Abstract

This research is conducted to determine modesty which is used by children whose ten years on elementary school. The purpose of this research to describe modesty in a speech act ruled a school age child base and the implication of Indonesian learning. This research used descriptive qualitative design. The data source of this research was a ten years boy who is in elementary school. The data of this research was in modesty of a speech act ruled by the subject. The result show the modesty of a speech act by the child in form of speech, was namely direct speech and indirect speech. Modesty in direct speech immediately was done by five ways, that is a direct command order by linguist, command of request, command of supply, orders conditional, and direct orders with the argument. The modesty indirect command doing by special way which was called mode. There were nine modes which were found in this research, namely declare inability, inform, declare fact, supposition, game, complain, involving the third person, ask, and refusal. The son use context, namely place, time, the third people, events, and the weather. Beside that, the son also used of markers modesty “tolong”, “dek”, and “kita”. This research result can be information for the elementary Indonesian teacher to know development of children language as well as to learn the speech act of the children and modesty of in a speech act that son doing.Key words : modesty, speech act, command, mode, context

Abstract

The problem in this research is the language from public service  Ad and its implication for the the learning of persuasion writing at SMP. This research has a purpose to describe language in public service Ad masyarakat such as, the use of spelling, and the effectiveness of sentence, and then the implication for the learning of persuasion writing at SMP. The research design which is used is qualitative descriptive, that is the procedure of problem solving by  explaining the research objective based on the facts which is happening. The data source in this research is the public service Ad which is at the jl. Zainal abiding pagar alam kedaton, Bandar lampung. Form the result of observation, this research get eleven public service Ads from the eight public service Ads with the different topic and theme. From the result of this research, there are eleven public services Ads in the Jl. Zainal Abidin Pagar Alam, Kedaton, Bandar Lampung which has interesting phenomenom in the using of spelling especially in the using of  punctuation (.), (,) and the use of capital words. Beside of that diction that  is used in the public service Ad at the jl zainal abiding pagar alam, kedaton Bandar lampung, there are seven public servis Ads which means connotation and there are five which means denotation, and the effectiveness sentence in the public service Ad put on the similarity between the kind of sentence which is used and the message that will be delivered.Key words : public service, language public services, public service ads

Abstract

Main problem which occured in this reaserch is using spelling for the students’ thesis of Lampung University in teacher training and education faculty of history education study program in 2012 and successfully to be conducted. The purpose of  reasearch is to describe about what is right and error in using spelling for the students’ thesis of Lampung University in teacher training and education faculty of history education study program in 2012. The reasercher used qualitative describing method in collecting the data. The sources in this reaserch is the students’ thesis of teacher training and education faculty of history study program for March period in 2012, and amounted about nine papers. Data was gained by documentary technique which held by the researcher in several weeks. In analyzing, data went to the theories of Miles and Huberman which stated by three steps are (1) reduction, (2) application, and (3) conclusion or verification. The result of this research told about 5.890 people or 93% was right in using spelling for their thesis and 429 others or 7% was still error in the written of theirs. In using spelling, it must be constructed by capital and italic letters, derivation words, suffix –di, numbering and count, using full-stop, and comma.Key Words: spelling, using the letter, writing the word, and panctuation.
