Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan latar belakang permasalahan yang dihadapi selama masa pandemi covid-19. Dimana dosen tetap dituntut untuk tetap melaksanakan perkuliahan secara online agar pembelajaran tetap dapat berlangsung sebagaimana mestinya. Dalam hal ini peneliti tertarik untuk menerapkan media pemebelajaran online google meet pada mata kuliah speaking II. Mengingat pada mata kuliah speaking mahasiswa dituntut untuk melakukan kominikasi secara lisan dengan menggunakan bahasa inggris, sehingga google meet menjadi pilihan yang tepat karena aplikasi google meet merupakan aplikasi video conference yang memungkinkan terjadi interaksi secara langsung antar mahasiswa dan dosen meskipun melalui video. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: peningkatan kemampuan speaking sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan aplikasi google meet pada mata kuliah speaking II prodi bahasa inggris di STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagar Alam. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan pola Pretest-Posttest one Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester II S1 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagaralam dengan sampel yang dipilih secara random. Sampel diambil sebanyak satu kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi dan tes. Data uji dianalisis dengan menghitung uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji rata-rata satu. Perhitungan dilakukan dengan menggunakan SPSS for windows. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan menggunakan paired sample t-test dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS22 diperoleh nilai t= 10.806, p<0.00 (N=20). Dari hasil analisis tersebut dapat disimpulkan terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada nilai speaking II sebelum dan sesudah penerapan media pembelajaran Google Meet.

Abstract

The main problem of this research “was there any significant difference in reading comprehension between students who were taught by using Buzz group technique and those who were not in the tenth graders of SMA Muhammadiyah Pagaralam?” The objective of this study was to find out whether or not there was any significant difference in reading comprehension between students who were taught by using Buzz group technique and those who were not in the tenth graders of SMA Muhammadiyah Pagaralam. The population of this research  was all tenth grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah Pagaralam, consist of  259  students. Two  classes were chosen as the sample and they divided into experimental class and control class that consist of 32 students each classes. The sample were taken by using purposive sampling. Quasi experimental method was used in this research. The result of pre-test and post-test in experimental class and control class were compared by using independent sample t-test, in term of reading aspects. The value of t-obtained was 4,628, at the significance value p<0.05 in two tailed testing with df = 62, the critical value of the t-table was 1.999. Since the value of t-obtained was higher than the critical value of t-table, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It could be concluded that there was significance different in the students’ reading comprehension in the experimental class at every aspect before and after treatment by using Buzz Group Technique.

Abstract

Students’ low motivation and anxiety are common problem faced by the English teachers in teaching English as foreignlanguage, therefore, think pair and share as one of cooperative learning approach can be applied in solving those problem. The objective of the study was to find out the difference of students’ speaking skill who were taught by using Think Pair and Share and those who were not. The method that was used in this study was quasi experimental design. The population and sample of this study was the eight  grader of SMP N 1 PajarBulan. The data were collected by using pre-test and post-test. The result of the study showed that there was significant result of students’ speaking skill after being taught by using Think Pair and Share. It can be proved by comparing the result of the t-table and t-obtained. The statistical result showed that t-obtained was higher than t-table. So,  it can be said that Think Pair Share can be used in improving students’ speaking skill.

Abstract

The objective of the study is to identify the comparison between the use of Whatsapp and Google Classroom in structure class of the English Education Study Program of STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagaralam. This study used descriptive quantitative study method. The population was taken from all students at Second Semester English Education Study Program of STKIP MuhammadiyahPagaralam in the academic year 2020/2021 which has total number of students was 51 students. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling. In taking the sample, the writers used two classes as the WhatsApp group and Google Classroom group. The data were collected using a questionnaire of 20 items for students and 18 items for the structure lecturers’ that designed based on a 5-point Likert scale tocapture things experienced by students and structure lecturers’ and final scored in structure class to identify the effectiveness between using WhatsApp and Google Classroom in teaching learning. The data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The writers found that WhatsAppis more effective (85.2%) than Google classroom (53.2%) in developing students’ grammar awareness and creating maximum online learning in structure class. It proved that there was significant differences the effectiveness between using WhatsApp and Google Classroom in Structure Class at Second Semester English Education Study Program of STIKP Muhammadiyah Pagaralam.

