Abstrak Perkembangan teknologi melahirkan adanya jenis karya cipta baru dalam lingkup Hak Kekayaan Intelektual yang wajib dilindungi, salah satunya terkait Hak Cipta atas karakter permainan video. Undang-Undang Nomor 28 Tahun 2014 tentang Hak Cipta telah mengakomodir pelindungan Hak Cipta atas permainan video. WIPO report “The Legal Status of Video Games” memasukkan karakter permainan video ke dalam cakupan Hak Cipta yang dilindungi terkait permainan video. Indonesia yang merupakan anggota WTO dan WIPO memiliki kewajiban untuk melaksanakan setiap prinsip yang ada di dalam perjanjian tersebut, salah satunya adalah Nation Treatment. Dengan adanya prinsip tersebut, Indonesia memiliki kewajiban untuk melindungi Hak Cipta yang diciptakan oleh warga negara lain. Innersloth perusahaan permainan video asal Amerika Serikat selaku pemegang Hak Cipta atas Karakter Among Us memiliki hak eksklusif berupa hak moral dan hak ekonomi yang wajib dilindungi oleh Indonesia melalui instrumen hukum yang ada. Abstract Technological developments have given birth to new types of copyrighted works within the scope of Intellectual Property Rights that must be protected, one of which is related to Copyright for video game characters. Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright has accommodated Copyright protection for video games. WIPO in “The Legal Status of Video Games” reported that video game characters are within the scope of Copyright protected video games. As a member of the WTO and WIPO, Indonesia has an obligation to implement every principle contained in the agreement, one of which is Nation Treatment. With this principle, Indonesia has an obligation to protect copyrights created by citizens of other countries. Innersloth, a video game company from the United States, as the holder of the Copyright for Among Us Characters, has exclusive rights in the form of moral rights and economic rights that must be protected by Indonesia through existing legal instruments.
