Abstract

An understanding of temperature and heat concept is one of the learning objectives in the 2013 Curriculum and the complexity of these concepts requires learning tools that can help students in achieving this objective. In this article, we discussed the development of digital thermobalance and student worksheets (LKPD) as supporting tools for learning temperature and heat concepts. The evaluation results showed that digital thermobalance and LKPD developed in this study have proven to be valid, practical, and effective. Findings from this evaluation showed the potential of digital thermobalance and LKPD as a learning media for temperature and heat subject. ABSTRAKPemahaman tentang konsep materi dan suhu adalah salah satu tujuan pembelajaran dalam Kurikulum 2013 dan kompleksitas materi ini menuntut adanya perangkat pembelajaran yang dapat membantu peserta didik dalam mencapai tujuan tersebut. Dalam artikel ini, kami akan memaparkan pengembangan thermobalance digital dan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) sebagai penunjang pembelajaran suhu dan kalor. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa thermobalance digital dan LKPD yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini telah terbukti valid, praktis, dan efektif. Temuan hasil evaluasi tersebut menunjukkan potensi thermobalance digital dan LKPD sebagai media pembelajaran materi suhu dan kalor.

Abstract

Drought stress is a major abiotic factor that limits plant growth and productivity by disrupting photosynthesis, water uptake, and cellular metabolism. One strategy to enhance plant tolerance to drought is seed priming using ascorbic acid (AsA), which functions as an important antioxidant in plant defense systems. This study aims to systematically review the role of AsA as a priming compound in improving plant physiological responses under drought stress. A systematic literature review was conducted following the PRISMA framework. Relevant articles were collected from Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and MDPI databases using keywords related to drought stress, seed priming, and ascorbic acid. Selected studies were analyzed descriptively to identify patterns of plant responses. The results indicate that AsA priming enhances antioxidant enzyme activities, reduces reactive oxygen species accumulation, maintains membrane stability, and improves germination, photosynthesis, and early seedling growth across several crop species. In conclusion, AsA seed priming is an effective approach to improve plant tolerance to drought stress. Future studies are recommended to explore optimal concentrations and molecular mechanisms of AsA application in different crop species.

Abstract

Salinity is a major abiotic constraint that limits rice establishment, particularly during germination when seedlings are physiologically vulnerable. This study investigated the effect of auxin priming on germination performance and early seedling growth of IR64 rice exposed to 100 mM NaCl, and identified the most effective auxin concentration. The experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design with five treatments: non-primed seeds and auxin priming at concentrations of 0, 25, 50, and 100 ppm, each with three replications. Statistical analysis was performed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at the 5% significance level. Parameters observed included germination percentage and rate, root and plumule length, total seedling length, vigor index, fresh and dry weight, and lipid peroxidation. Auxin priming significantly enhanced germination rate, seedling growth, vigor index, and biomass accumulation, while reducing lipid peroxidation under saline conditions. Among the treatments, P3 exhibited the most consistent improvement under salinity stress, whereas P1 showed the highest overall growth under non-stress conditions. These findings indicate that appropriate auxin priming can improve the early physiological performance of rice seedlings under salt stress.
