Abstract

As a product of the media, talk shows can be culture 'text' that interacts with viewers in the production and exchange of meaning. Almost all programs talk shows on television to attract people to watch it. Indulgence of society in the program caused by several factors, such as the show that is entertaining, any informative, educative, and inspiring messages contained in the talk show. Moreover, were guided by a reliable host emceeing, or by bringing in a competent and influential resource for the community. In this study, the authors chose two talk shows to being the object of research. Both of these talk shows that "Tonight Show" and "Ini Talkshow 'which aired on NET TV. This study aims to describe how the representation of gender inequality in the program "Tonight Show" and "Ini Talkshow" on NET TV. This study used a qualitative approach, because the data were obtained and extracted from observations, the study of literature and documentation. The results of this study indicate In the course of the Tonight Show, gender inequality occurs between hosts with Co-Host. This indicates that the NET TV has represented the existence of gender differences and subordination between men and women. While the program's talk show, gender inequality occurs between Host/Co-Host with supporting other events. This indicates that the NET TV has represented the difference between gender and workload of men and women. Keywords: representation, gender inequality, talk show

Abstract

The library is a building and room that is specifically provided for storing and collecting notes, books and documents as well as a space that is used for reading and reading activities for the community. Until now, libraries in Indonesia are increasingly advanced and even have a very large number. One of them is the regional library owned by the West Sumbawa Regency Government, West Nusa Tenggara. The lack of public interest in visiting and reading books is caused by several obstacles. In order to attract public interest in reading at the KSB Library, the library carries out several social marketing communication activities. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods interview, observation, and documentation methods. The results obtained from this study are social marketing communication strategies that are implemented in the KSB Library, including utilizing social media, using print and electronic mass media, carrying out innovative activities, and mobile library services. In the implementation of social marketing communications, there are obstacles faced, namely the availability of human resources in the field of library science, the limitation of the number of target visitors due to the Covid 19 pandemic and the limited range of mobility. Keywords—Strategy; Social Marketing Communication; Library Perpustakaan merupakan sebuah bangunan dan ruangan yang khusus disediakan untuk menyimpan dan mengumpulkan catatan, buku dan dokumen serta sebagai sebuah ruang yang difungsikan untuk kegiatan membaca baca masyarakat. Hingga saat ini perpustakaan yang ada di Indonesia semakin maju dan bertambah bahkan memiliki jumlah yang sangat banyak. Salah satunya adalah perpustakaan daerah milik Pemerintah Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat Nusa Tenggara Barat. Kurangnya minat masyarakat untuk berkunjung dan membaca buku disebabkan beberapa kendala. Agar dapat menarik minat membaca masyarakat di Perpusda KSB, pustakawan perpustakaan melakukan beberapa kegiatan komunikasi pemasaran sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data wawancara, observasi, dan metode dokumentasi. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah strategi komunikasi pemasaran sosial yang dijalankan di Perpusda KSB diantaranya memanfaatkan media sosial, penggunaan media massa cetak dan elektronik, melaksanakan kegiatan inovatif dan pelayanan perpustakaan keliling. Dalam pelaksanaan komunikasi pemasaran sosial terdapat hambatan-hambatan yang dihadapi yakni ketersediaan sumber daya manusia di bidang ilmu perpustakaan masih minim, pembatasan jumlah sasaran pengunjung karena pandemi Covid 19 dan keterbatasan jangkauan mobilitas. Abstract

Song lyrics are an example of how music is a cultural tool that is used in society to shape social reality. Because there was no power relations from market demand during the industrialization of independent music, it became a counterculture. Indie music is a new lifestyle trend, especially for coffee lovers, because it frequently features songs with poetic lyrics about savoring the sunset as well as resistance. Fans of independent music cannot separate the three elements of dusk, coffee, and indie music. This study aims to examine how coffee-speech is portrayed in two songs with twilight themes. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the lyrics of the song 'Tak Perlu Ada Senja' sung by Suara Kayu ft. Fiersa Besari and the song 'Kopi, Senja, dan Logika' sung by the band Nosstress represent kopi-senja as a new term for indie music fans in Indonesia ?”. This research is a qualitative research through a textual/literary approach using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic analysis method. The author divides the song's text into two meanings, the signifier and the signified, using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic analysis. In conclusion, coffee and dusk go hand in hand with indie music. It turns out that coffee is a popular beverage among people who do more than just hang out in coffee shops. However, coffee has a positive energy that might inspire.

