Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to know the effects of the effects of emotional intelligence toward mathematic achievement at senior high school in east jakarta.  This study uses a quantitative approach with survey method. The data were analyzed using regression techniques to test the hypothesis. Sample of the research was 450 students which was detemined by using random sampling technique.  The result show that: there was direct effect of emotional intelligence toward  mathematic achievement. Thus, it is expected that all teachers are always trying to develop their teaching competencies in various ways by involving multiple intelligence specially emotional intelligence to achieve better students mathematic performance.   Keywords: emotional intelligence and mathematic achievement ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap hasil belajar matematika di SMA di Jakarta Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik regresi untuk menguji hipotesis. Sampel penelitian adalah 450 siswa yang diperoleh dengan teknik random sampling.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: terdapat pengaruh langsung kecerdasan emosional terhadap hasil belajar matematika. Dengan demikian, diharapkan semua guru selalu berusaha mengembangkan kompetensi mengajar mereka dengan berbagai cara dengan melibatkan kecerdasan majemuk khususnya kecerdasan emosional untuk mencapai hasil matematika siswa yang lebih baik. Kata Kunci : kecerdasan spiritual, kecerdasan emosional, dan kecerdasan sosial hasil belajar matematika

Abstract

Artikel ini ditujukan untuk memaparkan hasil kegiatan PKM mengenai pelatihan penelitian eksperimen dan ex post fakto pada guru-guru SMA Al Kahfi Bogor. Materi pembelajaran disampaikan melalui ceramah dan tanya jawab. Metode Pembelajaran pada pelatihan ini adalah metode problem solving.  Hasil kegiatan program PKM ini menunjukan bahwa terjadi peningkatan guru mengenai: konsep penelitian eksperimen dan ex post facto, metode ilmiah penelitian eksperimen dan ex post facto, analisa data uji comparasional khususnya uji-t dan penggunaan software SPSS dan excel untul analisa data uji comparsional khususnya uji-t. Berdasarkan kegiatan penyuluhan ini dianjurkan agar para guru terus belajar bagaimana melakukan penelitian sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam menulis karya ilmiah mereka dan membimbing peserta didik dalam membuat karya ilmiah.

Abstract

Mathematics anxiety is a significant barrier to students' academic achievement and engagement with mathematical content. This study aims to explore the key aspects influencing mathematics anxiety among students at various educational levels in Indonesia. An exploratory quantitative approach was employed involving 256 students from elementary, junior high, and senior high schools across West Java, Banten, and the Special Region of Jakarta. Data were collected using a 49-item questionnaire administered via Google Forms. Rasch model analysis was conducted using Winsteps version 4.4.7 to assess item-person fit, followed by inferential statistical analysis using SPSS version 24. After Rasch calibration, 117 student responses and 33 items were deemed valid and reliable for further analysis. The findings identified the attitudinal and psychological aspects as the most influential in contributing to students’ mathematics anxiety. Key indicators included avoidance of mathematics-related tasks, negative perceptions of mathematics, and low self-confidence. Female students, particularly at the junior and senior high school levels, exhibited the highest levels of anxiety. To mitigate mathematics anxiety, it is recommended that educators implement engaging, real-life-based learning approaches, and foster positive beliefs about the role and accessibility of mathematics. Despite its valuable insights, the study is limited by its small, non-random sample and narrow geographic scope. Future research should involve a broader and more diverse population to strengthen generalizability.
