Kerajinan Perak Koto Gadang adalah usaha kerajinan turun temurun dimana semuaKepala Keluarga dalam satu Nagari Koto Gadang memiliki usaha kerajinan perak dan hal inimerupakan potensi yang dinilai layak untuk dikembangkanArtikel ini bertujuan untuk menemukan strategi yang tepat bagi pengembangan usahakerajinan Perak Koto Gadang, dengan ditemukannya strategi tersebut dapat menjadikanindusri kerajinan perak Koto Gadang ini menjadi salah satu ikon bagi Provinsi SumateraBarat dan sekaligus dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan pelaku usaha. Abstract

Kerancang embroidery business is a small business which mostly done by people inBukitinggi. The purpose of this activity is to provide guidance to Kerancang embroiderybusinesses, including human resource development through capacity building ofmanagement attempt to generate better production and clean by using a painting techniquethrough flour singkuit and improve the ability of business in terms of media, using theinternet to generate design are more varied, interesting and high value. The method used isin the form of training, discussion, question and answer session and bring the perpetratorsembroidered practitioners who have proven to be good and acceptable to the market. Thisactivity proved to be very beneficial for a business partner in improving the ability toproduce better products and can compete in the market. Through this activity, theproblems faced by business partners can be resolved so that will increase productivity,which in turn will improve the economy of the small business members.Key word: Kerancang embroidery, business partner, training, practitioners

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the impact of Covid-19 pandemic in terms of socio-economy based on the demographic characteristics of the people in West Sumatra. The data collection method is secondary data, namely data from West Sumatra Provincial BPS and Padang City BPS 2020. Data processing is descriptive quantitative. The discussion of the research analysis is explained in depth and the interpretation of the data is presented in a straightforward and detailed manner in order to produce conclusions containing short answers to the formulation of the problem based on the data that has been collected. The results of the study concluded that there were changes in the socio-economic conditions of the people of West Sumatra according to demographic characteristics due to the Covid-19 pandemic, including the emergence of new habits, workers being temporarily laid off, using restricted public transportation, implementing WFH at work, the service sector being the most affected. As a result of Covid-19, workers in the Wholesale and Retail Trade, Car and Motorcycle Repair, Transportation and Warehousing sectors, as well as the Accommodation and Food and Drink Provision sectors were the most affected, increasing spending and decreasing income.

Abstract

This article aims to examine three locations for the construction of a new traditional market in Padang City, which is the result of a recommendation from a research conducted by Suryani (2015). Through this research researchers will test 1 (one) location of the development of a new traditional market in the city of Padang. That is the location between Simpang Haru Market and Bandar Buat Market. The test results provide recommendations on whether or not the location requires a new traditional market. The methodology used is testing the new location with the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method, and the assessment indicator consists of the population, location development measured by socio-economic changes, people's spending habits around the location of the people's market development plan, the purchasing power of residents around the location of market development plans people, differences in social status, number, area, type and location of old markets, accessibility, and physical condition of the natural environment around the planned location of the construction of a new people's market. The results of the study concluded that the testing of the location between the Simpang Haru Market and the Bandar Buat Market resulted in a range of judgments that were in a position quite high. Figures with a fairly high predicate provide recommendations that in these locations require a traditional maid market that can serve the needs of society optimally in areas that are not included in the broad slice of the nearest traditional market

Abstract

This study aims to analyze eight traditional markets managed by the Padang City Government. This analysis is to provide recommendations for changes or improvements to each traditional market which is one of the drivers of the economy of community, especially Padang City. The method of data collection is carried out on two types of data, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data through structured interviews in the form of questionnaires given to each buyer who visited eight traditional markets managed by the Padang City Government. While secondary data is obtained from agencies or agencies that are related to the object of research. The indicators used are hygiene factors, accessibility factors, merchant and goods factors, supporting support factors and supporting infrastructure factors. The results of the analysis conclude that from the eight traditional markets managed by Padang City Government, Bandar Buat Market, Tanah Kongsi Market, Alai Market and Market Siteba ranks Very Good. While the Simpang Haru Market, Ulak Karang Market and Lubuk Buaya Market have a Good rating, and the Belimbing Market has a Pretty Good rating. With these results, it is recommended to recommend a number of traditional markets that must be arranged, and developed, namely: Bandar Buat Market, Haru Simpang Tanah Kong, Ulak Karang, Alai, Siteba, Belimbing, and Lubuk Buaya, although the facilities are complete and the results of the buyer's assessment are good. Drainage repair, arrangement of parking locations, availability of clean water are things that must be considered to create security and comfort for buyers and sellers.

