Abstract

The advancement of information technology has driven an increased demand for competent software developers aligned with project specifications, making the selection process a strategic challenge for organizations. However, manual selection is often subjective, time-consuming, and prone to errors. Therefore, this study aims to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) based on the Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) method. WASPAS was chosen for its ability to integrate the strengths of the Weighted Sum Model (WSM) and Weighted Product Model (WPM) to produce decisions based on criteria weights and alternative performance. The system is designed as a web-based application to provide ease of access and usability, featuring key functionalities such as data management for criteria, alternatives, and values, as well as calculation and result presentation using the WASPAS method. The case study results indicate that Mochammad Rizal (A3) is the best alternative with the highest score of 0.8904, followed by Yosua Surojo (A4) with a score of 0.8718. Tommy Pratama (A2) ranks third with a score of 0.7101, while Gigih Prayitno (A1) occupies the last position with a score of 0.6713. System testing using the black-box testing method ensures that all features function according to the designed specifications. This study contributes a systematic solution to simplify the software developer selection process while reducing subjective bias in decision-making.

Abstract

In the evolving landscape of digital media, 2D animation has emerged as a dynamic tool for cultural preservation, particularly among university students who are increasingly engaging in creative practices that reflect their cultural identities. This study explores how cultural values are represented in local 2D animation works produced by Indonesian students. The research is grounded in the context of the rising importance of culturally informed media content as a means of transmitting tradition to younger audiences in the face of globalization. Employing a qualitative exploratory approach through literature study and content analysis, the research draws on primary data in the form of student-produced animations retrieved from digital platforms and portfolios, and secondary data from academic literature. The study focuses on visual and narrative elements such as costumes, symbols, traditional folklore, character design, and storyline themes that are embedded with local values. Findings reveal that while most student works demonstrate high motivation to preserve cultural heritage and communicate moral messages, there exists a significant variance in the depth of cultural representation. Elements like batik patterns, traditional dances, and folklore-based narratives are visually present, but often lack contextual integration or symbolic depth. Despite these limitations, some animations successfully blend tradition with contemporary issues such as environmental awareness and identity politics, reflecting critical engagement. The study underscores the importance of fostering cultural literacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and curriculum development in art and animation education to enhance cultural authenticity in student works.

Abstract

The increasing complexity of network security threats demands intrusion detection systems that are both contextual and adaptive. Conventional signature-based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) suffer from limitations in detecting emerging and previously unseen attack patterns, making machine learning–based approaches a more flexible alternative. However, fragmented packet-level feature representations still limit the ability of models to capture network behavior comprehensively. This study aims to evaluate the performance of boosting models, namely XGBoost and LightGBM, using the publicly available Cybersecurity Intrusion Detection Dataset from Kaggle, which represents network activity at the session level. The proposed approach develops a session-level feature representation based on aggregated and ratio-based features to capture network behavior characteristics more comprehensively. Experimental results demonstrate that the implementation of session-level feature representation yields consistent improvements across multiple evaluation metrics. Accuracy increased from 0.8779 to 0.8847, while the F1-score improved from 0.8452 to 0.8525 for XGBoost and from 0.8455 to 0.8523 for LightGBM. Furthermore, ROC-AUC increased from 0.8789 to 0.8844 for XGBoost and from 0.8793 to 0.8859 for LightGBM. Although the improvement in accuracy is relatively moderate, the gains in F1-score and ROC-AUC indicate enhanced discriminative capability and a better balance between precision and recall. The main contribution of this study lies in the integration of session-level feature engineering with boosting models within a systematic evaluation framework, emphasizing the critical role of behavioral feature representation in improving intrusion detection performance.
