Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the profile of problem-solving instruments which applied in Tsanawiyah Islamic School on vibration, waves, and sound learning materials based on the expert validation assessment and student’s responses. This study used a pre-experimental design method, namely a one-shot case study and it was implemented in Tsanawiyah Islamic School. The sampling technique used purposive sampling using one class. Data collections used problem-solving skills instrument. The expert validation results showed that all of the instrument tests were very valid and it was declared fit for use. Student’s responses from 15 questions were valid because the instrument tests have difficulty level with medium category, although there was one number of the question has difficult category. The distinguishing power showed a good and a very good category although two numbers of questions were less categories. The problem-solving skills profile in Tsanawiyah Islamic School showed a good category in the expert validation noralthough student’s responses although there was a shortage. The limitation of the profile problem solving skills was hindsight from expert validation and students responses. The future research must be better and it can use appropriate learning model for this research like Model SEA-MEA (Self Efficacy Academic-Means Ends Analysis).

Abstract

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to discover that guided inquiry is related to science learning at the high school and junior high school levels, which can increase students' knowledge in learning. The researchers also found that guided inquiry could only improve students' literacy skills to a moderate level, which indicated that guided inquiry was needed to improve these abilities. Method: The research method used is the literature review method by collecting sources that can be used as references or related references. Results: Based on the results of the literature review that has been carried out, it was found that the use of the guided inquiry learning model is proven to be an alternative to active science learning in terms of students' thinking and cognitive skills. Learning outcomes when applying the guided inquiry learning model follow the nature of science learning, including scientific attitudes, processes, products, and applications. Novelty: Research that previous researchers have carried out needs coordination with related parties, namely schools, which will also affect the research results. In addition, this research uses a lot of guided inquiry models rather than free inquiry models, which shows a less significant difference in the results to be achieved.

Abstract

Objective: The primary objective of this study is to investigate the development of physics learning tools by comparing the forms of digital and conventional media, along with their respective impacts. Method: The employed methodology involves a comprehensive literature review, defined as an inquiry into scholarly articles, books, and other sources related to the issue, research field, or specific theory. Literature review is characterized by providing a general overview, summarization, and evaluation of scholarly works. The research method encompasses multiple steps, including: (1) Identifying topics related to Assessment as Learning and metacognitive skills. (2) Searching and selecting relevant articles through Scopus and Google Scholar. (3) Analyzing and synthesizing literature. (4) Organizing the text. Results: The findings reveal the existence of 40 journals elucidating on physics learning media, encompassing both digital and conventional forms. Commonly utilized digital learning media include Adobe Flash, websites, e-modules, and interactive tools. Digital learning media is evaluated to enhance student learning outcomes and understanding. It enables students to perceive, hear, and interact with the material dynamically, thereby triggering a deeper understanding. The effectiveness of learning media has been substantiated to improve students’ comprehension of physics and also heighten their interest in the subject matter. Novelty: This research offers insights into designing interactive and modern learning media to enhance students’ understanding and learning outcomes in physics, contributing to the achievement of educational objectives.
