Abstract

  abstract   backgorund : Breast feeding or ASI in Indonesia a magical and uncomparable liquid. This main nutrition is needed by newly born baby. The problem accurs when a mother decides to stop breast feeding to the newly born baby due to some reasons. The first reason is a myth that breast feeding is not sufficient in fulfilling baby’s needed. The second reason is career. Eventhought breast feeding is very beneficial, mother’s outside who work prefer to give up in breast feeding. Method : The design of study was correlational analytic.The populations were children 6 to 24 months that suffer diarrhea in Pediatric ward of Kediri Baptist Hospital. The sample were 38 respondents.These were taken using total sampling. The independent variable was breast feeding. The dependent variabel was diarrhea episode. The data were collected using checklist. The data were  analyzed using pearson with level of significance 0.05. Conclusion : The statistics test result showed correlation between diarrhea episode and breast feeding on child of age 6 to 24 months in Pediatric ward of Kediri Baptist Hospital (p = 0.000). It could be concluded that breast feeding has correlation with diarrhea episode on child of age 6 to 24 months in Pediatric ward of Kediri Baptist

Abstract

Smoking behavior is behavior that harm to health, but many people still do it, even more people start smoking when he was a teenager. Although everyone knows about the dangers caused by smoking, but this has never ended and every moment can be found many people who were smoking and even more smoking behavior has been familiar among teenage boys. The use of substances becomes several factors for young person, so that they become smokers, such as psychological factors, biological factors and environmental factors. The design used in this research was analytic description. The population was male students who living in dormitories of Stikes RS Baptis Kediri who met the inclusion criteria. The samples were 33 respondents using total sampling. The independent variables were psychological factors, biological factors, environmental factors and the dependent variable was smoking behavior. The data were collected by questionnaire, and then analyzed using multiple linear regression statistical test with significance level α ≤ 0.05. The results of this researchshowed that less than 50% of respondents who had less risk of psychological factor and light smoking behavior was 11 respondents (33.3%). The result of statistical test with multiple linear regressions was p = 0.007,howas accepted and ha was rejected, which meant there was the influence of psychological factors on smoking behavior to male students in dormitory of Stikes RS Baptis Kediri. The conclusion of this research showed there was positive verification  factors that influence smoking behavior to male students in dormitory of Stikes RS Baptis Kediri namely psychological factor.

Abstract

Background    : The increasing of Overweight problem is proved that a lot of advertisement about decreasing weight product. People with Overweight that know how to control the body weight is important, they use various method to decrease weight of body until becoming normal weight, and keep maintaining that condition. The objective of this research is to identify the knowledge level about decreasing weight method to student with Overweight in Kediri Baptist Hospital Health Science College Method : This research was descriptive , Population was all students with Overweight in Kediri Baptist Hospital Health Science College. The samples were 30 respondents that meet inclusion criterion using total sampling. The variable was single variable namely knowledge about decreasing weight method to student with Overweight in Kediri Baptist Hospital Health Science College. The result of research from 30 respondents showed that student who had good level knowledge was 2 respondents (7%), enough level knowledge was 22 respondents (73%), and less level knowledge was 6 respondents (20%).    Conclusion : Conclusion of this research indicated that knowledge level about decreasing weight body method to student with Overweight in Kediri Baptist Hospital Health Science College

Abstract

Background : Along with the continued increase in the Covid-19 outbreak, health protocols must still be carried out considering that many activities can pose a risk to close family. In addition, the need to consume a balanced diet strongly supports the body's immunity in preventing the risk of contracting Covid-19. Therefore, education about health protocol behavior, healthy lifestyle, frequent hand washing and not forgetting to consume balanced nutrition needs to be continuously improved. Method : This service activity aims to increase knowledge about balanced nutrition to prevent covid-19 in STIKES RS students. Kediri Baptist. This service activity is carried out by providing online questionnaires and booklet educational media to students and then evaluating knowledge again to obtain nutritional knowledge for the prevention of COVID-19 properly. Results : The results of the service activities showed that there was an increase in knowledge before as many as 18 students (94.7%) had sufficient knowledge, and after education 18 students (94.7%) were good, with a p value analysis of 0.000. Conclusion : Balanced nutrition education provides increased knowledge to students of STIKES RS. Baptist Kediri

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the teaching skills of kindergarten teachers at Kindergarten of An Nuur, Mojoroto District, Kediri City in terms of learning methods, namely the play pictures method, the story method, and the demonstration method. While the type of counseling that was carried out was an effective way of learning for kindergarten students. The results of this community service activity was that the understanding and ability of kindergarten teachers regarding effective learning methods for kindergarten students can be improved by conducting counseling; teacher's understanding and ability can increase success in learning the subject matter. In addition, understanding parents of kindergarten students about how their children learn and understanding. By understanding the parents of kindergarten students, they have improved how their children learn, understand every subject explained by kindergarten teachers, and not forcing their children to complete homework properly.

