Abstract

Abstract: Persuasive strategies in advertisement often use signs or languages representing gender biases in society. These gender biases are especially depicted in the use of woman figure as a sign object, which often shows physical exploitation and woman domestication. However, woman’s role in public area has been developed and advanced in terms of number as well as role and job diversity. Thus, this paper discusses the current tendency of media especially printed ones to represent woman domestication. Also, how advertisement portrays woman domestication in general.Abstrak: Strategi persuasif dalam iklan kerap menggunakan tanda atau bahasa yang menyentuh bias gender dalam masyarakat. Bias gender tersebut utamanya menyangkut penggunaan figur perempuan sebagai objek tanda yang mengeksploitasi tubuh dan daya tarik seksual perempuan. Bias gender tersebut juga sering ditampilkan dalam bentuk subordinasi dan domestikasi perempuan. Di sisi lain, peran perempuan di wilayah publik telah mengalami perkembangan dan kemajuan. Ini bisa dilihat selain dari segi jumlah juga dalam jenis pekerjaan dengan beragam kedudukan di masyarakat. Tulisan ini membahas kecenderungan iklan di media cetak, khususnya, dalam merepresentasikan domestikasi perempuan.

Abstract

Antonio Gramsci adalah seorang intelektual besar di kalangan kaum kiri, yang disebut sebagai pemikir terbesar setelah Karl Marx. Pemikiran-pemikiran Gramsci tertuang dalam banyak artikel yang dimuat di media massa, dan dalam buku-buku karyanya seperti; Prison Notebook, The Modern Prince and Other Political Writing, Selection from the Prison Notebooks, Letters from Prison, Selection from Political Writing, Selection from Cultural Writing, dan sebagainya.Dari seluruh karya dan tulisannya, hegemoni dinilai sebagai ide sentral dan orisinal yang dikembangkan Gramsci. Teori Hegemoni dipandang telah membawa perubahan besar dan menimbulkan perdebatan pemikiran atas teori-teori perubahan sosial, terutama bagi yang menghendaki perubahan radikal dan revolusioner.Konsep-konsep pemikiran Gramsci tentang hegemony, civil society, political society, counter hegemony, war of position, war of movement, intelectual organik dan perannya dalam transformasi sosial, adalah gagasan-gagasan yang dinilai brilian, dan memberi sumbangan penting pada perkembangan teori-teori sosial, dan menumbuhkan kesadaran politik kritis. Konsep pemikirannya tentang hegemoni juga mendorong perumusan kembali watak kelas, kekuatan-kekuatan sosial dan makna sejati dari kekuasaan dan dominasi. Hal-hal inilah yang antara lain mendasari penulisan artikel ini.

Abstract

Poverty is a persistent and widespread social problem worldwide, including in Indonesia. The Family Hope Program (PKH) is a government initiative in Indonesia aimed at reducing poverty by providing conditional social assistance to eligible poor families identified as beneficiaries of the PKH. Effective dissemination of information is crucial in achieving the program's objectives. This research aims to answer questions regarding the communication patterns, barriers, and ways to overcome them in the dissemination of information for the PKH program. The research method employed is qualitative case study. The researcher collected, reduced, and presented informant responses, supported by observations to interpret the data and draw conclusions. The findings of this study indicate that: 1) The communication pattern in the dissemination of PKH information in Sumberdadap Village involves three direct parties, namely the district coordinator, facilitators, and residents, with the village providing support. 2) Barriers in the dissemination of the PKH program in Sumberdadap Village include technical, semantic, and behavioral barriers. 3) All of these barriers have been overcome through coordination among the district coordinators, facilitators, and PKH beneficiary families.

