This study aims to determine whether the merit system variable has a significant effect on employee competence and whether work performance has a significant effect on employee competence. The research method used is descriptive, verification, namely by describing each variable and testing the three variables with a quantitative (statistical) approach which is then analyzed and compared with existing theories and problems to conclude. Simultaneously the magnitude of the effect of the merit system and work performance is 67.4% on competence while other factors are not examined (epsilon) but affect competence at 33.6%. The results of the study which are based on the partial hypothesis state that the merit system and work performance variables can be detected from the magnitude of the influence of each factor consisting of the merit system factor (X1of32.1%, work performance factor (X235) of,5%, to the competence of employees at PT. Purnatarum Murni Rahayu. This study concludes that the merit system has an effect on employee competence and work performance has a more dominant influence on employee competence than the merit system

Abstract

Based on the results of a pre-survey conducted by researchers in the garment industry at the Sewing Department in West Java, it is indicated that the production process has not fully run well, there are still several problems such as processes that are still not in accordance with standard operating procedures, there are still employees who lack focus, and there are still products that are not in accordance with the standards that pass the finishing section. The population in this study was 271. The technique used in determining the sample is using the solvin formula so that the sample results total 73 sample. The analysis used is linear regression, correlation, coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing with the t test. Based on the results of the correlation test value obtained, it has a coefficient correlation is 0.367 can be concluded the between supervision and product quality with employee competence as a moderating variable the level relationship is low. The results obtained from the linear regesion analysis of the value of Y = 43.601+0.003X which means that every addition to the supervisory value moderated by employee competence, the product quality value will increase by 0.003. For hypothesis testing used in this study is to use a two-way t test. The hypothesis test using the t test obtained a calculated t value of 3.321 and t table determined is 1.993, accepted which means that supervision has an influence on product quality with employee competence as a variable moderating.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role and management strategies of foreign exchange reserves in maintaining Indonesia’s economic stability amid the global economic slowdown. The global slowdown, driven by geopolitical uncertainty, monetary policy tightening, and financial market volatility, has exerted pressure on developing countries, including Indonesia, through trade, exchange rate, and capital flow channels. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, utilizing secondary data from reports of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, and publications from Bank Indonesia. Data analysis is conducted using content analysis. The results show that the global economic slowdown has led to declining export performance, exchange rate volatility, and fluctuations in capital flows in Indonesia. In this context, foreign exchange reserves play a strategic role as a shock absorber in mitigating external pressures. However, their effectiveness is determined not only by the level of reserves but also by adaptive and prudent management strategies. This study highlights that economic stability is also influenced by the synergy between monetary and fiscal policies, as well as the strengthening of the domestic economic structure.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the behavior of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) usage and its implications for Financial Distress among university students. A qualitative exploratory approach was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of students’ financial behavior in the context of digital credit. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with students who actively use paylater services and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that paylater usage is largely driven by consumptive needs, supported by ease of access, payment flexibility, and lifestyle influences. Students often perceive paylater as a practical financial solution; however, they tend to exhibit overconfidence in their future repayment capacity. This leads to less prudent financial decisions and increases the risk of financial imbalance. The study also finds that such behavior may result in Financial Distress, reflected in cash flow difficulties, delayed payments, and rising financial pressure. Nevertheless, the level of vulnerability varies depending on individual factors such as financial literacy, self-control, and social environment. The study concludes that paylater usage is not merely a financial tool but a behavioral phenomenon. Strengthening financial literacy and self-control is therefore essential to mitigate Financial Distress risks among students.
