Abstract

Mangkokan leaves contains flavonoids that are known as natural antioxidant source. The aim of this study is to find the effect of drying temperature variations towards free radical scavenging activity of mangkokan leaves. Mangkokan leaves macerated with 96% ethanol and dried at 40oC, 50oC, and 60oC. Then were macerated with ethanol 96%. Antioxidant activity tested by DPPH method and quercetin was used as positive control. Dry shrinkage with temperatures at 40oC, 50oC, and 60oC were: (9.25 ± 0.276)%; (8.76 ± 0.348)% and (7.97 ± 0.372)%, respectively. Water content at 40oC, 50oC and 60oC were: (5.13 ± 0.575)%; (4.53 ± 0.512)% and (4.04 ± 0.575)%, respectively. The antioxidant potency of 96% ethanolic mangkokan leaves by ES50 value at drying temperatures 40oC, 50oC, 60oC and quercetin were (1.75 ± 0.058); (2.39 ± 0,089); (5.38 ± 0,078) mg/ml and (9.16x10-4 ± 4.36x10-5) mg/ml. Ethanolic extract of mangkokan leaves which dried at 40oC has biggest radical DPPH scavenging activity but much weaker than quercetin.

Abstract

The modules used by teachers at SMK Taruna Pekanbaru still do not encourage independent learning interest for students, because the modules used have not been conceptualized in a complete form and the material provided is not fully in accordance with the basic competencies in the curriculum applied at school. The media used still uses blackboard media and lecture methods so that students feel bored and have no motivation to learn. This study aims to produce a Flipbook-based E-Module in the subject of vocational basics of electronic engineering that is valid and practical. The research used the Research and Development method with the 4-D model which was modified into a 3-D model, namely Define, Design and Development. The research subjects were X TE class students of SMK Taruna Pekanbaru. The research instruments were validity questionnaire and practicality questionnaire. The results obtained in the form of E-Module validity data from media experts and material experts with very valid categories and practicality results from teacher and student responses with very practical results.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest palm oil producers in the world, so Indonesia has a role in meeting global demand for palm oil. Indonesia has extensive palm oil plantations in various states, producing around 43 million tons of palm oil. In general, Pekanbaru Riau, in the higher areas the soil is of the Red Yellow Podzolic (PMK) type, while in the lower areas the soil is peat type. PMK mineral soil has a thickness of organic soil material < 60 cm and some of it is still experiencing decomposition so it still contains a lot of fiber so that the agroecosystem on this soil will experience many problems, especially in dry areas with high slopes so that crop cultivation farmers have difficulty measuring soil moisture. Plant seeds cannot live and develop well if soil moisture does not meet requirements. For this reason, it is necessary to fertilize the seeds regularly, on a schedule and have sufficient water available. Based on the problems above, an oil palm tree nursery system was developed using the (Internet of Things) concept. Remote monitoring and control of the tool can be done via an Android application and real time internet access. From the test results of the two tools, namely the soil moisture monitoring system and the moist detector analyzer, the data obtained from soil measurements on oil palm seedlings shows very close measurement values, even from several experiments the data shown is very close, only 1-2%. Of course, from the data displayed the researcher made a comparison with the appropriate/unsuitable information as a reference for the suitability of this tool to be used
