Abstract

Consumption of high nutritional is increasing; therefore, it is necessary to develop pigmented trice variety with high yield, good adaptability, and good grain quality favored by consumer such as soft texture. The development of aromatic rice variety includes crossbreeding, selection, yield trials, resistance test to pest and diseases, physico-chemical properties assay, analyzing of minerals contents and anthocyanin which were done consecutively during 2012 to 2016. The results showed that a promising line of BH39D-MR-11-1-1-6 revealed consistent grain yield in 16 multi-location yield trials both in the dry season and the wet season in average 6.78 t/ha dan 5.35 t/ha, respectively. The line demonstrated its yield potential of 10,67 t/ha, mid-resistance to biotype 1 of brown planthopper, resistance to pathotype III and mid-resistance to pathotype IV and VIII of bacterial leaf blight, and mid-resistance to four races of rice blast (race of 033, 073, 133 and 173). This line had relatively comparable iron content with the check variety of Inpari-5 Merawu but higher in zinc content compared to other lines tested. The dehulled rice was red and contains a high total phenolic compound amounting (5,743 mg AAE/100 g), and its texture was soft and fragrance. The BH39D-MR-11-1-1-6 has been released as new rice variety named as Inpari Arumba and had a great potential to become a national specialty rice choice.

Abstract

The rice plant (Oryza sativa L.) is a staple food source for most people in Indonesia, including those in Kebumen Regency; hence, any decline in rice productivity will impact national food security. A research was carried out to evaluate the growth responses of nine rice varieties under marginal coastal lands in Kebumen Regency. The varieties tested were Inpari 34 Salin Agritan, Inpari 35 Salin Agritan, Inpari Unsoed 79 Agritan, Inpari 47 WBC, IPB 12S, IPB13S, TP-Padi 1, TP-Padi 2, Ciherang, Cilamaya Muncul. Each variety was planted using a square planting system at a distance of 25cm × 25cm, with a plot size of 4m × 5m. Plant growth variables were plant height, number of tillers, root length, root dry weight, shoot dry weight, root/shoot ratio, 50% flowering age and plant lifespan. Paddy varieties grown in South Kebumen coastal area significantly showed different response in plant height, number of tillers, shoot dry weight, 50% flowering age, and plant lifespan. The varieties of IPB 12S, Inpari 47 WBC, and Inpari 34 Salin Agritan have higher growth and flowering performance in coastal  area that might  be have potential to the tolerance to salinity and drought stresses, เว็บสล็อต . Abstract

The objective of the study was to identify the combining ability of several introduced and local chilli genotypes and heterosis effects of their offsprings, as a result of the hybridisation process. This information will be used for production of hybrid varieties. The study was conducted from November 2006 to May 2007 at Tajur experimental station, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. The fi ve parents with their ten F1 hybrids were evaluated in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The results showed that hybrid IPB C15 x IPB C19 had the highest fruit weight per plant, and hybrid IPB C8 x IPB C19 had the highest heterosis for this character. Hybrid IPB C8 x IPB C15 has highest number of fruits per plant and showed heterosis effects. Crosses among introduced and local genotypes resulted a high heterosis values. Additive variance of weight and number of fruits per plant were greater than the dominant variance. IPB C19 had the best general combining ability for fruit weight per plant character. Abstract

Budidaya padi di sawah tadah hujan dengan sistem tebar benih langsung memerlukan varietas yang beradaptasi baik pada kondisi ekosistem tersebut dan toleran terhadap tingkat oksigen rendah selama berkecambah atau anaerobic germination (AG). Penelitian bertujuan mengevaluasi penampilan agronomi galur-galur padi dilakukan di sawah tadah hujan, serta toleransinya terhadap kondisi AG. Evaluasi toleransi cekaman kondisi anaerob dilakukan di rumah kaca BB Padi pada bulan Februari 2020. Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 genotipe padi. Penapisan AG dilakukan dengan merendam benih dalam air dengan ketinggian 10 cm selama 10 hari. Pengujian daya hasil dilakukan di sawah tadah hujan Sumedang dan Pati pada musim hujan 2020. Percobaan disusun menggunakan rancangan kelompok lengkap teracak dengan empat ulangan. Toleransi terhadap kondisi AG dapat diidentifikasi berdasarkan karakter persentase daya pulih, panjang tunas dan akar, dan biomassa. Karakter-karakter tersebut saling berkorelasi nyata, positif, dan kuat. Galur IR 83381-B-B-6-1, IR 129336:11-19-Ski-0-Kn-3 dan B14897E-SKI-9-7-2 memiliki toleransi AG lebih baik daripada Inpari 30 dan Inpari 39. Dari hasil pengujian lapangan, dua galur memiliki rata-rata GKG setara dengan Inpari 30 dan Inpari 39, serta konsisten cukup tinggi yaitu IR 129336:11-19-Ski-0-Kn-3 (5.61 ton ha-1) dan B14316E-KA-15 (6.04 ton ha-1). Hasil pengujian ini dapat dilanjutkan dengan uji multi lokasi pada galur IR 83381-B-B-6-1, IR 129336:11-19-Ski-0-Kn-3 dan B14897E-SKI-9-7-2 dengan mempertimbangkan daya hasil dan adaptasinya sehingga dapat dilepas menjadi varietas toleran AG. Abstract

The seed yield production determines the success of the development of hybrid rice. Here, an effective and efficient cultivation technology for producing hybrid rice seeds is optimized through spacing and row ratio management. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of spacing and row ratio of restorer (R) : CMS (A) on F1 hybrid rice seed production. The experiment was conducted at the Indonesian Center of Rice Research's experimental field in the dry season of 2016, using parental lines HIPA18 hybrid rice, i.e., CMS: IR79156A line and Restorer: IR53942 line. The experiment was laid out in a strip-plot design replicated three times. Two factors were studied, i.e., plant spacing between CMS lines and row ratio R by A-lines. The results indicated that the highest HIPA18 seed production was obtained from 20 cm x 20 cm spacing of CMS with row ratio 2R:14A, i.e., 3.62 tons ha-1. Plant spacing and row ratio interactions were improved tillers number per plant of restorer and F1 seed yields. Keywords: A-lines; CMS; F1 hybrid rice; R-lines