Abstract

Public speaking atau berbicara di depan orang banyak bertujuan untuk memberi informasi, memengaruhi (mempersuasi), dan/atau menghibur. Salah satu lembaga pendidikan yang menggunakan kemampuan berbicara di depan umum dalam setiap aktivitasnya adalah Yayasan Assalam Cendekia. Diketahui bahwa pihak sekolah memiliki kebutuhan terhadap pengembangan dan peningkatan cara berkomunikasi yang baik antara guru dan terapis kepada peserta didiknya, serta mengharapkan adanya pelatihan tentang cara penyampaian pesan yang lebih efektif di lingkungan sekolah inklusi ini. Oleh sebab itu, Universitas Pakuan bermitra dengan Yayasan Assalam Cendekia dalam penyelenggaraan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat tentang pengembangan soft skill public speaking bagi guru dan terapis di sekolah tersebut. Materi yang diberikan melalui pelatihan ini, antara lain pengetahuan tentang konsep dasar retorika, pidato, presentasi, dan public speaking; teknik vokal (intonasi dan artikulasi), gestur, dan penampilan; menghadapi rasa cemas saat berbicara di depan umum; dan story telling. Kegiatan abdimas ini berjalan baik dan lancar. Peserta juga antusias dan serius memperhatikan materi yang disampaikan, mengajukan pertanyaan pada sesi tanya-jawab, dan mempraktikannya sesuai arahan pengabdi.

Abstract

Salah satu wilayah di Indonesia yang masyarakatnya terdiri dari beragam suku dan budaya dari beberapa daerah di nusantara adalah Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat. Meskipun wilayah ini didominasi oleh masyarakat suku Samawa sebagai penduduk aslinya, namun ada juga suku Jawa, Sunda, Betawi, Bugis, Melayu, dan Sasak sebagai masyarakat pendatang yang menetap di sana. Komunikasi menjadi faktor penting dalam menciptakan hubungan yang baik antarindividu dari latar belakang budaya yang berbeda. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini merupakan kajian dalam ranah komunikasi antarbudaya. Secara garis besar, tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan bagaimana komunikasi antarbudaya dan interaksi simbolik yang terjadi antara warga pendatang dengan pribumi di Kecamatan Brang Rea Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat, serta menggambarkan terjadinya asimilasi dan akulturasi budaya antara warga pendatang dengan masyarakat pribumi di Kecamatan Brang Rea Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Sedangkan jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan masyarakat Sumbawa Barat khususnya di Kecamatan Brang Rea dinilai sebagai masyarakat yang terbuka dan memiliki kepedulian sosial yang tinggi terhadap sesama. Interaksi sosial yang berlangsung di Kecamatan Brang Rea antara warga pendatang dan pribumi merupakan hubungan saling memengaruhi satu dengan yang lainnya, yang dapat menimbulkan suatu kehidupan bermasyarakat yang harmonis dalam kehidupan sosial, agama, dan lainnya yang dapat diwujudkan dalam bentuk solidaritas, toleransi serta menghormati dan menghargai satu sama lain.

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini penulis memilih video podcast Close the Door – Login. Kanal tersebut menguatkan konsep penerimaan beragama yang merupakan salah satu hal penting yang harus dimiliki seorang pendakwah agar dapat menyampaikan risalah keagamaan dengan hikmah tentang fiqh dan keimanan yang dapat diterima, tanpa kekerasan dan sesuai dengan budaya di tempat dimana generasi muda masa kini. Ini menjadi suatu kajian yang hal unik untuk diteliti, di tengah meningkatknya rasa keingintahuan seseorang, yakni kaum muda khsusunya dalam belajar dan mengamalkan ilmu dan pengetahuan agama. Berdasarkan rumusan masalah tersebut, pertanyaan penelitian ini adalah: bagaimana Habib Ja'far direpresentasikan dalam podcast Close the Door edisi Login? Sementara itu, tujuan penulisan artikel ilmiah ini adalah untuk menganalisis representasi diri Habib Ja’far di podcast tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Dengan menggunakan metode tersebut, terdapat tiga makna pada pesan visual dalam podcast milik Deddy Corbuzier, yaitu denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos.

