Abstract

Background: The state of emergency at school is a crisis condition of an environmental or individual condition. An emergency situation can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Critical patients are a condition of one or more system organ failures that are irreversible. Purpose : The purpose of this study is to determine the level of perception emergency skills in youth red cross at Senior High School 3 Kediri City. Methods : Research Design was descriptive analitic. The population was the students who are members of the youth red cross at the Senior High School 3 Kediri City. Sample ware 35 respondents based on inclusion and exclusion criteria using purposive sampling. The variable ware skill in performing the act of measurement of blood pressure, pulse, temperature position the victim fainted because of low blood pressure, position the victim fainted because of asthma, open wounds dressing, splinting of extremities injured or fracture, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, removing off helmet and fixation of the neck victims of traffic accidents. Measuring devices using Analog Range Scale (ARS 1-10): Skill. Result : The results showed that the mean score of less than 5 was on the skill lift the victim fainted because of low blood pressure (4.60 ± 2.51), splinting of extremities injured or fracture (4.77 ± 2.52), cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and removing the helmets and fixation of neck victims of traffic accidents (1.63 ± 2.47). The results of the study also found that 8 groups of data had a skewness ratio of -2 / + 2, and a group of non-distributed data on cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills (3.42), and removal of helmets and neck injuries for traffic casualties (4.77 ). Conclusion : Increased preparedness with training is required in schools to reduce the risk of emergency or disaster events

Abstract

Bacground: Complaints in critical patients are an unpleasant experience as long as patients are admitted to the ICU. Critical patients with pain are still common and need collaboration to reduce patients in the ICU.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the Pain Level Description of Critical Patients with Sleep Hygiene Care in the Intensive Care Unit.Method: Research design is descriptive-analytic. The study population was all critical patients in the ICU. The study sample was a portion of critical patients who received 170 sleep hygiene care patients. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The research variable is a description of the patient's pain level. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data were collected and analyzed using the frequency distribution method.Result: The results of the pain indicator on the Facial Expression study found that the majority of respondents showed grimacings (46.6%), Body movements study found that most showed restlessness (39.4%), Vocalization found that almost all respondents showed Tolerating ventilator or movement / Talking in normal tone / no sound (72.9%), Muscle tension assessment found that most respondents showed Relaxed as much (51.8%). The results of the study showed that the pain scale based on CPOT of the majority of respondents had mild pain as many as 64 respondents (37.6%).Conclusion: Pain description in critical patients with sleep hygiene care shows that there are still many patients who feel pain and need identification and further intervention to reduce it.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension is a result of blood circulation problem. If a patient does not get proper treatment her/his condition will be worse. Therefore the number of morbidity and mortality will progressively increase and health problem in society will be hard improved. The objective of this research was to analyze the influence deep breathing relaxation therapy toward the change of blood pressure on hypertension’s patient at Puskesmas Kota Wilayah Selatan Kota Kediri. The design of this research was quasy experiment non equivalent control group design. Population was the hypertension’s patient at Puskesmas Kota Wilayah Selatan Kota Kediri. The samples were 44 respondents based on inclusion and exclusion criterion on purposive sampling. The independent variable was deep breathing relaxation therapy and the dependent variable was blood pressure. The data was collected using mercurial sphygmomanometer. It was analyzed using paired sample t test and independent samples t test with significant level α < 0.05. The result showed that systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure of control group did not significantly change (p systolic=0,665 and p diastolic=0.825), while the blood pressure of experiment group significantly decrease (p systolic=0.000) and p diastolic=0.000). It was proved by the difference between experiment group and control group (p systolic=0.000) and p diastolic=0.000). Practicing deep breathing relaxation therapy for 15 minutes can decrease systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. The different mean of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure decrease were 9.00 mmHg and 10.00 mmHg. The different mean of systolic blood pressure decrease on experiment group was 50 times than the result in control group, while the different mean of diastolic blood pressure experiment group was 111.11 times than the result in control group. The conclusion there was significant influence of deep breathing relaxation therapy toward the change of blood pressure. Keywords: blood pressure, hypertension, deep breathing relaxation therapy

Abstract

Earthquakes can cause many victims if capacity building is not carried out in vulnerable communities. Elementary school (SD) students need to be informed about earthquake preparedness so that they continue to be prepared for earthquake alerts. This study aims to analyze the effect of earthquake natural disaster mitigation training on Senden 2 Elementary School students, Kediri District, East Java. The method used is training with a pre post test design approach. The population is students of SDN Senden 2. The variables measured are knowledge and skills. The training involved 35 elementary school students consisting of grade IV students. The instrument used is the Knowledge Questionnaire. The intervention provided is disaster management training in the classroom and outside the classroom. Based on the results of the study it was found that the results of the pre test were mostly obtained by respondents having insufficient knowledge about earthquake disaster mitigation as many as 23 respondents (65.71%), while the results of the post test were mostly obtained by respondents having sufficient knowledge about earthquake natural disaster mitigation as many as 19 respondents (54.29%). The statistical test results with the Wilcoxon test obtained p value = 0.001 (a <0.05) which means that there is an effect of earthquake natural disaster mitigation training on knowledge of students at SDA Negeri Senden 2, Kediri District, East Java. Earthquake disaster mitigation training must continue to be carried out to increase student awareness and reduce disaster victims due to unpredictable earthquakes. Abstract

Background: While critical care focuses on survival, it may unintentionally overlook aspects of comfort, dignity, and communication that are essential to quality end-of-life care. This scoping review aimed to identify existing outcome indicators, highlight gaps, and propose potential quality indicators for palliative care in ICU settings. Methods: Fifty-seven databases were searched for relevant publications published between January 2000 and December 31, 2024. The inclusion criteria were full-text, peer-reviewed journal articles in English, consisting of final versions of original or review studies conducted in adult ICUs. Case studies, perspectives, editorials, and reports were excluded. This study used the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses extension for scoping reviews (PRISMA-ScR) approach. We reviewed the literature across multiple databases, including PubMed, ProQuest, EBSCOhost, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and BASE. We carried out the ScR according to the structure suggested by Arksey and O'Malley. Results: This review included 57 studies, with a total of 158 codes representing 122 unique codes, which were grouped into 29 sub-themes (categories of palliative care outcomes) within five main themes: communication and palliative care consultation, end-of-life care decisions, symptom management and comfort, psychosocial well-being of patients and families, and ethics and the role of clinicians in palliative care. Additionally, unique categories were identified to reflect each of these themes. Conclusion: Outcomes have been highlighted as unique and significant palliative care outcomes for adult patients in ICU critical care settings, potentially becoming candidate quality indicators. The candidate outcome indicators for palliative care in the ICU in the future will contribute to more measurable and standardized outcome assessments.
