Abstract

Toddlers are vulnerable groups that must be considered especially the fulfillment of nutritional intake. Balanced nutrition in infancy plays an important role in increasing human resources in the future, but malnutrition in infancy affects the growth and development of children's brains that are irreversible or unable to recover. The problem of malnutrition is still a major problem in Indonesia despite the many efforts and prevention programs that have been made. This study aims to analyze the determinant of toddler nutrition status in farmer's families in Halilulik Health Center Belu District in 2019. This research used an analytic survey with a cross-sectional design. The sample in this research were 94 toddlers who were in the Halilulik Health Center Community. Data analysis used was univariate analysis, bivariate analysis and multivariate analysis with chi-square and multiple logistic regression tests. The results of this research showed that the variables of mother's knowledge (ρ=0.032), level adequacy of energy (ρ = 0,000), level adequacy of protein (ρ=0,000) and history of infectious disease (ρ=0,002) have correlation with Toddler Nutrition Status, while families food processing habits (ρ=0,739) and families eating restrictions (ρ=0,617) did not have any correlation with Toddler Nutrition Status. The dominant factor that most influences the nutritional status of toddlers is the level adequacy of energy followed by the level adequacy of protein. Nutrition toddlers have less levels of energy and protein intake compared to toddlers with good nutritional status. Consumption of foods that are diverse and varied needs to be considered, especially foods that are sourced with energy, protein, and fat to reduce the problem of malnutrition in infants.

Abstract

The importance of using PPE for waste transport officers is to prevent potential hazards in the workplace. This study identified predisposing factors (knowledge, attitudes, comfort), enabling (availability of PPE and socialization), and reinforcing (supervision and policy) of the behavior of using PPE for waste transporters in 2020. This study is descriptive. The population of this study was 181 waste transport officers at the Environmental Service and Cleanliness of Kupang City. The sampling technique is simple random sampling and a sample of 64 officers. Data were analyzed using a frequency distribution table. The results showed that most respondents had good knowledge and a positive attitude towards PPE with 95.3% and 92.2%. However, as many as 89,1% of respondents expressed uncomfortable feelings using PPE. PP was not available (100%), socialization about PPE during 2020 was never carried out (100%), supervision of the use of PPE during 2020 did not exist (100%), and leadership policies related to PPE during 2020 did not exist (100%). In addition, all respondents did not use PPE completely (100%). The Kupang City Environment and Hygiene Service should consider the condition of PPE that is damaged and unsuitable for use and supports the proposal of parties in the budget so that the office has PPE for waste transport officers.

Abstract

Meat floss production requires time as it involves a heavy workload. In addition, poor posture and work environment may cause fatigue and workplace accidents for the workers. There are two causes of fatigue, physical fatigue which is due to work-related environment factors and non-physical fatigue which is due to individual factors. Fatigue can affect health and work performance leading to productivity loss and accidents. This research aims to determine factors associated with work fatigue of workers at the Vivi Meat Floss Factory in Kefamenanu. This research was analytic with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study consisted of all workers (32 women) at the factory. A total sampling technique was applied to select the sample. The data were analyzed using logistic regression. The results showed that the factors related to work fatigue were job tenure period (p-value of 0.001 < 0.05), age (p-value of 0.002 < 0.05), work posture (p-value of 0.002 < 0.05), duration (p-value of 0.006 < 0.05), and temperature (p-value of 0.002 < 0.05).

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through mosquito bites. The Aedes aegypti mosquito is the main vector. However, other species such as Aedes albopictus can also be vector transmitters. Some of the factors that influence the occurrence of DHF include low immunity status of community groups and increased mosquito population density due to the large number of breeding places in the rainy season. Currently, DHF is still a common disease and is one of the main public health problems in Indonesia. The number of cases of dengue fever in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province in 2015 was 665 cases, in 2016 as many as 1,213 cases, and in 2017 as many as 542 cases. This study aims to analyze the relationship between behavior and the incidence of dengue fever in the working area of the Bakunase Health Center, Kupang City. This study was an analytic observational study with a case-control design. Data were collected in January-February 2020. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant relationship between knowledge and attitude with the incidence of DHF, while action has a significant relationship with the incidence of DHF. Community empowerment efforts related to preventive measures need to be prioritized so that the risk of DHF disease can be reduced.

Abstract

Waigete sub-district is a malaria endemic area, so an effective and efficient vector control strategy is needed. Spatial analysis is the general ability to compile and process spatial data into a variety of different forms in such a way as to provide new or additional meanings. This study aims to spatially analyze the types, types, positive breeding places for larvae and larvae density as well as the habitat index with the incidence of malaria in Waigete District in 2019/2020. This type of research is a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were 39 patients and 53 breeding points with saturated sampling technique. The analysis showed that there were 53 breeding points with nine types, namely lakes, reservoirs, ditches, rice fields, springs, ponds, lagoons, rivers and puddles, malaria cases totaled 39 cases. There is a distribution pattern of breeding places that are close to malaria sufferers with a radius of less than 500 m, there is a high larval density in the Waigete sub-district. The spread of breeding places and positive malaria cases occur at altitudes below 700 mdpl. Communities need to work together to manipulate and modify, clean up breeding places for mosquitoes, and sow biological predators in all breeding places for mosquitoes.

Abstract

Clean water is a basic human need that supports the sustainability of life and public health. The ability to access clean water determines the amount of household clean water stored, domestic activities and clean, healthy behavior. Women are mostly responsible for water availability in East Nusa Tenggara (73,4%) and based on a gender perspective, this is gender inequality. The study aims to determine the influence of gender inequality on women on water availability in a household setting. This research was an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted in East Maradesa Village, Central Sumba Regency in 2020 on 124 families with a sample of 95 women. The data analysis used multiple regression with α=0,05 (5%). The result indicated that gender inequality simultaneously had a significant effect on water availability with a meaning level of 9% (p=0.009; F=4.087; adjusted R2=0.09). The government needs to create a program with gender mainstreaming principles, and provide gender education through the family planning development program for communities in the village of East Maradesa, Central of Sumba.