Abstract

The advancement of technology has provided students with numerous opportunities to explore various media that can assist them in acquiring English as a target language. This study aims to examine the progress of students' speaking skills after being taught using Vlog as a teaching medium at SMK Muhammadiyah Pagaralam. The participants in this study were tenth-grade students from SMK Muhammadiyah Pagaralam. A quasi-experimental design was employed for this research. The instruments utilized in this study included an oral test administered before and after the treatment. The data analysis results demonstrated that the students exhibited improved speaking skills after being taught using vlogs as a teaching medium. In conclusion, vlogs proved to be an effective medium for enhancing students' speaking achievements at SMK Muhammadiyah Pagaralam.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether or not Hello English can improve students speaking achievement. A quasi-experimental design of quantitative research was employed to conduct this research. The sample of this research consisted of 64 students from classes X IPS 1 and X IPS 3 at SMA Muhammadiyah Pagar Alam. Before the students used the Hello English application, the researcher gave a pre-test to the students to find out their prior knowledge. A post-test was given to all students to determine their achievement in speaking English. The t-test formula was used to analyze the collected data. Based on the findings of this research, the t-obtained value was 12.396, and the t-table value was 1.670. The result of this study showed that there were significant differences of students’ speaking achievement in experimental class after getting treatment from Hello English compared to students’ speaking achievement in control class (conventional method). Based on the result of statistical analysis the alternative hypothesis (hₐ), which stated that there was a significant difference in speaking achievement in teaching speaking by using Hello English to tenth graders at SMA Muhammadiyah Pagar Alam, was accepted. On the other hand, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected.

Abstract

This study examines the persistent challenges faced by Indonesian students in developing English-speaking skills. The aim of the research is to analyze the primary barriers that hinder their speaking fluency and to offer effective pedagogical recommendations. A qualitative approach was employed through a literature review by synthesizing various academic sources focused on English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning in Indonesia. The findings reveal that students generally struggle with vocabulary acquisition, grammatical accuracy, and low self-confidence. In addition, the lack of exposure to authentic communication, teacher-centered instructional methods, and cultural norms contribute to students' reluctance to speak. Technological barriers, such as limited access to digital tools and the internet, further reduce speaking practice opportunities, particularly in rural areas. This study recommends the integration of communicative tasks into classroom routines, enhanced student engagement with authentic digital content, and the creation of a supportive learning environment where mistakes are viewed as part of the learning process. These strategies are expected to improve students' fluency, motivation, and overall ability to communicate effectively in English.

Abstract

In an era characterized by rapid technological change and global uncerainty, educational innovation is vital for preparing future generations to thrive. This study investigates four interrelated pillars of educational transformation: the integration of technology, active and collaborative pedagogy, the development of soft skills, and the analysis of systematic challenges. Drawing from authoritative sources such as UNESCO, OECD, and the World Economic Forum, this research emohasizes that innovation goes beyond adopting tools-it requires rethingking educational aims, structures, and delivery. The methodology includes literature analysis and conceptual synthesis, focusing on both internal (leadership, curriculum, school culture) and external (policy, social support, global challenges) factors that influence innovation. The findings highlight the need for inclusie, equity-driven reforms supported by proffesional development, flexible curricula, and community engagement. The study concludes that authentic innovation fosters ethical, resilient, and adaptable learnes. Therefore, a holistic approach-combining technological advancement with pedagogical and systemic change-is essential to ensure education remains relevant and transformative. The insights provided serve as a framework for policymarkers, educators, and institutions aiming to design sustainable educational systems for the future.

Abstract

This article presents a presentation about the role of Islamic religious education for the process of forming religious character for students. Islamic religious education is the most important foundation that realizes charachter education.. Education according to these important components is also believed to have an effective role in the formation of student character, especially in realizing the religious character, without ignoring the important things of the contents that associated with Islamic religious education. Where stakeholders in the live of students with religious character models both in the world and in the hereafter. The growth and development of a human identity can begin with the religious soul embedded in the students. This is where the meaning of character education is, therefore the material of Islamic religious education taught in the school environment is one of the supporting values that underlie character education. Through Islamic religious education, students are taught aqidah when they are able to recognize elements. Islamic religious education is education that teaches religious teachings based ob the Qur’an and hadist by using guidelines to protect themself in life. The main objective of Islamic religious education is to shape the personality of students in the context that reflection when behaving and determining thought patterns in life. In addition, the success value of various types of islamic religious education learning in the school environment can be determined by example of appropriate learning methods that are of interest to students.
