Abstract

ABSTRAKPemupukan di persemaian merupakan upaya untuk memacu pertumbuhan dan meningkatkan kualitasbibit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh informasi tentang pengaruh dosis pupuk majemukterkendali terhadap pertumbuhan bibit jelutung rawa di persemaian. Penelitian dilakukan di persemaiandan laboratorium Balai Penelitian Kehutanan Palembang. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalahRancangan Acak Kelompok dengan tiga kali ulangan dengan perlakuan yang diuji meliputi 5 (lima) tarafdosis pupuk majemuk terkendali (D =0; D =0,5; D =1,0; D =1,5; D =2,0 gram/bibit). Parameter yangdiamati adalah persentase hidup, pertumbuhan tinggi, diameter dan Indeks Kualitas Semai (IKS). Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis pupuk berpengaruh sangat nyata dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhanbibit di persemaian. Perlakuan yang memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan bibit adalahperlakuan D . Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh pertumbuhan tinggi bibit yang lebih tinggi 48,03% dan diameter012344037,57% dibandingkan pertumbuhan tinggi dan diameter bibit D. lowii pada perlakuan D dengan nilai IKS0,28.

Abstract

Kayu bawang (Dysoxylum mollissimum Blume) has been planted almost in all districts of Bengkulu Province, Indonesia, but few studies have been conducted to estimate the site quality of this species. This study aimed to asses site quality of   Dysoxylum mollissimum Blume on smallholder plantation by establishing 32 permanent sample plots (PSPs) distributed in six districts of Bengkulu Province and measured periodically from 2006 to 2012. The result shown that the robust model for dominant height growth of Dysoxylum mollissimum Blume in Bengkulu Propince was Schumacher model expressed by the equation: Ln Ho = (3,06322 + ai) – 2,04777/A (R2 = 96,5%, AMRES = 0,82 and APD =5,03%).  Site equation for this species based on the dominant height growth model was  Ln Si = Ln H0 – 2,04777 (1/12-1/A) for age index of 12 years. Based on this equation, the site were classified into five classes having an equal range of 3 metres, includes SI < 16 m; 16 m ≤ SI < 19 m; 19 m ≤ SI <  22 m; 22 m ≤ SI < 25 m; and SI ≥ 25 m for site class I, II, III, IV, and V representing from the most poor to the highest productivity respectively. Good site quality was mostly found in lowland having altitude < 300 m above sea level and bulk density > 0,9 g/cc.

Abstract

Hutan tanaman industri yang dibangun pada lahan terdegradasi seperti semak belukar dan padang rumput dapat meningkatkan serapan karbon pada lahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai serapan karbon hutan tanaman krasikarpa (Acacia crassicarpa) yang dibangun pada lahan rawa terdegradasi di Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI), Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menganalisa data dari 433 petak ukur permanen yang dibangun pada tipe lahan marine clay, gambut dangkal (peat VI) dan gambut dalam (peat VII) yang diukur dari tahun 2005-2014. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model serapan karbon berbeda pada masing-masing tipe lahan basah, yaitu Y = 34,82/(1+77,71 exp (-1,44 X)) pada tipe lahan marine clay, Y = 28,05/(1+17,64 exp (-0,96 X)) dan Y = 25,52/(1+ 40,89 exp (-1,47 X)) pada tipe lahan gambut dangkal dan gambut dalam. Berdasarkan model tersebut, serapan karbon maksimum berbeda pada tiap tipe lahan, yaitu sebesar 34,82 ton C/ha pada lahan marine clay; 28,05 ton C/ha pada gambut dangkal (peat VI) dan 25,52 ton C/ha pada lahan gambut dalam (peat VII). Riap serapan rata-rata maksimum pada lahan marine clay dan peat VI terjadi pada umur 4,25 tahun sebesar 7,0 dan 5,08 ton C/ha/tahun, tetapi pada peat VII terjadi lebih dulu yaitu pada umur 3,75 tahun sebesar 5,89 ton C/ha/tahun.

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Kayu bawang (Protium javanicum, Burm. F) is a type of tree seed that has many advantages and benefits. One of the problems faced in cultivating kayu bawang seedlings is producing seeds with good growth. The aim of this research was to examined the effect of concentration and frequency of spraying foliar fertilizer on the growth of kayu bawang seedlings. The research was conducted at the nursery of Palembang Forestry and Inveronmental Research and Development Center. This study used foliar fertilizer at doses 0, 5, 10, 15 mL/L of water with the main content of nitrogen and potassium. Data collection was carried out by observing 216 seeds in polybags. The results were showed that all levels of fertilizer concentration and frequency of foliar fertilizer spray had no significant effect on all observed parameters, but the concentration of 5 mL/L tended to be better than other concentrations and the frequency of spraying once every 2 weeks tended to be better than other frequency, and the interaction between foliar fertilizer with a concentration of 5 mL/L and a frequency of spraying once every 2 weeks tended to be better than other interactions. From the research that has been done, it is concluded that the best dose of foliar fertilizer to increase kayu bawang seedling growth is with a concentration of 5 mL/L with a frequency of spraying every 2 weeks.

Abstract

Kayu bawang (Dysoxylum mollissimum Blume) has been planted almost in all districts of Bengkulu Province, Indonesia, but yet no study has been conducted to analyze the site quality of this species. This paper studies the site quality of Dysoxylum mollissimum Blume of smallholder plantations by establishing 32 permanent sample plots (PSPs) distributed in six districts of Bengkulu Province and measured periodically from 2006 to 2012. Site quality was determined by phytocentric method which used stand dominant height as a indicator. The result shows that the best model for dominant height growth of Dysoxylum mollissimum Blume in Bengkulu Province was the Schumacher model expressed by the equation: Ln Ho = (3.06 + ai) – 2.05/A (R2 = 96.5%, Absolute Mean Residual (AMRES) = 0.82 and Average Percentage Difference (APD) =5.03%). The relevant site equation for this species derived from the dominant height growth model was: Ln Si = Ln H0 – 2.05 (1/12-1/A) for an index age of 12 years. Based on this equation, the sites were classified into 5 classes having an equal range of 3 m i.e. SI < 16 m; 16 m = SI < 19 m; 19 m = SI < 22 m; 22 m = SI < 25 m; and SI = 25 m: for site classes I, II, III, IV, and V representing from the lowest to the highest productivity respectively.