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of mind mapping and pre-questioning on the students’ reading comprehension and on the students’ reading comprehension levels: literal comprehension, inferential comprehension, evaluation, and appreciation. This study was a quasi-experimental design, which involved 30 Diploma Nursing Student Stikes RS Baptis Kediri. Mind mapping was used for the experimental group and pre- questioning was for the control group. The instrument was 25 item reading comprehension test incorporating the four reading comprehension levels based on Barrett taxonomy. Independent Sample t-test and Manova test were used to analyze the data, which results revealed that there was no significant difference between the students who received mind mapping and those who received pre-questioning in their overall reading comprehension and in their literal comprehension, evaluation, and appreciation level. However, there was a significant difference between the students who received mind mapping and those who received pre-questioning in their inferential comprehension

Abstract

This study used Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model and Respect, Empathy, Audible, Clarity, and Humble (REACH) as a process for improving student learning outcomes in Study Program of Management of Health Information 1st grade. The objective was to improve student learning outcomes and found a model learning that suited students. Qualitative approach of initial observations with teacher interview, student learning outcomes at pre-cycle, exams at the end of the cycle, documentation, observation sheets, and field notes all contributed to the data collected for this classroom action research project. Data was reduced, presented, examined, and made conclusions. The results of this study analysis showed that in CTL process using REACH communication patterns showed positive results and were considered effective. The findings of this study indicated that the implementation of teaching and learning activities was in accordance with the learning model and could improve student learning outcomes in the cycle.

Abstract

Implementation of increasing level of eye health using health education using color blind screening method in the Bulakdawung Study Group Kediri showed that increasing in the knowledge of parents and children regarding eye health through health education using color blind screening method with 100% results of not experiencing color blindness. Parents need to maintain eye health by providing nutrition/diet to children with a source of vitamin A, need to prevent eye trauma when children play, and to give health education to prevent eye trauma in children. In play groups, it is necessary to provide supplementary food rich sources of Vitamin A periodically every 2-3 months and eye health education to children in study groups.

Abstract

Early childhood is an age that is vulnerable to crime and sexual violence. Educational steps through sex education programs, children introduce to from an early age. Therefore, parents required to have sensitivity, skills, and understanding to be able to provide certain portions of information, which does not make children confused and curious because parents are the party most responsible for children in educational matters, including sex education. Accompanying children by parents, teachers, or people closest to them is especially important. The method used is to provide direct education by presenting material and animated videos. Measuring children's understanding uses a questionnaire with pictures, numbers, and letters. The results obtained showed that education was proven to be able to improve children's experience, with pre-test scores on children's understanding out of 30 children showing that 15 children (52%) were good, 11 children (36.7%) were sufficient, and 4 children (13.3%) were poor. , while the post-test scores of 30 children showed good understanding for 26 children (85%) and enough for 4 children (15%).

Abstract

Violence and sexual crimes that occur against children are problems that are still a global challenge and threat, including Indonesia. Because the resulting impact can damage the child's future both from physical, mental, social, psychological aspects, as well as the child's mindset. Sexual violence against children is one of the factors that has a negative influence on children's growth and development. This research studied the influence of education about sex and its impact on knowledge of primary prevention of sexual violence in children at SDN Bangsal 4, Kediri City. The research design used a comparative analytical design with a pre-post-test approach (One Group Pre-Test Post-Test Design), the sample size was 26 respondents were taken using total sampling technique. The independent variable in this research is education about sex and its impacts. Meanwhile, the dependent variable is knowledge of primary prevention of sexual violence in children. Data collection using a questionnaire. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon statistical test with a significance level of p<0.05. The results of the research showed that the level of knowledge after being given the intervention, the majority of respondents had good knowledge: 21 children (81%), and only a small portion had poor knowledge: 1 child (4%), and there was an influence of education about sex and its impact on primary prevention of sexual violence in children (Wilcoxon p value 0.000 < 0.05, then Ho is rejected). It was concluded that providing education about sex and its impact has a great influence on children's knowledge. Thus, it is hoped that through continuous education we can detect and minimize the number of incidents of sexual violence.
