Abstract

Research Originality: This research prioritizes a more in-depth analysis of OIC member countries with different income categories. The research also focuses on developing a more robust and integrated modeling framework that can capture the dynamic interactions between inflation, economic growth, and food production. Research Objectives: This study investigates the impact of economic growth and inflation on food production in both the short and long term. Research Methods: This study uses panel data from 40 OIC member countries from 1992 to 2021. This study employs Panel Autoregressive Distributed Lag (PARDL) and categorizes OIC member countries based on income classifications: High-Income, upper-middle, lower-middle, and Low-Income countries. Empirical Results: The findings indicate that economic growth and inflation substantially impact food production over the long term. Certain countries exhibit a beneficial impact, whereas others demonstrate a detrimental effect. Implications: This research can provide new insights into the complex relationship between macroeconomic indicators and food availability, and it can be used to inform policymaking recommendations. In addition, the findings can support policymakers in formulating more effective strategies to shift policy towards sustainability. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of microeconomic variables on financial statement performance and of macroeconomic variables on the profitability of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia. In the data analysis, the Error Correction Model (ECM) is applied to monthly observation data for the 2014-2023 period. The results showed that in the short term, the variables of inflation, exchange rate, BI Rate, FDR, BOPO, and DPK did not influence ROA (profitability). On the other hand, in the long term, only the exchange rate variable has no effect; the remaining inflation, BI Rate, FDR, BOPO, and DPK variables affect ROA. For this reason, banks themselves need to play a significant role in strengthening risk management to address dynamic changes in profitability-related variables.

Abstract

Training on Submitting Halal Certification Through the Self-Declare Mechanism for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pontianak City aims to increase the understanding and ability of MSME actors in the halal certification process, especially with the self-declare method. This training was given to participants totaling 30 representatives of MSMEs in Pontianak City. This training was carried out in several stages, including the delivery of material on halal certification regulations, procedures for filling out the required documents, selecting raw materials that comply with halal standards, and assistance in the certification registration process. The results of the training showed that the majority of participants, namely MSME players in Pontianak City, experienced a significant increase in understanding of the requirements and procedures for applying for halal certification. In addition, participants were also given simulations of filling out forms and practical assistance that helped speed up the process of applying for certification. The post-training evaluation showed an increase in the participants' ability to compile the required administrative documents, as well as in ensuring that the entire production process meets halal standards. As a result, some participants successfully applied for halal certification through the self-declare mechanism more confidently and effectively. This training is expected to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs and open up opportunities for expansion of the halal product market at the national and international levels.
