Abstract

Abstract

In the process of treating raw water into clean water, the pathogenic bacteria must be eliminated. The process of eliminating pathogenic bacteria which then cause an unpleasant odor can be carried out by disinfection. The thing that needs to be considered in the context of disinfection is how to prevent the transfer of germs to the human body through clean water by breaking the chain between the two by means of disinfection. This research begins with a laboratory test of the total coliform content in water treated by Biofilter without disinfection. The laboratory test results showed that the content of Fecal Coli was 1880/100 ml and the bacteria in the Coli group were 2060/100 ml. This parameter must be reduced to the limit according to the Environmental Quality Standard (BML) using a disinfection treatment. From the observations made on the coagulation process from raw water it can be informed that in the range of observed variables, with an increase in the dose of Calcium Hypochlorite (Ca (OCl) 2) from 1 mg / lt to 3 mg / l in the disinfection process, the number of E. coli bacteria which is being lowered more and more. At a dose of Calcium Hypochlorite Ca (OCl) 2 2.5 mg in 1 liter of raw water for the Kebon Agung Canal Drainage Channel with a stirring time of 30 minutes was able to reduce the number of E. Coli bacteria by 99, 40%.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a company that produces hot rolled coils (HRC) steel products. One of the machines used in the process is a rough mill machine in the milling process. The problem is downtime on the rough mill machine that disrupts the production process time. The purpose of this study is to determine the value of the effectiveness of the machine, find the largest losses that affect the value of the effectiveness of the machine, identify the cause of the biggest losses and provide recommendations for improvement steps. The methods used are overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), six big losses, and the failure mode effect and criticality analysis (FMECA). The results show that the average OEE value of PT XYZ is 80%, but this value was still not following the ideal standard. By identifying the six big losses, the most significant losses are reduced speed losses, with a total percentage value of 86% and an average time loss of 5,020 minutes. FMECA results obtain three components that cause the biggest losses: the engine motor, gearbox, and spindle. Recommendations for improvement include making and setting schedules, implementing predictive maintenance and preventive maintenance on rough mill machines, and regularly checking and replacing component spare parts.

Abstract

Increasingly fierce business competition requires companies to be able to meet customer desires on time, in the right amount and in the right quality. FMCG XXX Company is a skin care product manufacturing company that focuses on production activities. Therefore, the company transfers product distribution activities to customers (distributors) to Logistics Service Providers (LSP). FMCG XXX hold consumer’s satisfaction in the highest regard. Along with the increasing number of activities being diverted, FMCG XXX companies aim to evaluate LSP performance through appropriate indicators. The indicators evaluated in this study adopt dimensions in Physical Distribution Service Quality (PDSQ) which consist of three dimensions, namely timeliness, availability and condition. Based on the results of the study, 13 indicators were obtained that FMCG XXX Company used to evaluate LSP performance. In general, around 69% of LSP's actual performance has been able to meet the targets set by the company, where two indicators are able to exceed the target and seven indicators are in accordance with the target. However, the company still has to focus on four indicators that have negative deviations because the actual performance value is less than the target set by the company. Negative indicators come from the availability and condition dimensions. The company coordinates with LSP to design improvement projects in order to improve actual performance according to the company's targets.

Abstract

Central warehouse PT. X is a place to store materials needed for production. PT. X is a large company operating in the maritime and energy sectors. 5S work culture (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seikatsu, Shitsuke) is a work culture adopted from Japan which aims to create an orderly work environment and increase safety, efficiency and reduce non-value added activities. The implementation of the 5S+Safety culture is implemented according to the SOPs in the central warehouse, but the implementation is not optimal. Implementation of the 5S+Safety method in the PT warehouse. X is considered not optimal because only 2S (Seiketsu and Shitsuke) is running well while 4S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Safety) is not running well. Warehouse employees are advised to apply the 5R checklist and carry out routine independent audits which will be supervised by the department head. Therefore, this research was conducted to evaluate the implementation of 5S+Safety in PT. X’s central warehouse. Evaluation results using the 5S+Safety method support increasing company productivity and performance.
