Abstract

This research intends to examine and synthesize data regarding the problems encountered when attempting to promote on library social media and the competency of librarians. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) technique, which is being used for this descriptive research, has three stages: planning, implementation, and reporting. SLR is a thorough evaluation of studies that are pertinent to a topic that are then identified, evaluated, and synthesized methodically with the goal of eliminating bias in order to produce more trustworthy results. The examination of 23 publications that met the criteria revealed that ICT, communication, knowledge, attitude, information literacy, pedagogy, information analysis, management, and visual skills were the abilities most commonly identified to promote social media promotion. entrepreneurship, literacy, and digital literacy. Diverse information needs and behaviors, a lack of collaboration with other parties, the abundance of information sources, a failure to adapt to information search developments, a lack of staff, a lack of scientific publications that promote their work, a lack of format management skills and minimal collections, the emergence of online culture in the millennial generation, and the availability of a variety of social media platforms are all obstacles that librarians must overcome when promoting themselves on social media. The findings of this study can be used as a guide to examine trends in librarian abilities linked to social media promotion and as a basis for librarians to consider when deciding which competencies to develop for social media promotion.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai peran atau kontribusi Perpustakaan di sebuah Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Indonesia bagi Narapidana atau Warga binaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu Untuk mengetahui sejauh mana peran dan manfaat perpustakaan Lembaga Pemasyarakatan bagi penggunanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif dengan metode Systematic Literature Review merupakan istilah yang digunakan untuk merujuk pada metodologi penelitian atau riset tertentu dan pengembangan yang dilakukan untuk mengumpulkan serta mengevaluasi penelitian yang terkait pada fokus topik tertentu. Penelitian SLR dilakukan untuk berbagai tujuan, diantaranya untuk mengidentifikasi, mengkaji, mengevaluasi, dan menafsirkan semua penelitian yang tersedia dengan bidang topik fenomena yang menarik, dengan pertanyaan penelitian tertentu dan relevan. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Perpustakaan memiliki peran sebagai Literasi informasi, Rehabilitasi, Rekreasi, Pendidikan, Pembinaan, dan Modal sosial, serta Koleksi yang diberikan juga beragam yang sudah diseleksi yaitu berupa bacaan agama, hukum, keterampilan, Informasi terkini, dan karya fiksi.

Abstract

Introduction. This paper investigate information behavior of NCT Dream fans (The South Korean Boy Band) on Twitter. Previously, from research perspectives, fan behavior and their information behavior studies have not been discussed deeply. Fans have unique ways to use information by collaboratively creating, organizing, disseminating, and sharing information. Research Methods. The paper used a virtual ethnographic research method with a qualitative approach. Observations were conducted to explore the exchange of information and interaction between fans with text, images, video and audio among fellow fans. Data was collected by observations, researchers played a role as participants. Data Analysis. The paper followed the three stages of coding: open coding, axial coding, selective coding. Results and Discussion. Fans are able to create their own information, which later it is considered as community knowledge, although the source of information is not official. The fans demonstrate collaborative, creative, sharing, and performative activities that engage further with information. Conclusion. Fan information behavior involves information creation, information organization, information production, and production. Information behavior of fans on Twitter is informal, diverse, and evolving from the model of fan information behavior offered by Price. Furthermore, because fan behavior has shifted to textual productivity, this information behavior model is very helpful in identifying fans on social media. However, crowdfunding appear as one additional behavior inPrice's information behavior model.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi perilaku penyedia layanan referensi dan informasi degan menggunakan RUSA di perpustakaan Universitas Islam Malang. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan cara melakukan observasi dan wawancara kepada dua pustakawan di layanan referensi dan dua pemustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pustakawan di perpustakaan Universitas Islam Malang telah mengimplentasikan pedoman kinerja perilaku penyedia layanan referensi dan informasi oleh RUSA.The aim of this research is to evaluate the behavior of reference and information service providers using RUSA in the Universitas Islam Malang library. The research method in this study is a qualitative by conducting observations and interviews with two librarians in reference services and two users. The results of the research show that librarians at the Universitas Islam Malang library have implemented RUSA's behavioral performance guidelines for reference and information service providers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of social media instagram @pustaka.kementan as a means of disseminating information on library collections. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. This research was conducted by observing and analyzing the @pustaka.kementan instagram account based on the category of utilization of Instagram content. The results of the study show that the Ministry of Agriculture Library has made good use of social media, especially Instagram, through @pustaka.kementan. Of the 100 posts in 2023 until April, @pustaka.kementan is mostly used for information/knowledge sharing, then for library marketing or promotion, one of which is regarding library collections. While the category of dissemination of library information and requests for input is still rarely done.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of embedded Librarians as information professionals. Embedded librarian is someone who is proactive in providing library services in information retrieval and understands the information needs of its users. The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has also had a significant impact on education and research. However, the abundance of information sources is sometimes a problem for students or researchers who must choose and use appropriate and accurate sources of information. The Embedded Librarian concept refers to librarians who are actively involved in a particular group, build deep relationships with the group, and provide information services tailored to their needs. The method used is a systematic study with a qualitative approach, and selected articles sourced from Google Scholar and OnlineDatabase subscribed to the Library of the University of Indonesia http://remote-lib.ui.ac.id/). The analysis process consists of 6 (six) stages, namely 1) field mapping through scope review; 2) comprehensive search; 3) quality assessment; 4) data extraction; 5) synthesis; and 6) writing. The majority of the journal articles studied discussed the roles and activities of embedded librarians. This research provides a broader understanding of the development of information professionals and how the role of the Embedded Librarian evolves as information and technology evolves. This research also provides guidance on the skills and competencies required to become an effective Embedded Librarian. In practice, Embedded Librarian activities can be adapted to the environment and needs of the clients served, so as to provide relevant and effective information support
