Abstract

Evaluation of Physical Maintenance at Cibinong Botanical Garden, Bogor. Cibinong Botanical Garden (CBG) is a plant conservation area located on Jl. Raya Jakarta-Cibinong Km.46, Cibinong, Bogor. Cibinong Botanical Garden has become one of the places for educational tours for the people of Cibinong and its surroundings, but based on reviews obtained from Google Maps CBG within one month to ten months after CBG operates, seven of the 36 reviews of visitors who attended gave reviews about maintenance on the minimum number of plants and pavements in CBG, this can be seen from the decrease in the condition of soft materials and hard materials in the garden such as wooden bridges that have holes and rot and dead bush plants that are not replaced by new materials. Implementation of maintenance is very important because it aims to maintain the comfort of visitors and the beauty of the area. This study aims to describe the physical maintenance that takes place at the Cibinong Botanical Garden, to determine the effectiveness of maintenance work at the Cibinong Botanical Garden, and to provide recommendations for physical maintenance as an effort to improve the quality of garden elements in the Cibinong Botanical Garden. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The results obtained from the research are that there is no maintenance schedule that becomes a guideline in carrying out physical maintenance, missed several physical maintenance steps, and there is still a lack of human resources in carrying out maintenance.

Abstract

The University of Indonesia boasts numerous green open spaces, including the Rector's Area. However, both the softscape and hardscape elements of the University of Indonesia Rectorate Area need to be well-maintained. The outdoor space's physical maintenance needs to meet standard requirements. This study aims to describe the softscape and hardscape conditions in the rectorate area of the University of Indonesia. Qualitative methods were employed for this investigation. Data was gathered via direct observations and interviews concerning the maintenance conditions at the University of Indonesia campus. A descriptive data analysis was conducted to discuss the identified problems. The findings indicate that the Rectorate Area of the University of Indonesia covers both softscape and hardscape maintenance activities. The maintenance of trees, shrubs, and plants aligns with the existing standards, while hardscape maintenance fails to meet these requirements due to several substandard elements. These maintenance issues encompass bus stops, bicycle stands, pedestrian pavements, and seating areas. Attention must be paid to various aspects, including rust, as this indicates the need for repainting.

Abstract

Situ (Shallow lake) Pengarengan with an area of 7 Ha serves as a water catchment area, flood control and conservation area. This study aims to analyze the damage that occurred in Situ Pengarengan and provide alternative solutions through landscape restoration technology. The main pollutants that enter the waters of Situ Pengarengan come from households, wastewater and garbage carried by the Kali Hati stream. Not all areas of Situ Pengarengan have adequate boundaries. Only 30% of the area has borders. Only 38% of the area has green open space. There are 17 types of plants on the banks of Situ Pengarengan. Situ landscape restoration technology is needed as an effort to improve ecosystem balance, restore ecological functions and increase the natural purification ability of situ water. One of the landscape restoration technologies by arranging landscapes uses plants that are able to hold runoff water to prevent erosion and as a natural filter for pollutants. Efforts to control damage and prevent pollution are carried out through the implementation of green open space according to the provisions, the implementation of communal Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), the installation of garbage retention nets and periodic cleaning and dredging of situ. Landscape restoration is carried out for damage control through the preservation of catchment areas and reforestation of the boundaries.