Abstract

An area has its own income, usually derived from the transaction process carried out in it. This is called an economic indicator. This economic indicator is used to see the rate of economic growth that has levels from national to regional. At the regional level, such as provinces, districts / cities and even sub-districts, this is known as the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Because of its role as one of the main indicators in the economy, making this GDP automatically plays an important role. Therefore, the purpose of writing this article is to monitor economic developments that occur in the area, especially in Padang city as the capital of West Sumatra Province. The research method used is a qualitative method by describing the development of Padang City's GDP according to the field of business in 2014-2019 and conducting an analysis within a period of five years. The type of data used is primary data from the Regional Apparatus Organization in Padang and BPS as a source of secondary data. The results of the analysis illustrate that the economic structure of Padang city in 2018 is dominated by 4 sectors as seen from the distribution of the 2018 GDP percentage, namely; Large and Retail Trade, Car and Motorcycle Repair (16.91%), Transportation and Warehousing (16.73%), Manufacturing Industry (13.12%) and Construction (10.38%). These four sectors contributed 57.14% of the total 2018 GRDP which contributed to the 6.09% economic growth in Padang City. The fifth sector is Information and Communication by 6.97%.

Abstract

This study aims to find out what is needed by the company for prospective employees. Higher Education is a producer of labor so that what is produced must be in line with industry needs. This research was conducted by survey method using a questionnaire instrument. The number of respondents was 139 people who were spread out in all regions with respondents being alumni users or company owners / managers who had been alumni from 2014 to 2018. The results of the study revealed that there were some skills that alumni had to have, namely foreign language skills, personality good and in accordance with job specifications, the ability to use computer equipment, communication skills and others. This ability has special requirements for alumni in getting jobs both private companies and state-owned or civil servants. The limitation of this study is that the questions raised are limited to alumni users but there are still many other questions that should also be important for universities and for further research this can be done.

Abstract

Advertising acts as a medium that will introduce a product or service provide an explanation of the benefits and attract someone to consume it. Nowadays advertisements can be displayed in print and electronic media. Businesses, non-profit organizations and even government agencies use almost all types of media to advertise. Padang City Tourism Office as a government agency that deals with Padang City tourism uses electronic media in promoting the attractions of Padang City. Promotional media used are Instagram, advertising media based on social media applications. This article aims to investigate whether the advertisements or information provided by Instagram has been effective. The effectiveness evaluation of the Instagram uses the EPIC Model approach which consists of four variable dimensions: (1) Empathy, (2) Persuasion, (3) Impact and (4) Communication. The four dimensions were analyzed through answers obtained through a survey of 120 respondents. From the analysis done, it can be seen that Instagram in general can be categorized as an effective promotional media. But there are still a few things that need to be considered so that the effectiveness of this media achieves maximum quality, namely: (1) The completeness and updating of the information presented must be maintained in order to attract empathy from the connoisseurs of advertising; (2) creativity in compiling ad content needs to be developed in order to appear happy feelings and desires to become followers of the Instagram account; (3) Instagram should have its own communication style such as creating an interesting narration to accompany a photo or video so as to create a deep impression for ad lovers.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang permasalahan-permasalahan yang terdapat dalam mitra binaan dan memberikan solusi bagi mitra tersebut dalam bentuk kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Mitra yang dipilih yaitu UKM Marisa yang memproduksi serundeng ubi. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah merubah pola kerja dan proses produksi serta pembenahan aspek pemasaran yang menjadi faktor utama permasalahan dalam UKM tersebut. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dibagi dalam dua cara. Bidang produksi dilakukan dengan mengubah cara berproduksi secara manual menjadi proses produksi menggunakan mesin, sedangkan bidang pemasaran dengan memberikan pemahaman pentingnya kemasan dan merek yang menarik untuk sebuah produk. Hasil yang diperoleh dengan adanya pengabdian pada masyarakat adalah terjadinya peningkatan kualitas produksi serundeng ubi, penggunaan kemasan produk yang sesuai dengan standar serta desain merek yang menarik dan informatif. Dengan perubahan yang terjadi, maka permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra sudah dapat teratasi dan diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi peningkatan perekonomian UKM Marisa.
