Abstract

The transition from face-to-face learning to distance learning has decreased student learning outcomes. Departing from this phenomenon, this research is presented as an effort to overcome various obstacles experienced by teachers and students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The researcher offers a model that can be used in virtual learning activities. Beginning with finding out the extent of the influence of the problem-based learning (PBL) model on accounting learning outcomes in class X Accounting 1 students at SMK YPKK Limbung. Research data obtained from the results of the test, observation, and documentation. Then analyzed using t-test which consists of simple linear regression analysis and product moment correlation. The findings in this experimental study resulted in a simple linear regression equation model with a value of Y=33,012+4.283X and a correlation coefficient value of 0.580. After students received learning using the PBL model through distance learning and were given a post-test, their learning outcomes also increased. In other words, the implementation of the PBL model has a significant and positive effect on accounting learning outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Education in the industrial era 4.0 must be adapted to the characteristics and skills of students demanded in the 21st century, one of the skills required is creativity. The data shows that the creativity of students in schools is still relatively low. Learning design must be designed to be able to build student's creativity. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to build student creativity in determining pH route of natural indicator. The method used in this research is descriptive with DbR design. DbR consists of 4 stages, problem identification and analysis, development prototype, testing and implementation, and reflection. This research was conducted only at the limited trial stage to see the feasibility of the Learning Design using the PBL model to build student creativity. The instruments used in this study were internal feasibility test sheets, external feasibility test sheets, TCOF, and creativity observation sheets. The results showed that the learning design with the PBL model is categorized as very feasible based on internal, external, and TCOF feasibility tests to develop student creativity and student creativity is categorized very well through learning using the PBL model.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are part of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) that aid students in problem-solving. Teachers have a responsibility to cultivate these skills by employing suitable learning models. The RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain-Create) learning model offers an alternative approach for teachers to enhance student competencies. This study aimed to investigate the impact of a problem-solving-oriented RADEC approach through the colloidal topic on students' creative thinking skills. The research was conducted at a private high school in Cianjur Regency and involved 28 students from class XI. The pre-experimental method employed a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The findings revealed that this learning model effectively nurtured students' creative thinking skills. Students demonstrated significant improvements in various aspects of creative thinking, with percentages as follows: fluency (78.88%), flexibility (71.62%), elaboration (68.33%), originality (70.83%), and metaphorical thinking (61.11%). The pre-test and post-test scores indicated an increase in students' creative thinking skills, with an n-gain value of 0.5936, categorized as moderate. In summary, the problem-solving-oriented RADEC learning model proved effective in enhancing students' creative thinking skills in the context of colloidal material. This research has implications for teachers, urging them to consider implementing the RADEC model to foster the development of student's creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

Abstract

Atomic structure material is one of the chemistry topics that is abstract and complex. Learning topics that contain abstract and complex material requires high-level reasoning and thinking. This research aims to describe students' actual abilities in atomic structure material using an e-module based on the RADEC model. This research method is development research that adapts the Borg & Gall design. The subjects of this research were 31 students in the experimental class and 37 students in the control class. This research was conducted at one of the high schools in the city of Bandung. Students' abilities are measured through pretest questions and assignment of pretest questions. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and n-gain. This research showed that the actual competence of students in the experimental class had an n-gain of 0.58 and was in the medium category. In contrast, the actual competence of students in the control class had an n-gain of 0.29 and was in the low category. Thus, learning using e-modules based on the RADEC model can improve students' competence. The results of the student perception survey show that RADEC-based e-modules are very helpful in independent learning and completing assignments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' creativity through the C-R-E-A-T-E learning model in a blended system. Voltaic Cell was chosen as the material studied because the process of making Voltaic Cells can support the development of students' creativity. The research method used was Design Based Research (DbR). The research instrument used was a creativity observation sheet according to William's creativity indicator and an assessment sheet for students' creative products which included three main skills: creating, investigating, and problem-solving skills. The results of this study indicate that the step-by-step C-R-E-A-T-E learning model implemented through a blended system supported by Google Classroom can develop students' creativity, both in terms of creative processes and creative products. It was shown from the observation results of students' creativity on the indicators of fluency, flexibility, elaboration, originality, and evaluation each included in the very good category. In addition, the average score of students' creative product assessment is also in the very good category. These results indicate that the learning model is feasible to be applied in learning as an effort to develop student creativity. Keywords: students’ creativity, the C-R-E-A-T-E model, senior high school. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1673-1682
