Abstract

This research aim to analyze the succeeding factors of mediation inside the Shuttle Diplomacy that is conducted by Indonesia for two days in bringing together ASEAN countries voices after a deadlock on the 45th AMM meeting in Cambodia. Researchers refers to Lawrence Susskind and Eileen Babbitt works to explain why a mediation effort could work effectively, namely with the awareness of not carrying out unilateral actions, drafting alternative agreements to avoid ongoing conflict, delegates in negotiations are people who have authority and are committed in implement agreed actions, external factors that force the parties to seek a conflict resolution, the mediator is someone who could be accepted by all parties. This is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis methods to find the answers what makes shuttle diplomacy that is conducted by Indonesia could be working effectively. This research found that the mediation could be effective because there is awareness of each ASEAN country not to carry out unilateral actions towards the conflict, Marty Natalegawa proposed the Six Point Principle on the South China Sea draft as an alternative to communique that has failed before and ensured this agreement is obeyed by all parties, Indonesia’s role as mediator and the existence of other international interests also forcing ASEAN countries to determine a common perspective towards South China Sea conflict.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran visual memainkan peranan penting dalam menciptakan proses belajar yang interaktif, konkret, dan bermakna, khususnya bagi peserta didik usia dini. Salah satu inovasi media visual yang menarik perhatian dunia pendidikan adalah pop-up book, yaitu buku cetak yang dirancang dengan elemen tiga dimensi dan mekanisme gerak yang mendukung keterlibatan multisensorik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas desain pop-up book dalam konteks pendidikan visual melalui pendekatan studi literatur terhadap artikel-artikel nasional dan internasional yang diterbitkan dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir (2014–2024). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan telaah pustaka sistematis, sedangkan teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah sintesis naratif dan tematik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa media pop-up book mampu meningkatkan perhatian, pemahaman konsep, retensi informasi, dan ekspresi afektif siswa. Efektivitas media ini sangat ditentukan oleh kualitas desain yang memperhatikan prinsip estetika, psikologi perkembangan, dan instruksional. Studi-studi yang dianalisis juga menyoroti kelebihan media ini dalam membangun keterlibatan belajar, namun mencatat adanya tantangan teknis seperti biaya produksi dan kompleksitas desain. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pop-up book merupakan media pembelajaran visual yang potensial, terutama bila dirancang secara kolaboratif dan disesuaikan dengan karakteristik peserta didik. Rekomendasi diberikan untuk integrasi media ini dalam kurikulum, pelatihan guru, serta eksplorasi lebih lanjut melalui pengembangan teknologi interaktif berbasis digital.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of political rhetoric used by the candidates for regent and vice regent in the second public debate of the 2024 Ponorogo regional elections. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with Aristotle's classical rhetorical analysis techniques, namely ethos, pathos, and logos. Data was obtained from the official transcript of the public debate downloaded from the YouTube channel of the Ponorogo Regency Election Commission. The results of the study indicate that each candidate pair employed different rhetorical strategies: the first pair tended to emphasize ethos and pathos, while the second pair was more dominant in logos and ethos. Political rhetoric is used not only to convey vision and mission but also to subtly attack opponents and build self-image. Thus, this study offers new insights into the role of rhetorical strategies in local political campaigns, which can serve as a reference for aspiring leaders and political consultants in designing more effective campaigns.
