Abstract

This article is an attempt to explore and practice of comparative theology. Comparative theology itself is unique in terms of its sources and methods, in which theological reflection is built on the basis of a comparison of more than one religious traditions. Moreover, comparative theology emphasizes practice rather than theory. According to the author, theology comparative is a contextual theology that can be developed in plural Indonesian society. In this practice, the author chooses the Quran and the Eucharist as the starting point of the discussion.

Abstract

The rapid growth of hoax information dissemination through social media is increasingly unstoppable. One of the causes is the narcissistic behavior that exists within the users of social media. This article explains the narcissistic behavior that has become a fertile ground for the dissemination of hoax information and how to overcome it by taking inspiration from the Qur'an and Hadith. This research uses qualitative design and literature research approach. Meanwhile, the determination of the verses of Al-Qur'an in this study used Tafsir Maudhu'i method. Based on the Qur'an and Hadith, this study shows that in an effort to prevent the widespread of hoax information, one needs to be critical and wise in using social media, as well as doing tabayyun before sharing any information.

Abstract

This article is part of a study on religious discourse in the new media era. The main study discussed here is how the public access to da’wah content on social media delivered by da’i mualaf. Using a virtual ethnography method, this research studies and analyzes some da’wah content on the YouTube social media platform. The results of this study show that there are a variety of people’s motivations in accessing da’wah content, including curiosity about the story of the conversion of the da’i mualaf, which in turn affirms their religious identity as a Muslim. This research also showed a variety of public expression shown in a variety of comments, among other support, criticism, and even theological debate

Abstract

Dealing with radical understandings in religion, religious education in schools is an alternative to counteracting it. Lack of true religious knowledge, lack of social awareness and low levels of parental supervision and mentoring are thought to be a factor in increasing radical understanding, especially among young people. Therefore religious education in schools needs to be directed to take part in overcoming it by providing inclusive and tolerant material for students. This research aims to see how the government strives for an inclusive and tolerant model of religious education. By reading and analyzing the material in the book Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti for elementary and secondary schools, this study shows that the government has attempted to provide inclusive and tolerant religious education.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service activity was carried out to support the implementation of the "7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children" movement, which aims to shape a golden generation with strong character. The program targets educational institutions at various levels, and in this case, is focused on empowering educators and education staff at SD Methodist 3 Palembang to understand and apply the movement effectively. Design/Methodology/Approach: The activity was conducted through structured socialization sessions and participatory workshops involving all teachers and school staff. The method included concept dissemination, discussion forums, and the formulation of applicable school-based activity plans aligned with the seven habits. Findings: The participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the "7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children" and successfully developed a draft implementation program tailored to the conditions and needs of SD Methodist 3 Palembang. Practical Implications: The movement can be integrated into the school’s character education strategy through systematic and sustainable planning. It strengthens the role of educators in fostering positive behaviors and habits among students. Originality/Value: This activity contributes to national character education by equipping primary school educators with concrete knowledge and practical tools to instill foundational habits that support student development. The collaboration model between higher education institutions and primary schools also enhances the impact of character-based educational movements.
