Abstract

This study aimed to determine: 1) the effect of the principal's managerial ability on teacher competence; 2) The influence of teacher work culture on teacher competence; 3) The influence of the principal's managerial ability and teacher's work culture on teacher competence. This research was descriptive with a quantitative approach. The data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 71 respondents—statistical data processing using SPSS 17.0. The study results that: 1) The managerial ability of principals at Junior High Schools in Central Cilacap Subdistrict was generally in the answer always with quite high criteria. The hypothesis test results indicate that the principal's managerial ability positively affects teacher competence. It means that the higher the managerial ability of the principal, the greater the teacher’s competence; 2) The work culture of teachers in junior high schools in the Central Cilacap sub-district, in general, is in the frequent answers with quite high criteria. The hypothesis test results show that the teacher's work culture positively affects teacher competence. One means that the higher the teacher's work culture, the higher the teacher's competence; 3) The competence of teachers in junior high schools in Central Cilacap Subistrict is generally in the answer always with quite high criteria. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that the principal's managerial ability and teacher work culture positively affect teacher competence. It means that the higher the principal's managerial ability and the higher the teacher's work culture, the higher its competence.

Abstract

Education personnel are part of educational resources, tasked with carrying out administration, management, development, supervision, and technical services to support the educational process. The success of the learning process in an educational institution is born from good management so as to produce good educational services as well. SMAN 1 Tasikmalaya is the first public school that was established in the city of Tasikmalaya since 1956, has made a myriad of achievements both academically and non-academically. This is not only supported by professional teaching staff but also supported by educational staff. In this research that used a qualitative descriptive method, it was concluded that increasing employee work productivity through empowering the education staff at SMAN 1 Tasikmalaya was categorized as good, because most of the education staff had carried out empowerment efforts starting from awareness, capacity building (enabling) and empowering ( empowering) is indicated by the achievement of empowerment indicators, namely access, participation, control and equality. This empowerment is carried out through (1) developing and realizing a shared vision, namely the 3K "Characters, Kabisa, and Katarima"; (2) exemplary school principals; (3) Motivating and involving educational staff in educational and staffing workshops and seminars; (4) Improving and accelerating services in order to continue to produce excellent services in order to maintain credibility and trust from the public in order to produce good service quality and education quality.

Abstract

This research focuses on the problem of developing teachers' social competence in improving the learning process, this is motivated by various problems about the quality of teaching, especially at the early childhood education level. This research was conducted through descriptive methods with a qualitative approach, and technically is a case study research at Anandita Kindergarten, Klapanunggal sub-district, Bogor Regency. Through data collection techniques of interviews, observation and documentation, then a number of data are processed through steps: data display, data reduction and data analysis and supported by time triangulation, expert confirmation and repetition of the process. This research resulted in the following conclusions: (1) the social competence of teachers in improving the learning process at Anandita Kindergarten can be categorized as good, supported by efforts to develop the social competence of teachers by the Head of Kindergarten. (2) The obstacles that are still faced by teachers come from the weaknesses of school management, such as: weak learning support facilities, weak school budgets that have an impact on all sectors of financing, and management of cooperation and coordination between school parties and stakeholders such as the community and parents of students; (3) Strategies for developing teachers' social competencies at Anandita Kindergarten include: indirect direct coaching strategies from the head of Anandita Kindergarten, independent personal development of teachers, strategies for strengthening internal TK managerial, strategies for implementing certain innovations, strategies for strengthening internal cooperation, and strategies for strengthening external cooperation.

Abstract

Improving the quality of madrasah education is a strategic imperative in addressing the challenges of educational relevance, efficiency, and equity within Indonesia’s decentralized education system. This study aims to analyze the role of Madrasah-Based Management (MBM) in enhancing educational quality through case studies at three state madrasahs in Tasikmalaya Regency: Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs—Islamic Junior High School) Negeri Pamoyanan, MTs Negeri Singaparna, and MTs Negeri Sukamanah. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and examined using Miles and Huberman’s interactive analysis model. The findings reveal that the effectiveness of MBM is largely determined by transformational leadership, teacher capacity-building through continuous professional development, and active community involvement in educational decision-making. Among the three institutions, MTs Negeri Sukamanah demonstrates a more structured and responsive managerial approach, while MTs Pamoyanan and MTs Singaparna still struggle with financial limitations, insufficient human resources, and low public engagement. The study highlights that MBM is not merely an administrative model but a transformative strategy that requires the synergy of institutional autonomy, supportive policies, and meaningful partnerships with local communities. As a policy contribution, this research recommends strengthening madrasah leadership training, aligning curricula with local values, increasing performance-based funding, and expanding public education literacy as key foundations for sustainable quality improvement in Indonesia's madrasah system.

Abstract

Penilaian kinerja guru di SMPN 1 dan 2 Lakbok yang masih berada pada kategori “baik” (rata-rata 82), namun belum mencapai standar “sangat baik” (di atas 90) sesuai Perdirjen GTK No. 7607/B.B1/HK.03/2023. Hal ini menunjukkan perlunya peningkatan kinerja guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan: 1) Kepemimpinan manajerial Kepala Sekolah ditinjau dari aspek conceptual skill dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. 2) Kepemimpinan manajerial Kepala Sekolah ditinjau dari aspek Human Skill dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. 3 ) Kepemimpinan manajerial Kepala Sekolah ditinjau dari aspek Technical skill dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini analisis desain deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kepemimpinan manajerial Kepala Sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru ditinjau dari aspek conceptual, human, dan technical skill. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Informan meliputi Kepala Sekolah, Pengawas, Komite, dan Guru. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Kepemimpinan manajerial Kepala Sekolah ditinjau dari aspek conceptual skill efektif dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. 2) Kepemimpinan manajerial Kepala Sekolah ditinjau dari aspek Human Skill efektif dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. 3) Kepemimpinan manajerial Kepala Sekolah ditinjau dari aspek technical skill efektif dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru.

Abstract

Sumber Daya Manusia memiliki peran strategis dalam menentukan mutu dan efektivitas lembaga pendidikan. Di era digital, pemanfaatan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) menjadi salah satu strategi penting untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis optimalisasi penguasaan TIK oleh guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik di SMPN 2 Lakbok, Kabupaten Ciamis. Fokus penelitian mencakup tiga aspek: perencanaan pembelajaran, proses pembelajaran, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Informan terdiri dari guru, kepala sekolah, dan pengawas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan TIK oleh guru dalam perencanaan pembelajaran sudah baik, namun pemilihan media pembelajaran perlu ditingkatkan. Dalam proses pembelajaran, TIK terbukti meningkatkan motivasi siswa, tetapi integrasi antara media dan metode pembelajaran masih perlu disesuaikan. Sementara itu, dalam evaluasi pembelajaran, penggunaan TIK juga memberi dampak positif terhadap motivasi belajar, meskipun guru masih perlu meningkatkan keterampilan pengembangan diri agar mampu mengikuti perkembangan teknologi secara berkelanjutan.
