Abstract

With the digitalization of industry, many of business operations depend upon the data which either support them or reject them due to versatile reasons. Such data has been managing through big data analytics now which has diverse benefits ranged from transaction to strategic benefits. However, their implication on financial performance of manufacturing firms in Thailand has stayed as grey area in literature. This study has aimed to analyze the impact of data driven supply chain orientation on financial performance in manufacturing firms of Thailand in mediating role of transactional, transformational, strategic and informational benefits of big data. Almost 42 manufacturing organizations have been surveyed in this regard which were currently engaged in big data operations and data has been collected from their employees through questionnaire. SEM and CFA were run to analyze the data to analyze hypotheses and model fitness respectively. Results have depicted that data driven supply chain significantly enhances financial performance through big data benefits and also in its direct path too. This study can help manufacturing firms in Asia to incorporate big data analytics in their manufacturing systems to ensure good financial health.

Abstract

The prime objective of the current study is to investigate the relationship between supplier social responsibility, quality costing and supply chain performance of firms in the Indonesian rubber industry. The research focuses on the Indonesian rubber industry, which is attracting the foreign investors recently. This has resulted in the entrance of several manufacturers in the Indonesian markets. The author has employed the SEM-PLS to answer the research question raised in the current study. The researchers have suggested that the Indonesian rubber industry has started working on the sustainability issues across the supply chains. This has been supported with the results of this research. This has resulted in the entrance of several manufacturers in the Indonesian markets. The competition has become intention between the Indonesian rubber companies and the managers are focusing on the standards such as quality, cost, flexibility, and delivery for sustaining in the competition.

Abstract

This study empirically investigates the relation between modularity and the impact it has on competitive performance of firms. It focuses on both the dimensions of modularity including process and product modularity. With the vast development of supply chain integration in firms, this study focuses on the quality management perspective of firms by assimilating supply chain integration system with it. Supply chain quality integration system has attained a significant attention over the world that allow firms to strategically collaborate its external and internal supply chain processes in order to obtain high level quality and competitive performance. Using survey method, this study construct a questionnaire to collect data from the manufacturing firms of Thailand. The data collected from those firms in the form of 304 respondents is analyzed by using statistical tools including SPSS and AMOS by running various tests such as descriptive statistics, reliability tests, CFA and SEM to identify the theoretical relationships between variables. The results of this study clearly depicts that both process and product modularity signifies a positive association with competitive performance of firms. It also signifies the mediation impact of supply chain quality integration between modularity and performance. It means that integrated supply chain practices enhance the development of better quality and innovative products. It also help firms in improving their set up processes by reducing costs and delivery timings to the end users that effectively influence competitive strategies.
