purpose of this study was to determine the need and placement of cathodic protection as well as the costs involved in providing cathodic protection for mooring buoys using the rules of BKI (Indonesian Classification Bureau) and DNV (Det Norske Veritas Industry Norway). In the cathodic protection system, there are two methods of cathodic protection, namely Sacrificial Anode Cathodic Protection (SACP) and Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP). In this study, the Sacrificial Anode method was used because the installation is simpler so that it does not require special skills and the anode connector is cathodically protected. Mooring buoy 2.380 meters high, 3.200 meters in diameter with a cathodic protection design life of 5 years. The anode used in this study was a Longated flush-mounted Z9.0H1 (Welded Type) anode with dimensions of 355 x 85 x 45 mm. From the results of this study, the total anode mass needed to protect the mooring buoy is 48 kg with the distance between the anodes on the topside hull plate is 2.000 m and the hull bottom swim plate is 3.000 m and the estimated cost required in providing mooring buoy cathodic protection is Rp. 7,487,075.

Abstract

Shipbuilding in shipyards can’t be separated from uncertain risks that can occur, so it’s necessary to carry out a risk management analysis to minimize and take action so that risks can be avoided and overcome. Risk analysis can be carried out using consequence and probability matrix techniques, one of the risk management in SNI IEC/ISO 31010:2016 by combining the consequences and probability assessments to produce a risk level. Risk assessment is the overall process of hazard identification, risk analysis, and risk evaluation. The purpose of this study was to identify hazards in new building works and determine the magnitude of the level of consequences and probability of a risk arising by using consequence and probability matrix techniques and determining the proper risk treatment or mitigation. The benefit of this study is to find out the various hazards and risk level categories using consequence and probability matrix techniques, as well as being a reference in treating or mitigating work accident risks on new building works in shipyards. The results showed that there were 14 hazards from 3 series of activity that is plate cutting, welding, and lifting. Risk analysis is obtained from the mode or the highest value in the probability assessment with the highest mode or value in the consequence assessment based on the respondent’s answer. The risk scale from the risk analysis shows that there’s a moderate level of risk (priority III), low risk (priority IV), and very low risk (priority V) in new building work at PT. Industri Kapal Indonesia. Treatment or mitigation of risk that can be carried out is to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), periodic maintenance of equipment, completing safety signs in the field, and working according to the applicable SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence has experienced significant improvements, including its use in sustainable maritime security. Offloading oil from FPSO to tankers can potentially lose cargo due to sabotage from fraudulent parties. Even though international laws and regulations have been enacted, this potential cannot be controlled. Various approaches and researchers have used Artificial Intelligence in the maritime aspect, but they have yet to discuss it from the perspective of cargo loss. The application of intelligent technology in the offloading process aims to create an integrated and coordinated system of parties involved in oil shipping operations using tankers. Therefore, a systematic review of Artificial Intelligence was conducted to find a solution from the perspective of load loss due to sabotage in the oil offloading process. Overall, we find that the potential for oil sabotage always exists in delivering tankers from the FPSO to their destination. The Automatic Integrated System is the Artificial Intelligence most often used to control maritime security. Instead, we see a need for cloud computing, internet-of-things, and big data analytics, which play a critical role in maritime security today.
