Abstract

Halal industry is a huge business.  The business is not Muslim-specific yet some of the non-Muslim consumers become a regular user of halal products due to holistic conception of halal itself-cleanliness and wholesomeness.  Such development shows that halal awareness is evident among Muslim and non-Muslim consumers.  Halal awareness has been cited as the major determinant for intention to purchase halal products but lack is understand what made up halal awareness that lead to halal consumption.  Rooted from ATAR model, this study aims to examine the effect of halal product accessibility and availability on halal awareness of packaged food products in Malaysia and Thailand consumers.  In addition, halal awareness also proposed to influence intention to purchase halal packaged food products.  The study among 760 consumers in Malaysia and Thailand revealed that accessibility enhanced halal awareness for Muslim-dominant country whereby availability plays a crucial role in explaining halal awareness for non-Muslim-dominant country.  Theoretical and managerial implication as well as future direction of the study is discussed at the end of the article.

Abstract

Overcrowding in correctional facilities, particularly at the Class I Pondok Bambu Detention Center, has created significant challenges for maintaining the effectiveness of security patrols. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in enhancing the accountability and performance of patrol officers. The research is grounded in organizational effectiveness theory, specifically the goal attainment, system resource, and internal process approaches. Employing a qualitative descriptive case study design, the study involved key informants including the head of the security unit, shift commanders, and security officers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, and analyzed thematically using the Miles and Huberman framework with triangulation to ensure credibility. The findings demonstrate that the implementation of RFID improved officers’ compliance with patrol checkpoints, strengthened transparency in patrol reporting, and enhanced response time to security incidents. The study concludes that RFID serves as an effective technological tool to support accountability, discipline, and organizational effectiveness within correctional institutions. The novelty of this research lies in its contextual contribution as one of the first empirical studies in Indonesia to investigate the application of RFID in correctional facility security management, expanding its utilization beyond industrial and commercial settings.

Abstract

This study explores teachers' readiness and perceptions regarding the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) in STEM education. The research, conducted with 250 teachers from Indonesia and Malaysia, uses an explanatory survey design and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze a framework combining Teacher Readiness, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and Deep Learning Orientation. The results reveal that Teacher Readiness significantly influences Perceived Ease of Use (β = 0.48) and Perceived Usefulness (β = 0.42), which in turn affect Attitude Toward Use (β = 0.31) and Behavioral Intention (β = 0.52). Behavioral intention strongly predicts Deep Learning Orientation (β = 0.57). The model explains 56% of the variance in Behavioral Intention and 32% in Deep Learning Orientation. Multi-group analysis shows that these findings are consistent across countries, genders, education levels, and age groups, demonstrating the robustness and generalizability of the model. This research highlights the importance of teacher readiness in adopting AR technology, which fosters deeper learning in STEM education
