Abstract

The current study has placed an effort to disclose the application of the social capital theory in the supply chain. The Thai global buyers’ firms are taken as the final sample of the study. The SEM-PLS is used to analyze the data.  It has been revealed in the present research that the focus of social capital is on the creation and knowledge sharing within and across the organizations. This is also indicated by the current research. It has been argued by the prior studies that the use of different organization and outcomes of social capital will benefit the future research including the factors of cost, quality, and flexibility. It has been indicated by the results of current research that social capital theory can be applied to the relation of buyer and supplier with reference to the development of supplier. The statement that there is need for more investigation for the various dimensions of social capital related to relational embeddedness, structural embeddedness and cognitive dimension. It is found that the achievements of buyer performance in the form of total cost is explained by the relational capital in terms of buyer-supplier dependence and cognitive capital in shared values, and structural capital in terms of activities of supplier development. Cognitive capital and relationship commitment are the common explanatory variables for the both performance dimensions.

Abstract

The current study is carried out to explore role of big data analytics in the relationship among the collaboration types, supply chain management and market performance of Thai manufacturing firms. It has been revealed through literature review that collaboration among the firms is more than just coordination. It is referred as inter-firm interaction with key focus on strategies. This type of collaboration can be witnessed in two different ways, which include STRC and SYSCL [1] . The concepts of STRC and SYSCL have not been recognized separately in literature as they create difference influences on the performance of firm. The study has employed the SEM-PLS to analyze the data. The study broached an argument that the system collaboration includes coordination, sharing of information, and activities management for planning and forecasting of demand. The next level of inter-firm interaction is the STRC. In this advanced level, achievements are more than just SYSCL. The level with which the partners in supply chain plan different business activities with the shared vision to improve the performance of each other is referred as STRC.

Abstract

The study is carried out to explore the role of big data analytics in determine the relationship between green product innovation, market demand and the performance of motorcycle manufacturing firms in Thailand. The current study which basically is an empirical research theoretically as well as methodologically contributed in the existing literature, particularly, in the Thailand’s motorcycle industry. It is obvious that adopting green product innovation in highly competitive market is imperative, since it facilitates in achieving competitive advantage and product differentiation [1].the data is collected from the motorcycle manufacturing firms in Thailand. The SEM-PLS is used to analyse the data. The findings of the study have shown consistency with the hypothesized results as well as the prior findings. Although, the results have shown that it is important for firms to understand the requirements of its consumers, followed by the alignment of product innovation initiatives to the values of consumers. In the recent green conscious competitive environment, brand identity and design, price, fuel consumption, and exhaust emission are some of the important criteria which are generally considered by consumers while taking a motorbike purchasing decision. Another study has attempted to analyse BDA and the computer-assisted textual analysis, as well as its application in the transportation and logistics system. For the managers, the current research emphasizes the strategic significance of green product decisions. It also explains that firm performance and green product innovation must also integrate knowledge of market demand as important consideration.

Abstract

The prime objective of the currents study is to explore and describe an innovative supply chain for the Thai manufacturing firms.  The study has examined the direct impact of SC partner innovation, product innovation strategy, organizational innovation climate (OIC) and strategic relationship on the partner innovation performance. In addition to that the mediating role of product innovation strategy in the relationship between SC partner innovation and partner innovation performance is examined. Finally, the study has examined the moderating roe of organizational innovation climate and strategic relationship. The knowledge-based view and the social capital theory are used to develop the conceptual model. This idea has been extended in this research by analyzing the way in which it happens. For instance, it has been argued that there is a need for a suitable internal environment for innovation that can improve the chain of innovation linking innovativeness of partners in the supply chain with innovation strategy of the focal firm. In the next step, the right external climate can be set by establishing a strategic relation with partners in the supply chain to get innovative ideas. Lack of a cooperative environment cannot result in effective knowledge sharing with the partners in the network. This research study is unique in the sense that it complements the innovation chain with climate chain. Additions are made to the current knowledge by this study through the extension of the fact that value chains and SC for understanding the process of innovation chains. It is revealed through PIS that there is a positive influence on the performance of product innovation. There is a need to blend the internal climate for innovation and the external efforts with important suppliers to tap innovative ideas.