Abstract

New media is a communication channel that brings about change by disseminating information through texts published by authors. Because text is a form of ideological practice, language, style, word choice, and grammatical structure, it is understood as a decision that has a certain ideological meaning in order to gain public support. This research aims to analyze Rocky Gerung's freedom of speech on the Rocky Gerung Official YouTube channel and how discourse practices take place on YouTube as a virtual space. This research was carried out to examine virtual media. Using a critical paradigm, this research is descriptive-qualitative using critical discourse analysis methods. Using Norman Fairclough's thinking, at the macro-level analysis, there are linguistic elements used that are philosophical, straightforward, and rich in meaning using metaphors. At the micro level, there is the use of special terminology in the world of politics, government, and philosophy. As well as using intertextual patterns, there is consistency between one sentence and another. At the meso level of analysis, researchers create relationships between characters or participants involved in the text in this research.

Abstract

Bullying that occurs at the high school level is very urgent to get an immediate solution. This is considering that high school students are potential successors to development. Indonesia will enter the golden period, in 2045. Adolescents who are free from bullying will be ready to participate in development. Internet media is one of the triggers for bullying. Therefore, it is very important to know the use of adolescent internet media in relation to bullying.This study analyzes the relationship between adolescent social media use and bullying behavior among high school students in Bogor City. Data was collected from 100 respondents with an age range of 17-19 years, consisting of 57% women and 43% men. The analysis showed a significant relationship between adolescent characteristics and communication with peers (β = 3.225), as well as a relationship between adolescent characteristics and social media use (β = 1.835). In addition, a relationship was also found between adolescent characteristics and bullying behavior (β = 0.780). These results underscore the importance of paying attention to factors such as adolescent characteristics and interaction with social media in understanding bullying behavior among adolescents. These findings highlight the need for a holistic approach to the prevention and management of bullying behaviors that includes parental supervision as well as a better understanding of adolescents' social media use. Social media has a significant role in shaping adolescents' attitudes regarding bullying, family communication contributes to the occurrence of bullying behavior in adolescents.

Abstract

The so-called religious songs are increasingly recognized and positively responded by many, both children and adult. They then become an alternative trend in prose–lytizing, in addition to lecturing. Wali is a musical group in Indonesia that has a commitment to spread Islamic religious symbols through the lyrics of its songs. By using descriptive analysis, this article examines the song entitled Cari Berkah by the group as a strategy of proselytizing communication. The study results show that the song has delivered a positive message in accordance with Islamic law, as the group leads the listeners to become aware of the importance of helping each other.Keywords: song lyric, proselytizing strategy, wali band, des–criptive analysis.------------------------------------------------------------------------dan digemari oleh banyak kalangan, mulai dari anak-anak hingga orang tua. Kini berdakwah melalui lagu merupakan tren alternatif, selain berceramah. Wali adalah sebuah grup musik dalam negeri yang memiliki komitmen untuk mela–kukan syiar agama melalui lirik lagu-lagunya. Melalui analisis deskriptif, artikel ini membahas lagu Cari Berkah karya Band Wali sebagai strategi komunikasi dakwah. Hasil studi menyatakan bahwa lagu Cari Berkah yang dibuat oleh Wali mewakili pesan yang positif sesuai dengan syariat Islam, karena Band Wali ingin mengajak pendengarnya untuk lebih menyadari akan arti pentingnya hidup saling tolong menolong antar sesama.Kata Kunci: syair lagu, strategi dakwah, band wali, analisis deskriptif.
