Abstract

Introduction: Indonesia is one of the countries in Asia with the percentage of short toddlers besides Myanmar and Vietnam. Although Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore have stunting cases, the stunting prevalence is less than 20 percent. Objective: To determine the prevalence of stunting and malnutrition in the work area of the Rumah Tiga Health Center. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design with a total sample of 954 children under five. Result: the prevalence of stunting in children under five is 17.9 percent. The Body Mass Index of toddlers with a below-normal category is 4.82 percent. Conclusion: Toddlers who experience stunting occur at the age of 1-3 years and are dominated by males. Toddlers who have a body mass index below normal are also at the age of 1-3 years and are male.

Abstract

These two conditions are interlinked because worm infections can interfere with iron absorption, leading to anaemia. Objective: This initiative aims to provide education and information to mothers with children regarding the prevention and control of parasitic worm infections and anaemia, as well as to conduct early detection of anaemia in children in the hamlets of Hurnaladua and Rupaitu, Tulehu Village, Central Maluku Regency. Methods: The activity was conducted on 23 September 2025, targeting 47 children (infants aged 0–11 months and toddlers aged 12–59 months). The implementation methods included health education on sanitation, personal hygiene, and the prevention of worm infections in mothers, as well as haemoglobin (Hb) level testing using the Hemocue device. Mothers with children suffering from mild anaemia received nutritional counselling, whilst those with moderate–severe anaemia were referred to the community health centre. Results: Of the 47 children, 20 (42.55%) were male and 27 (57.45%) were female; 38 (80.43%) were aged 12–59 months. The examination results showed that 21 children (44.68%) had mild anaemia, and 26 children (55.32%) had normal Hb levels. The educational activities provided information to mothers regarding clean and healthy living practices, as well as the importance of regular health check-ups. Conclusion: The educational programme, anaemia screening, and mass deworming were effective in raising community awareness of the importance of preventing intestinal worm infections and anaemia. Similar activities need to be carried out periodically to reduce the prevalence of these two diseases in endemic areas.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the most common diseases among adults and a leading cause of morbidity. This condition makes hypertension a significant health challenge in various countries, including Indonesia. Medication adherence is crucial for hypertensive patients in controlling their blood pressure. Research suggests that medication adherence can be influenced by a person's knowledge. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of hypertension patients and compliance in taking medication in hypertension patients at the Tutukembong Community Health Center, Tanimbar Islands Regency. This research is an analytical observational study using quantitative methods with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study consisted of 97 individuals (hypertension patients), selected using a purposive sampling technique. Test Chi-Square generate valuep0.036, while the contingency coefficient showed a figure of 0.253. These findings indicate a significant relationship with low strength between the level of knowledge and compliance in taking medication in hypertension patients at the Tutukembong Community Health Center, Tanimbar Islands Regency. There is a significant but weak relationship between the level of knowledge of hypertension patients and compliance with taking medication in hypertension patients at the Tutukembong Community Health Center, Tanimbar Islands Regency. These results indicate that increasing knowledge alone is not enough; other approaches such as motivation, family support, regular monitoring, and other factors are needed to improve compliance in hypertensive patients.
