Abstract

Playing block activity aimed at developing child’s physical and motor skills in block building which come from cognitive skill which is used for thinking how to build desired building by placing some blocks horizontally and vertically. In playing block some other child’s skills will also developed. To maximize cognitive development of the children, scaffolding is needed. This activity helping children to broaden view, stimulate, and motivate children to play blocks in their best. However, the scaffolding should be in the right content and ways. For this matter, a research and development is necessary. The research is preceded by an action reserach which is aimed at looking for teachers’ best practices in giving scaffolding to children before, when, and after playing block. An outstanding kindergarten in South Tangerang, Banten Province, had been taken for the place of doing the classroom action research. As the result, the researchers together with the teachers had succesfully formulated the best way to give scaffolding to children that is by telling them a story about the building they are going to build and it is completed by giving them pictures or photos, or movies about the kind of building. However, too many angles of the building showing by the film, will make the children confuse and will reducing their quality of buildings. The last step was to tried-out this founding to another kindergarten in Bandung, West Java, and the teachers in that school were satisfied with the result.

Abstract

Many challenges must be faced by thr GOI in developing the program, nowadays the Govemment of lndonesia (G01) through Early Childhood Education (ECE) Department has been enhancing early childhood education programs for 0 to 8 year old children. The major challenges are children access to early childhood education services and quality of early childhood education programs. Considering the challenges, The United States Agency for Intemational Development (USAID) in partnership with Indonesia's Ministry of National Education is currently implementing a small scale interactive audio instruction (1AI) pilot program targeting 5-6 year olds and their teachers in seven provinces. The program can simultaneously lead acfivities to kindergarten children and teachers as well as train the teachers, who don't have early childhood education background, and how to create high qualityactivities for children. Because of its' simple technology, the program can be applied in various Indonesia district condition, This paper explores the potential role a simple technology can play in assisting the government meet its early childhood education goals and discusses whether something as commonplace as a CD player or radio, when coupled with a proven education methodology, could present a cost effective way to achieving quality at scale.

Abstract

Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems have been widely implemented in diverse applications, including buildings, traffic light systems, and public infrastructure, to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. However, the effectiveness of these systems depends on detailed and user-friendly monitoring, which remains a challenge due to cost and complexity barriers. This study addresses this gap by developing a low-cost, scalable PV monitoring system that integrates microcontroller-based sensors and data loggers to measure current, voltage, and power output in real time. The system is designed to be easily deployable and accessible, enabling broader adoption for renewable energy management. Using an experimental methodology, the system’s accuracy was validated through voltage sensor error analysis, yielding an average error of 0.07%, demonstrating high precision. The proposed solution not only enhances monitoring capabilities but also contributes to the optimization of solar energy systems by providing reliable data for performance evaluation. This research underscores the potential of affordable monitoring tools to support the sustainable expansion of solar PV technology.

Abstract

Children need to be equipped with the ability to navigate the world and to think independently, not just recite facts. One of the thinking ability dimensions is creating thinking associated with the ability to explore ideas, conclude possibilities, and find correct answers more than one answer. In this era of globalization and advances in technology, where changes rapidly occur in community, creative thinking ability is a need for every human being who want to succeed in a variety of competitions. Therefore, the ability to think creatively should be given since the age of early childhood. One way to develop critical and creative thinking is to give children experiences in thinking critically and creatively and it is known as high order thinking skills (HOTS). As basic of developing HOTS we can learning domains created by Benjamin Bloom. Accordingly there are three domains, these are cognitive, effective, and psychomotorIn Kindergarten level, to train high order thinking to children is through joyful activities and not through hard thinking exercices and it is satisfying kindergarten motto that is learn by playing and play while learning. One of joyful activities for children in which we can develop high order thinking skills is story telling. A structured and systematic story telling activity is story telling method, This method has been broadly used in many kindergarten because naturally there is no child who doesn't like a story. The purpose of this method generally is to develop language aspect of children development. However, other aspects can also be developed in line with the development of language, one of them is cognitive aspectUsually, story telling method is attributed by ask and answer activities that can take place before, while, and after story telling. In this activities teacher ^k the children what they have heard to check their understanding. .Sometimes, the teacher ask them about the story before the story is delivered to them. This strategy is to train them to predict a story by thinking about the title of the story. However, observations to some kindergarten classes - showed that most of the teachers questions were about remembering something rather than asking them to think critically. This paper will describe how teacher can make children think creatively and critically by using High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions in a story telling activity.
