Abstract

Abstract

International community service (PKM) is a tangible manifestation of the involvement of universities in bridging science with practice in the field across countries. This activity was carried out through a mock study and collaboration between Indonesian Higher Education Cooperatives and cooperative institutions in Malaysia, involving economic, legal, health, and technological aspects. "The partners of international PKM activities are the Universiti Malaya Alumni Cooperative (KAGUMI) and the Universiti Teknologi MARA Cooperative (UiTM), with the support of the ANGKASA federation as the Malaysian national cooperative organization." The purpose of the activity is to strengthen the institutional capacity of higher education cooperatives in facing the era of globalization and increase the competitiveness of members at the regional level. The methods used are in the form of Focus Group Discussion (FGD), institutional visits, observation of cooperative practices in the field, and the preparation of multidisciplinary-based action plans involving the fields of economics, law, health, and information technology. The results of the activity show that the internationalization of university cooperatives can be carried out through strengthening cross-border networks, the application of cooperative governance principles based on modern law, the use of digital technology for marketing and administration, and the development of value-added local health and economic products. In conclusion, this international PKM opens up opportunities for academic and practical synergy that are able to expand the role of higher education cooperatives in sustainable development, expand ASEAN cooperation networks, and support the role of academics as agents of transnational change.

The aim of the research was to examine the reasons behind domestic abuse of women in Lubuk Basung District, Agam Regency. This qualitative study used an informant phenomenology design. The 11 informants came from the Agam District DALDUKKBPPPA Office, Toma di Naga Sub-district, and female victims. The study was conducted from August 23 to September 20, 2023. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document review. After that, the data was analyzed, presented, and conclusions were drawn. The results of the current policy input research are limited to the relevant agencies and the amount of funds and human resources available for the program. Existing facilities and infrastructure must be supported by the APBD. Many factors can lead to domestic violence, including third persons, jealousy, financial problems, and drug use.Due to lack of funding and resources, the program did not meet expectations. The conclusion is that programs and information media should be improved to maximize prevention services and decrease domestic violence cases.

Abstract

This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design to measure the effectiveness of a public health campaign in improving balanced nutrition awareness in primary school children. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test using a structured questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the analysis showed a significant increase in the average score of students' knowledge from 65.20  7.80 before the intervention to 88.60  5.20 after the health campaign (p=0.001), as well as students' awareness which increased from 60.30  6.70 to 85.50. This study provides empirical evidence that well-designed nutrition education can be a solution to address nutritional problems in children, such as malnutrition and obesity, thereby supporting the creation of healthier and more productive generation in the future.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that has a serious impact on children's growth and development. This study aims to determine the relationship between low birth weight (LBW) and basic immunization status with the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the Selayo Public Health, Solok Regency in 2019. The study used a case-control design with 58 respondents (29 stunted, 29 not stunted) selected by purposive sampling. Data were obtained through interviews and observations of KIA books, analyzed using the Chi-Square test at a 95% confidence level. The results showed a significant relationship between LBW and the incidence of stunting (p = 0.047; OR = 3.9) and between incomplete basic immunization status and stunting (p = 0.029; OR = 4.1). It was concluded that LBW and basic immunization status play an important role in increasing the risk of stunting. The implications of this study encourage increased nutrition education for pregnant women and the implementation of complete basic immunization to reduce the prevalence of stunting.
