Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of supervisor's academic supervision on school development and the success of supervisor's academic supervision, starting from the planning of supervision to the decision on the results of supervision at SDN 7 Muara Telang. This study uses a qualitative explanatory approach. Data collection was carried out through observation and investigation. The results showed that the principal's plan for supervision began with developing a supervision program and then maintaining contact with all teachers regarding awareness, understanding, and accountability. Furthermore, academic coaching for school principals using group and individual skills. Most school principals carry out group supervision only by training teachers at the start of the new school year. Principals generally do not supervise personal visits, notes, or individual meetings. The SDN 7 Muara Telang Principal Follow-up Program is generally oriented and implemented during teacher meetings with little interest in teachers. Principal Education Guidelines for SDN 7 Muara Telang cannot improve teacher professionalism because the coaching of school principals is unplanned, routine, and consistent.

Abstract

The synthesis of zeolite from refractory brick waste using hydrothermal technique had been conducted. Two different reactans, NaOH and Mg(OH)2, were separately employed to react with SiO2 and Al2O3 from brick sample to produce metal silicate and metal aluminate which were then reacted to obtain zeolite. XRF results show that the synthesized products using both reactants have Si/Al ratios between 1-1.5 considered as low type of zeolites regardless some remaining impurities. XRD data reveal a typical pattern of zeolite with 2 Ɵ angles of 15.91; 19.52; 25.47; 32.20; 35.54 and 41.54. The IR vibration characteristic of Si-O and Al-O bonds appears in 454 cm-1 while the symmetric and asymmetric stretching vibrations of these two bonds absorb around 679.66 – 778.02 cm-1 and 2033.96-1092.42 cm-1, respectively. The O-H group from Si-OH associated with the formation of zeolite gives a characteristic feature at 3618 cm-1. SEM analysis also shows similar morphological features with natrolite zeolite. The use of NaOH as reactant gives more zeolite product compared to Mg(OH)2 reactant.

Abstract

The increasing number of Indonesian migrant children in Malaysia has created new challenges in religious education, especially in Qur'an reading skills which are influenced by the linguistic interference of the Malay language. In the PKBM PNF KBRI in Kuala Lumpur, vocal errors such as kasrah shifting to e and dhammah changing to o, as well as inaccuracies in makhraj became recurring problems. This service aims to improve the vocal accuracy and makhraj of migrant children through the consistent application of the Faṣoḥatī method in an unstable learning environment due to volunteer rotation. Using a service learning approach, the service was carried out for three weeks through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, field notes, and daily reflection which were analyzed through reduction, theme categorization, and source triangulation. The results showed a gradual improvement in vocal stability, makhraj accuracy, and reading rhythm. Children begin to distinguish the i and u sounds more precisely, improve the articulation of the letters of the throat, and show the courage to read in front of the class. Social impact is also seen through increased classroom collaboration and student self-awareness in correcting mistakes. The uniqueness of this program lies in the application of Faṣoḥatī in the context of the migrant community, which successfully functions as a technical method as well as a reflective social space that fosters phonetic courage and independence. This service recommends extending the duration, consistency of methods between volunteers, the preparation of standard modules, and family involvement to maintain the sustainability of results.

Abstract

This reading literacy assistance program is carried out at the PKBM PNF KRI Embassy in Kuala Lumpur with the aim of improving the basic literacy skills of Indonesian migrant children through the application of the puzzle gamification method. This activity is motivated by low reading skills, vocabulary comprehension, and children's learning motivation which is limited by the lack of access to formal education. The mentoring was carried out for three weeks by applying an educational game-based service learning approach. The learning process is focused on five aspects, namely letter and sound recognition, syllable preparation, word reading, reading and intonation fluency, and learning attitude and motivation. The results of the activity showed a significant improvement in reading ability at the end of the program. In addition to cognitive improvement, participants also showed development in motivation, confidence, and teamwork skills. Thus, the puzzle gamification method has proven to be effective in improving the reading literacy of migrant children and can be used as an alternative learning strategy in non-formal education.
