Abstract

Covid-19 cases in the group of children in Indonesia are increasing, reaching around 11-12%. Covid-19 cases in children in Indonesia are the highest cases in the world. One of the efforts to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 in children is to increase immunity and health in children, which can be done by giving supplements to children. One of the factors that influence the provision of supplements to children is the mother's knowledge. This study uses quantitative analysis by analyzing the effect of the mother's level of knowledge about giving supplementation to children with supplementation to children. The subjects in this study were mothers who had children aged 0 months to 5 years. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, so the number of samples in this study was 107 mothers. The instrument in this study used a questionnaire in the form of a google form which had been tested for validity and reliability. The result of this study is the influence of a mother's knowledge on the provision of supplementation to children with a p-value of 0.004. So health workers, especially midwives, have an important role in providing information to mothers and families to maintain health during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is one of the countries with a high burden of malnutrition, including stunting. One preventive measure for stunting is the optimization of pre-pregnancy services (preconception). Preconception services, especially for prospective brides and grooms, aim to identify and modify biomedical, psychological, and social risks related to women's health and pregnancy conditions through an optimal early detection strategy. Current issues regarding stunting can indeed be prevented through optimal pregnancy and marriage planning. Therefore, a strategy is needed to develop comprehensive pre-marriage planning through premarital classes.Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of pre-marital education (PME) program for marriage readiness and stunting prevention to women of childbearing ageMethod: This research used a quantitative research design with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest approach. The instrument used a questionnaire on the physical, psychological, and social readiness of premarital individuals that had been tested for validity and reliability. The sampling method used accidental sampling, and 49 prospective brides and grooms were obtained as participants. Results: The results indicated that the "Paketin Canting" class titled "Paket Kelas Catin Cegah Stunting" had an effect on the biopsychosocial readiness of premarital individuals. In future research, the Catin class method can be further developed to enhance motivation and utilization. Additionally, further research is needed on the impact of Catin classes on reducing stunting rates in Indonesia, and statistical tests show a significant difference before and after the Paketin Canting intervention on the biopsychosocial readiness of premarital individuals (p-value = 0.000).Conclusion: There is an effect of the "Paketin Canting"- a pre-marital education program on the physical, psychological, and social readiness of premarital individuals.

Abstract

Abstract

Preconception Services, especially for prospective brides and grooms, aim to discover and change biomedical, psychological and social risks to women's health and pregnancy conditions with optimal early detection strategies. However, until now, services for prospective brides and grooms have only been limited to providing tetanus toxoid vaccination, which is currently not a prevention of the main problem. In fact, it is believed that the current problem of stunting can be prevented by optimally planning pregnancies and even marriages. So a strategy needs to be carried out in developing wedding planning through comprehensive pre-wedding classes. This community service aims to increase independence and empower health workers and prospective brides and grooms (catin) in optimal pre-wedding planning. The participants were 49 prospective brides and grooms. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) by carrying out 3 activities carried out in stages. The activities carried out are screening of catin's physical and mental health, physical and mental preparation education, social and spiritual preparation education, and monitoring and evaluation. The results of community service, namely based on premarital biopsychosocial preparation before and after the catin class, showed an average increase of 52%. From the results of the community service program in the form of catin classes, in general there are differences between before and after the program.