Abstract

The patriarchal culture that is socialized and internalized from generation to generation creates misunderstandings about the nature of men and women. This misunderstanding is also related to the confusion in the meaning of society about the concept of sex and gender. Efforts to straighten understanding and build public gender awareness have long been promoted. How is the result? How is the awareness or understanding of Generation Z about the concepts of sex and gender and the nature of men and women? This research was conducted to answer this question. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method. Researchers calculate, juxtapose and compare the percentage of respondents' answers, to draw concepts or conclusions with logical and critical analysis. The population of this study were social and political students at the Balitar Islamic University. The research sample was taken using quota sampling, and determined 100 male students and 100 female students as respondents. The results of this study indicate that: 1) respondents' awareness of the concept of sex or gender is classified as good, but respondents' awareness of the concept of gender is still below the average, 2) the majority of respondents are confused in distinguishing the concepts of sex and gender, and 3) the majority of respondents are wrong in interpreting the essential nature of men and women. This research can be used as a reference for government and non-government institutions in conducting socialization to build gender awareness of the younger generation. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses produksi Batik Moedjair Kandang Jaya dan mengurai keunikan dalam proses produksinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Data primer dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Batik Kandang Jaya memiliki enam tahapan dalam melakukan proses produksi diantaranya mendesain pola motif batik; menduplikasi atau menjiplak pola desain motif batik pada kertas HVS ke kain mori; pencantingan; pewarnaan; penguncian warna; dan pelorotan. Keunikan dan kekhasan dalam proses produksi Batik Kandang Jaya yaitu pertama, dalam proses pembuatan sangat dipengaruhi oleh kehendak dan suasana hati. Kedua, desain motif yang digunakan merupakan kreativitas sendiri. Ketiga, proses pencantingan hanya menggunakan satu jenis canting, dan tidak menggunakan gawangan sebagai alat bantu pada saat mencanting. Keempat, proses pewarnaan menggunakan jegul. Kelima, proses produksi dilakukan secara mandiri, mulai dari tahap mendesain motif hingga tahap pelorotan.

Abstract

Korean dramas often tell about issues that often occur in society, one of which is bullying. One of the Korean dramas that represents the phenomenon of bullying is "The Glory". This research aims to find out how bullying is represented in the Korean drama "The Glory" by analyzing scenes that display forms of bullying using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis.The results of this research found 12 scenes in 7 episodes that represent bullying behavior in the Korean drama "The Glory". The representation of bullying in the Korean drama "The Glory" shows various forms of bullying such as direct physical contact, direct verbal contact, direct non-verbal behavior, cyberbullying, and sexual harassment. The perpetrators of bullying feel they are powerful and have the power to act as they please, especially to students who appear weak and have no power. They come from rich or influential families and abuse their victims with impunity from the authorities. The perpetrators also have no sense of guilt at all, and even consider the bullying they do as entertainment.

Abstract

This research departs from the phenomenon that occurred in Islamic boarding schools that are still not strong in developing a literacy culture in creating a generation that is waiting through educational leadership. The purpose of this research is to find out the literacy culture for students in the digital era, literacy facilitation for students and the impact of literacy culture for students at the Sirojut Tholibin Plosokandang Islamic boarding school. The methods used in this service activity are the lecture method, question and answer method, and discussion method. The cottage-based literacy movement is carried out in three stages, namely the habituation stage, the development stage, and the learning stage. The results of the implementation of service at Sirojut Tholibin Plosokandang related to literacy culture in this all-digital era can be held properly and smoothly in accordance with the work program that has been prepared. The purpose of this work program is so that Indonesian youth, especially students in Sirojut Tholibin Plosokandang, do not abandon the reading culture even though the times are increasingly sophisticated, especially in social media. Utilizing the technology they have for positive things for future provisions. Continue to develop a literate culture so that it can create a work that can be enjoyed by the general public. And the hope is that in the future when they become alumni students, they will be able to compete with the outside world. That is the hope of the community service implementation team and the caregivers of Sirojut Tholibin Plosokandang.

Abstract

Anxiety about everyday events, such as violence and intimidation. One form of social violence that is often the focus of horror films is Bulliying. Bulliying is deliberate threats or actions to physically, verbally or mentally dominate, hurt or eliminate someone, carried out repeatedly to make a vulnerable victim feel intimidated and threatened. One of the horror films that represents the phenomenon of Bulliying is "Munkar". Therefore, researchers conducted research with the aim of finding out how Bulliying is represented in the horror film "Munkar" by analyzing scenes that show forms of Bulliying using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis.
