Abstract

Expressing opinion is a speech act that can be considered unpolite if delivered in a direct speech. Therefore, when expressing their opinions Japanese people often use various speech act constructions so that their opinions are not too straight to the point. This is done in order to respect and maintain the interlocutor’s feeling. In this study, the author examines speech acts expressing opinions in everyday conversation by looking at the construction used and its meaning. This research is limited to speech acts expressing opinions or facts in conversations on 1 Rittoru no Namida drama series. The method that used in this reseach is descriptive method. From the results of the study it was found that when expressing opinions or facts, speakers in the drama series 1 Rittoru no Namida used various constructions. The most widely used construction is guess construction. In addition, the construction of approval requests construction, avoidance construction, considerations construction, and elliptical construction are also used on the conversations.Keywords: speech acts, expressing opinions, 1 Rittoru no Namida

Abstract

Japanese has different characteristics from other foreign languages including having kana letters, kanji and romaji. The kana letters include hiraganaand katakana. The katakanaletters are used to write loan word from foreign languages into Japanese. The names from outside Japan are also written using katakana. This study discusses about the writing of names of cities in Java island into Japanese katakanawhich contained in Japanese version of Google Maps. The aims of this study are to know how google.map.jp write the names of cities in Java island using Japanese katakanaand what pattern did they use to write those city’s names. The analysis conducted by using descriptive method. The results of this study revealed that in Japanese version of Google Map, there are 62 city names written in katakana, while the rest are written in romaji. There are eight patterns found in writing the name of the cities using katakana. Those are including writing katakanabased on Hepburnstyle using the KVKV pattern, adding vowels to each closed syllable sound, writing “r” for the sound of “l”, and syllable “ci” written as “chi (チ)” or “shi (シ)”.

Abstract

This study investigates speech act strategies used in earthquake mitigation handbooks in Japan, and focuses on finding the type of communicative functions of the speech act strategies used. The government of Japan has provided online and printed handbooks for the people, to reduce risks to a minimum level regarding the disaster so people can prepare beforehand. The data in this study were collected from online leaflet and handbook regarding earthquake mitigation provided by 9 government city’s websites, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and by collecting actual handbook and leaflets from Indonesian lives in Japan. The data were analysed using descriptive qualitative method. Collected data then categorized into assertive and directive speech acts, negative and positive politeness based on Brown and Levinson’s politeness theory, and focusing on expression of consideration (hairyo hyougen). This study found that there are 659 statements related to earthquake disaster mitigation collected from the data. Also, the findings showed that there are 179 assertive and 480 directives speech acts, with more of imperative directive speech than prohibition directive speech. Moreover, Japanese government tend to use hairyou hyougen on their leaflet and handbook disaster mitigation to show respect to the reader.

Abstract

In this study, researchers analyzed the translated phrases from Japanese into Indonesian done by the sixth semester students of STBA Yapari-ABA Bandung. This research uses descriptive method by describing and interpreting what is in the field, to see conditions, ongoing processes or developing trends. The analysis results concluded that the translation’s tendency of noun-noun phrases, adjective-noun phrases and phrase verbs done by the sixth semester students of STBA Yapari-ABA Bandung is relative based on the words and sentences. The unacceptability tendency of the translation results is caused by the lack of understanding of language, both on the source language and the target language. In terms of phrase structure, the students tend to shift the compulsory and automatic form in the translation.

