Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aimed to produce Biotechnology learning tools by utilizing the local potential of cempedak peel to improve the science process skills of class XII students and determine its validity and effectiveness. This is development research that refers to Borg Gall"™s model modified by Sugiono. The trial subjects were students of class XII at Islamic Senior High Boarding School (Madrasah Aliyah) Sabilarrasyad Samarinda. Each of the product, control and field trial subjects consists of 20 students in each class. The research results were in the form of learning tools which include: a syllabus, lesson plan (RPP), student worksheet (LKPD), and assessment instruments. The results of this research showed that the learning tools that have been developed obtained validity with an average percentage of expert assessment of about 96.2% which fulfilled the very valid criteria, and has been proven to be effectively used in learning activities. Based on the T-test results, it can be seen that school learning tools are not similar (there is a significant difference) with the class taught by the researcher using the learning tools that have been developed. Further, it can also be seen from the improvement of students' learning by about 96% and in students' science process skills by 44%.

Abstract

Polyol compounds obtained by epoxidation dan hydroxylation, the results obtained with the reaction yield of 69.23%. Potassium soap mixture in the form of a polyol obtained by saponification polyol with Potassium Hydroxide with a yield of 70.36%. Polyol and potassium soap in the form of a polyol mixture was analyzed by FT-IR spectrophotometer.Respectively iodine from moringa seed oil and polyol are 107.3769 mg I / gram of oil and 4.6755 mg I / gram of oil. HLB of fatty acid potassium soap of moringa seed oil and potassium soap in the form of a mixture of polyol is determined by titration method and obtained HLB of fatty acid potassium soap of moringa seed oil amounted to 5,2178 while the potassium soap in the form of a polyol mixture of 8,4767. Free alkalinity of soap potassium mixture in the form of a polyol is 0.551%. Based on the stability and strength of the foam test, the concentration of potassium soap mixture in the form polyols having the most excellent foam stability is 1% and which has the best strength is 1%.Keywords: moringa seed oil, epoxidation, polyol, saponification

Abstract

Determination degree of esterification with the baseline on the synthesis method aldimine chitosan acetate by esterification of aldimine chitosan with acetic anhydride has done. In this research, chitosan modified by chemical being aldimine chitosan acetate. Synthesis aldimine chitosan acetate produced by the esterification reaction between aldimine chitosan with acetic anhydride. The result of FT-IR analysis of aldimine chitosan acetate showed in wavenumbers 3448.72 cm-1, which indicated stretching vibration hydroxyl group -OH. Vibration absorption wave numbers 1735.93 cm-1 indicated carbonyl group C = O, ester and backed group C-O-C with wavenumbers 1033.85 cm-1. vibration absorption in wavenumbers 1651.07 cm-1 indicated the presence of C = N. Degree of esterification or degree of acetylation (DA) in aldimine chitosan acetate assign value 82.85%.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the feasibility, practicality and impact of the implementation of interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline in the Conventional Biotechnology sub-material on the science process skills (SPS) of grade IX junior high school students. The research model used is the development of ADDIE with a quasi-experimental approach, pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of the study consisted of 71 students divided into two classes; experimental class and control class. The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant increase in science process skills (SPS) using Articulate storyline-based media compared to the control class. The developed Articulate storyline-based media was feasible and practical to apply with an average score of 88.79 based on the assessment of material experts and media experts. The students' response to the media reached an average of 90.49 with a very good category. In the experimental class, it showed an increase in science process skills (SPS) with an N-gain value of 0.61 which was categorized as a moderate increase, with an average pretest value of 42.50 increasing to 77.08 in the posttest. These findings indicate that interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline is effective in improving students' science process skills (SPS) and is recommended for application to other science materials.
