Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study were: (1) to know the  differences of learning achievment on the  molecular shape subject between the students who  taught by inquiry learning and verification (2) to know the  differences betwen the high spatial ability to the students learning achievement in the molecular shape topic (3) to know the interaction between the  inquiry learning and verification teaching with the students’ spatial ability. The results showed that: (1) there were differences in learning achievment of students who were taught by inquiry learning and verification. The students’ learning achievment of students who were taught by inquiry learning better than students who were taught by verification (2) there were differences between in learning outcomes of students with high spatial and students with low spatial, students who have high spatial performance is better than low spatial ability students the high spatial ability to the students learning achievement in the molecular shape topic (3) there were not  interaction between  inquiry learning and verification methods  with the students’ spatial ability.Key Words: inquiry learning, visibility space, learning achievment   Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan hasil belajar pada pokok bahasan bentuk molekul antara siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan inkuiri terbimbing dan pendekatan verifikasi (2) mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan antara kemampuan kemampuan pandang ruang tinggi dan rendah terhadap hasil belajar siswa (3). mengetahui apakah terdapat interaksi antara cara pengajaran Inkuiri terbimbing dan verifikasi dengan kemampuan pandang ruang siswa.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan cara inkuiri terbimbing dan verifikasi. Hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan cara inkuiri terbimbing lebih baik dibanding dengan siswa yang diajar dengan cara verifikasi (2) ada perbedaan kemampuan pandang ruang tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar kimia pada bentuk molekul, hasil belajar kimia dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan pandang ruang siswa (3) tidak ada interaksi antara metode pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dan verifikasi dengan kemampuan pandang ruang siswa.Kata kunci: pendekatan inkuiri terbimbing, kemampuan pandang ruang, hasil belajar

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the effect of subject majoring and gender on learning outcomes and scientific process skills. This research applied an expost facto with a 2 x 2 factorial design. The sam-ple were the 11th grade students of a Senior High School in Gresik, Indonesia. The number of students’ were 65 majoring in MIA(math and science) and 68 majoring in IIS (social science). The data were collected using observation and test and analyzed using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (Manova). The result showed that the students’ learning outcomes and scientific process skills of those majoring in MIA was higher than of the group majoring in IIS. There were no differences in students’ learning outcomes and scientific process skills between groups of males and females.Key Words: subject majoring, gender, learning outcomes, scientific process skillsAbstrak: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) pengaruh kelompok peminatan mata pelajaran ter-hadap hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses ilmiah dan 2) pengaruh kelompok gender terhadap hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses ilmiah siswa. Penelitian ex-post fakto dengan desain faktorial 2 x 2. Sub-jek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Assa’adah Kabupaten Gresik yang terdiri dari kelas XI MIA 65 siswa dan XI IIS 68 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes. Pengujian hi-potesis menggunakan prosedur statistik manova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses ilmiah lebih baik pada kelompok peminatan MIA dibanding kelompok peminatan IIS. Kelompok gender tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses ilmiah.Kata kunci: peminatan mata pelajaran, gender, hasil belajar, keterampilan proses ilmiah

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to reduce the alternative concepts of students with EPCOER learning models and POE learning models on thermochemical material. This study used a test instrument in the form of three tier tests having 98% content validity. Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.881 with a very high category. The research was conducted in two research classes at high school. The results showed a decrease in the alternative concepts that students had before learning. There were differences in the alternative concepts of students in the experimental and control classes, which students in experimental class had fewer alternative concepts compared to the student in the control class. The reduction in the alternative concepts of students were showed by the difference of students pretest and posttest scores.Key Words: EPCOER, initial knowledge, alternative conceptsAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mereduksi konsep alternatif siswa dengan model pembelajaran EPCOER dan model pembelajaran POE pada materi termokimia. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes berupa three tier test yang memiliki validitas isi 98% dengan kriteria sangat baik dan koefisien reliabilitas Alpha Cronbach 0,881 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada dua kelas di SMA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan konsep alternatif yang dimiliki siswa antara sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran, di mana hasil penelitian konsep alternatif siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol menunjukkan ada perbedaan. Hasil reduksi konsep alternatif siswa ditunjuk-kan oleh beda skor pretes dan postes siswa, di mana skor postes siswa lebih tinggi dari pada postes.Kata kunci: EPCOER, pengetahuan awal, konsep alternatif