Abstract

The present study emphasized the integration of medical tourism supply chain   practices among organizations, its antecedents as well as consequences in the medical tourism industry. The study has used the survey-based methodology and employed SEM-PLS as a statistical tool to answer the research questions raised in the study. The findings of this study confirmed the significance of mutual dependency in medical tourism supply chain, and also reported that there is lack of commitment as well as trust within the medical tourism supply chain   members’, which has not identified completely in earlier researches. In the meantime, medical tourism supply chain   information sharing, and coordination also found to be the significant contributory factors in improving the performance of organization. However, certain level of integration and collaboration is still missing in medical tourism supply chain, due to certain deficiencies. Thus, medical tourism is an important sector and business for the tourism industry in Thailand, which needs to enhance SC operations to outperform its competitors and for achieving competitive advantage. The study provides guideline to researchers, policymakers and researchers and argues that the drivers of medical tourism supply chain i.e. mutual dependency, commitment and trust must be focused as those organizational areas which require more efforts to enhance medical tourism supply chain relationships.

Abstract

The main objective of the current study is to examine the impact of the strategic leadership, and the organizational innovation on the firm supply performance. Additionally, the study has examined the mediating role information technology capability in the relationship between the strategic leadership and firm supply performance, and between the organizational innovation and firm supply performance. The study has used the resource-based view, the theory is useful for IT research through resource attributes, which facilitates the relationship between IT resources and non-IT resources, since the resource-based theory establishes a clear link between resources and sustained competitive advantage. It is generally agreed upon by information system scholars that IT capabilities can act as key enablers of higher order organizational capabilities or interact with other. The study has used the SEM-PLS to examine the relationship between and among the variables. The response rate of the current study is 44.7 percent. The results have highlighted that the relationship between strategic leadership, organizational innovativeness and firm supply performance are significant. Results from the study give support to the key theoretical propositions. Precisely, the present study has succeeded in answering all the research questions as well as the objectives despite some of limitations. While there have been, numerous studies investigating the factors that affect strategy implementation, however, the current study addressed the theoretical gap by incorporating IT capability as a significant mediating variable for strategic leadership.

Abstract

The prime objective of the current study is to investigate the determinant of the green supply chain, the impact of the green supply chain on the sustainable performance and lastly the impact of the sustainable performance eon the organizational performance of the Thai chemical firms. The study has employed the survey-based method to answer the research questions as manufacturing managers are surveyed as ultimately, manufacturing managers are responsible for the performance of the organizations for which they work. The SEM-PLS is used to analyze the data collected from the manufacturing managers of Thai chemical firms. The literature provides considerable empirical evidence regarding the linkage of supply chain success with the ERP information mechanism, which helps to share information between the partnering firms. The findings of the study have provided support to the hypotheses results. The consideration of four green constructs in the model explains that cooperation causes largest influence on the environmental performance, next comes the investment recovery and eco-design. However, no significant association was found between cooperation with customers and economic or environmental performance particularly in case of greater customer pressure for adopting environment friendly practices in Thailand.

Abstract

This research paper assesses the role of supply chain uncertainties on the supply chain performance in the manufacturing companies while considering the role of organisational centralisation. This paper has made use of quantitative data where survey questionnaire was used to collect data from 355 employees and managers working in the manufacturing sector. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) has been used as the main data analysis instrument. The results of this paper suggests that supply chain uncertainties cannot be considered as an individual factors during the decision making because the organisation structure play an integral role in explaining the relationship of uncertainties with supply chain performance. The model has suggested that customer demand uncertainty has a significant impact over the supply chain performance due to the sig value obtained from the SEM. However, the remaining factors that are: manufacturing uncertainties, customer delivery uncertainty, and supplier performance uncertainty does not have a significant impact on the supply chain performance of manufacturing companies.
