Abstract

Sampleong as one of the traditional Minangkabau music that grows and develops in the Tolang Mau area, kec. Please, kab. 50 Kota has a unique and interesting musical idiom to be developed as a musical idea in the creation of new musical compositions. Sampleong is a traditional Minangkabau music performance that is performed in a duet between a singer and a sample of wind music player. At the beginning of its growth, it had a mystical feel, but along with the development of religion and culture, it turned into a function of entertainment music. This mystical atmosphere is reflected in the melodic aesthetics of the songs contained in the sampleong music. Sampleong music has several songs, one of which is Batu Putiah. In this paper, the melody of the sampleong Batu Putiah is taken as the basis for the creation of a thematic new musical composition that is worked on in an orchestral format. This material was worked out through examination of, exploration, and experimentation of musical elements, so that it became a new musical that represents the journey of Sampelong without losing the distinctiveness of Sampleong itself.Keywords: Sampelong, Batu Putiah, CompositionABSTRAKSampelong sebagai salah satu musik tradisional minangkabau yang tumbuh dan berkembang di daerah Tolang Mau, kec. Mungka, kab. 50 Kota memiliki idiom musikal yang unik dan menarik untuk dikembangkan sebagai ide musikal dalam penciptaan komposisi musik baru. Sampelong merupakan pertunjukan musik tradisional minangkabau yang ditampilkan secara duet antara penyanyi dan pemain musik tiup sampelong. Pada awal pertumbuhannya sampelong memiliki nuansa mistik, namun seiring dengan perkembangan agama dan kebudayaan, sampelong berubah fungsi menjadi musik hiburan. Suasana mistik ini tergambar dalam estetika melodi yang dimiliki oleh lagu-lagu yang terdapat pada musik sampelong. Musik sampelong memiliki beberapa lagu, salah satunya adalah Batu Putiah. Pada tulisan ini, melodi lagu sampelong Batu Putiah diambil sebagai dasar terciptanya sebuah tematik komposisi musik baru yang digarap ke dalam format orkestra. Komposisi ini digarap melalui identifikasi, eksplorasi, dan eksperimentasi terhadap unsur-unsur musikal, sehingga menjadi musikal baru yang mewakili perjalanan Sampelong tanpa menghilangkan ciri khas dari Sampelong itu sendiri.Kata Kunci: Sampelong, Batu Putiah, Komposisi

Abstract

ABSTRAKMusik militer adalah salah satu aspek penting dalam kegiatan militer di Indonesia, khususnya di Kodiklat TNI AD Babakan Ciamis, Bandung. Musik militer terdiri dari beberapa jenis dan digunakan dalam berbagai kegiatan kemiliteran, baik kegiatan sehari-hari, maupun kegiatan-kegiatan khsusus lainnya yang diselenggarakan angkatan militer. Pada penelitian ini dikasifikasikan fungsi dan tujuan musik dalam kegiatan militer, khususnya di Kodiklat TNI AD Babakan Ciamis, Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan sumber data dari wawancara dan studi pustaka di angakatan militer Kodiklat Babakan Ciamis, Bandung. Data yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis musik militer, tujuan, dan fungsi musik dalam kegiatan militer di Kodiklat TNI AD Babakan Ciamis, Bandung.Kata Kunci: Musik Militer; jenis musik; Fungsi ABSTRACTMilitary music is an important aspect of military activities in Indonesia, especially at the Babakan Ciamis Army Kodiklat, Bandung. Abstract

The song 'Nang Gumalunsang Angka Laut' is one of the popular Batak Toba songs that is often performed at certain events such as church services, mourning ceremonies, and entertainment. The research location was in the village of Sisolu-solu, Sumbul District, North Sumatra. The song studied was performed in the SATB choral format and arranged by Mr. Edy Dh Siahaan, S.Th. This research aims to analyze the structure of the choral song titled 'Nang Gumalunsang Angka Laut'. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach, with the intention of revealing and describing the analysis of the structure of the choral song. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The result of this research is the revealing of the form of the song 'Nang Gumalunsang Angka Laut', which in this research consists of three parts form song , with a melodic line that has similarities (parallel), and has an irregular phrase (more than 4 bars).

Abstract

Pakasiah is one of the mystical phenomena found in the Koto Nan Gadang area, Payakumbuh City. Pakasiah is performed to subdue or conquer a spouse, done by a wife towards her husband. The event of Pakasiah is portrayed in a music composition  titled 'Jerat' which is developed using a Psychoanalytic approach, where aspects found in the perpetrators involved in the Pakasiah event are concluded, namely the desire and purpose behind performing Pakasiah. This desire is rooted in the human subconscious, like fears, desires, and so on that are embedded within oneself, referred to as shadow’s archetypes. These aspects are then analogized to musical elements that have relevance to works with extra-musical ideas. This music composition is developed through stages including exploration, material identification, and application with an Impressionist musical style approach. Overall, the work Jerat has the structure with the name Tuju, which embodies the archetypal aspect of the performer Pakasiah then developed into a musical composition in ensemble format.