Abstract

Penelitian deiksis pragmatik mengkaji tentang unsur tuturan dalam komunikasi dengan mempertimbangkan situasi ujaran yang bersifat kontekstual. Pada bahasa Jepang sebagai salah satu bahasa yang mengenal sistem honorifik, deiksis persona beranteseden terhadap pronominal sebagai peran atau peristiwa dalam situasi bahasa. Berdasarkan jenisnya, terdapat tiga kategori deiksis persona yaitu deiksis persona orang pertama, deiksis persona orang kedua dan deiksis persona orang ketiga. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh kesimpulan adanya referen yang berpindah atau berubah tergantung status sosial penutur dan petuturnya.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menganalisis teknik penerjemahan kanjou hyougen dari bahasa Jepang ke dalam berbahasa Indonesia dalam komik “Yakusoku no Neverland (Shirai, 2016).Pertanyaan penelitian ini adalah teknik penerjemahan apa yang digunakan dalam penerjemahan Kanjou hyougen di komik “Yakusoku no Neverland” (Shirai, 2016)? Manfaat yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui teknik penerjemahan apa saja yang digunakan dalam penerjemahan kanjou hyougen pada komik. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan acuan untuk pembuatan dan perbaikan materi ajar pelajaran penerjemahan. Dari hasil analisis disimpulkan bahwa kanjou hyougen yang digunakan dalam komik “Yakusoku no Neverland” (Shirai, 2016) adalah sebanyak 28 buah. Terdapat empat teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan untuk menerjemahkan kanjou hyougen dalam Komik “Yakusoku No Neverland” (Shirai, 2016). Teknik yang paling banyak digunakan adalah teknik modulasi (32, 14%), teknik reduksi (25%), kemudian teknik transposisi (21, 42%) dan teknik harfiah (21, 42%). Teknik transposisi, teknik modulasi dan teknik harfiah digunakan untuk menerjemahkan Shikou Hyoushutsu Kanjou Hyougen, Joui Hyoushutsu Kanjou Hyougen dan Chikaku Hyoushutsu Kanjou Hyougen. Sedangkan teknik reduksi digunakan untuk menerjemahkan Shikou Hyoushutsu Kanjou Hyougen, Joui Hyoushutsu Kanjou Hyougen, dan Chikaku Hyoushutsu Kanjou Hyougen. Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis penggunaan dan penerjemahan danseigo dan joseigo bentuk ninshou daimeishi pada komik “Meitantei Conan Volume 94” (Aoyama, 2017). Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah danseigo dan joseigo bentuk ninshou daimeishi apa saja yang digunakan dalam komik tersebut serta teknik penerjemahan apa yang digunakan dalam penerjemahannya. Dari hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada komik “Meitantei Conan Volume 94” (Aoyama, 2017) digunakan 162 data ninshou daimeishi dengan rincian 107 data danseigo dan 55 data joseigo. Ninshou daimeishi pada danseigo dan joseigo yang paling banyak digunakan adalah jishou ninshou daimeishi (pronomina persona pertama) yaitu boku, bokutachi, ore, oretachi/orera, jibun, dan watashi. Penerjemah mensiasati perbedaan variasi bahasa berdasarkan gender, perbedaan struktur frase, perbedaan sudut pandang, dan perbedaan stilistik yang terdapat pada penggunaan danseigo dan joseigo dalam komik “Meitantei Conan Volume 94” (Aoyama, 2017) dengan menggunakan 6 teknik penerjemahan, yaitu teknik transposisi (22,8%), teknik reduksi (5,6%), teknik modulasi (8,0%), teknik literal (56,8%), teknik kompensasi (5,6%), dan teknik amplifikasi (1,2%).

Abstract

This study examines wakamono kotoba contained in the anime "Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun". The purpose of this study is to describe the types and processes of formation of wakamono kotoba contained in the anime "Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun". The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive using the technique of listening to and recording in data collection. After the data is collected, the data is analyzed with qualitative analysis techniques. The results showed that there are 261 wakamono kotoba data in the anime "Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun" divided into 6 types, namely shouryakugo (49 data), kyouchougo (5 data), giongo-gitaigo (3 data), kogo (2 data), hougen (3 data), and gairaigo (159 data). Through the theory of Japanese word formation (gokeisei), it was found that the wakamono kotoba contained in the anime "Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun" was formed through haseigo (3 data), karikomi/shouryaku (49 data), fukugougo/giseigo (1 data), and toujigo (2 data). Based on the large amount of data, it can be understood that most wakamono kotoba comes from the absorptive language (gairaigo), and is formed through abbreviation (shouryaku).

Abstract

This study examines the illocutionary speech acts in Kimetsu no Yaiba, an anime by Koyoharu Gotouge in 2019. The purpose of this study is to describe the types of illocutionary speech acts used in conversations in the Kimetsu no Yaiba, and to examine the politeness strategies used in conversations in this anime. The method used is the descriptive research method. The data collection used listening and note-taking techniques. The data review technique used is contextual. Based on the analysis, it is found that from 40 data, there are assertive speech acts (8), directive speech acts (22), commissive speech acts (4), expressive speech acts (3) and declarative speech acts (3). The strategies used in the Kimetsu no Yaiba are bald on record (19) used by speakers who are not familiar with speech partners, and speakers who are familiar with speech partners, positive politeness (19) used by speakers who are familiar with speech partners and negative politeness (2) used by speakers who are not familiar with speech partners.
