Abstract

Community empowerment, which is the practice of implementing 3R by utilizing or recycling household solid waste, aims to increase the community's knowledge and skills in utilizing household solid waste into economic value products. Having this knowledge and skills will increase people's interest and willingness to use household solid waste, which in turn will maintain environmental quality by reducing the amount of solid waste and making the environment greener. This community service activity in Cibodas Village, Pasirjambu District starts from the preparation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation stages, as well as preparing reports and activity outputs. Activities are carried out offline while still observing health protocols, which are mandatory to wear masks, maintain distance, and always wash hands with soap and running water or use hand sanitizers. In this activity, the implementation is carried out by utilizing material delivery technology through the MS Power point application, delivery interactions through banners/posters, demonstrations of waste sorting and processing practices, as well as the design of 3R-based household waste management patterns that are integrated with the Waste Bank. In the implementation of counseling and training held at the Cibodas Village Office, all participants seemed enthusiastic in gaining additional knowledge and skills in 3R-based household solid waste management and had the motivation to change behavior in placing solid waste in segregated containers.

Abstract

The area of the Faculty of Sports Science, University of Cenderawasih is the embodiment of Campus Open Space that must consider comfort for the needs of local users. This area consists of lecture buildings, entrepreneurship buildings, football stadiums, as well as several sports arenas such as volleyball, futsal, basketball, tennis and badminton arenas. The Campus of the Faculty of Sports Science has an area of 5 hectares in which there is open space. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of comfort in campus open spaces through measurements of air temperature, air humidity, wind speed influenced by land cover (vegetation, pavement, water elements and building orientation) in the campus environment. The theme of the study is the Comfort Zone which focuses on user comfort to achieve the goal or criteria of thermal comfort of the environment based on the placement of space and human activities in the campus landscape. This research method uses quantitative descriptive methods. Observations were made in several locations on campus open spaces by purposive sampling on each different land cover characteristic using quantitative methods to obtain the Temperature Humidity Index (THI) value. The results showed that uncomfortable locations according to THI value standards were in all locations due to the use of pavement materials that did not absorb heat or vegetation that grew not optimally. This research shows that the presence of vegetation that shades a location can have an impact on decreasing air temperature in that location.

Abstract

A Franchise Agreement is a written agreement between Franchisor and Franchisee. The Franchise Agreement may contain provisions in which the franchisor requires the franchisee not to carry out the same business activities as the ongoing franchise businesses for a certain period after the expiration of the franchise agreement (non-competition clause). In practice, there were unscrupulous franchisees with bad intentions, establishing franchise partnerships with franchisors to get the know-how provided by the franchisor; then, before or after the end of the franchise agreement immediately setting up the same business/ potentially becoming a business competitor to the franchisor. There are two purposes of this article. The first is to explore and analyze the importance of the non-competition clause in franchise agreement/ the risk if the non-competition clause is not included/ not stipulated in franchise agreement. The second is to investigate how to arrange the non-competition clause in a franchise agreement to prevent unfair business competition. This research project uses qualitative method, involves respondents and informants from business owners of national franchisors. There are two results of this study. The first is the non-competition clause in franchise agreement is very important and risky if the non-competition clause is not included in franchise agreement. This is because if the franchisor's business system is adopted by other parties, it will be detrimental to the franchisor who has built his business from scratch. The second is the non-competition clauses in franchise agreements should bind the franchisee's person, location and apply post contractually. This provision remains in force and must be complied with by the franchisee (within a certain period) even if the franchise agreement has ended. The research results are expected to provide a reference and understanding of the parties’ interests in the franchise agreement that need to be secured, particularly regarding intellectual property rights and the transfer of know-how, which must be respected to prevent unfair business competition by business actors. This research is expected to provide input to KPPU regarding breaches of the non-competition clause in franchise agreements that have the potential to qualify as acts of unfair business competition.

Abstract

Evaluation of Physical Maintenance at Cibinong Botanical Garden, Bogor. Cibinong Botanical Garden (CBG) is a plant conservation area located on Jl. Raya Jakarta-Cibinong Km.46, Cibinong, Bogor. Cibinong Botanical Garden has become one of the places for educational tours for the people of Cibinong and its surroundings, but based on reviews obtained from Google Maps CBG within one month to ten months after CBG operates, seven of the 36 reviews of visitors who attended gave reviews about maintenance on the minimum number of plants and pavements in CBG, this can be seen from the decrease in the condition of soft materials and hard materials in the garden such as wooden bridges that have holes and rot and dead bush plants that are not replaced by new materials. Implementation of maintenance is very important because it aims to maintain the comfort of visitors and the beauty of the area. This study aims to describe the physical maintenance that takes place at the Cibinong Botanical Garden, to determine the effectiveness of maintenance work at the Cibinong Botanical Garden, and to provide recommendations for physical maintenance as an effort to improve the quality of garden elements in the Cibinong Botanical Garden. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The results obtained from the research are that there is no maintenance schedule that becomes a guideline in carrying out physical maintenance, missed several physical maintenance steps, and there is still a lack of human resources in carrying out maintenance.
