Abstract

Today the world of social media has immersed in the world of education and influencing the world of the students’ activities. It is inevitable that students in many levels of education have been using social media in their life either as students or as interactants in the certain community. Therefore, it is interesting to see the existence of social media among the students. In this study, the researchers highlight the use of social media among the students in the university. This research applied a qualitative research design taking 60 students of English in the universities in Makassar. The data of this research were collected by employing a survey of Google Form and analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The result of the research shows that the English students in the universities in Makassar gave their positive perceptions about the use of social media. The informants has been using social media in their daily life and also nowadays has applied the social media as a tool of learning English. Some advantages and strategies in using social media in learning English were displayed in this study. Findings from this study will become important input for students themselves in the university context and also as beneficial information among the university practitioners in order to make use the social media in the university not only as communication tool but also as learning and teaching tools.

Abstract

Direct regional head elections can be said to be one of the real forms of implementing regional autonomy, where the people can directly elect the leaders they want directly. This study tries to describe how the level of community political participation is related to the election of the Regent and Deputy Regent as well as the empty box in holding the simultaneous local elections in 2024. This study tries to describe the level of political participation of the community in a substantial and procedural manner through a review of normative literature studies and immediately goes down to see how the residents' enthusiasm for the 2024 simultaneous regional elections and interviewed several residents regarding how they are prepared to face the simultaneous regional elections in the future. It turned out that the formal procedural implementation that went well was not in line with the substantive democracy to be achieved. Democracy will be based on the principle of equality in the sense that every human being is equal; therefore there is no specialization of any particular group or assumption that one is more honorable than another. Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas kewirausahaan pelaku usaha warung kopi (warkop) di Kota Makassar melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan berbasis metode 6M (Man, Money, Material, Method, Machine, Market) yang diintegrasikan dengan konsep MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). Dua mitra utama, Warkop Van Djoel dan Warkop Dg Sija, dipilih karena memiliki potensi bisnis kuat tetapi belum mengoptimalkan peluang pelayanan MICE skala kecil. Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan manajemen usaha berbasis 6M, penguatan keterampilan pengelolaan MICE, pelatihan pemasaran digital, pendampingan teknis, serta implementasi teknologi sederhana untuk efisiensi operasional. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek manajerial, pencatatan keuangan digital, penyusunan SOP event, pengembangan menu MICE, penggunaan media sosial, serta penguatan identitas merek. Program ini mampu mendorong transformasi warkop tradisional menjadi ruang ekonomi kreatif multifungsi yang adaptif, kompetitif, dan berkelanjutan.
