Abstract

The iles-iles is an umber plant having a high economic potential. This plant can only grow in tropical and subtropical areas. This study aims to evaluating the accuracy of the page model in estimating the moisture ratio of the iles-iles in the form of slice during the thin layer drying process. This research uses 450C and 550C drying temperature as well as the thickness of iles-iles 1,0 cm and 0,5 cm. Drying air velocity was used at 1,0 m/s. The observation parameters used on this study were the weight of the sample and the drying time. Results of this study are the water-level drop pattern, moisture ratio drop pattern, the value of page model drying, and page model evaluations. Those results describe that the relation between the predictive value and the observation value of moisture ratio create regression equations without the intersept with R2 approaching value. Consequently, the acquired page model is preferred to give partial predictions of iles-iles. Meanwhile the R2 value is 0.998, the chi-squared, value is 5.202x102, and the RMSE value is. The concise of R2, Chi-Squared, and RMSE with the previous research had relatively small value that indicated that a page model drying performance on the study was also quite good

Abstract

Direct seeder is are a planting method that is used with a direct planting system using tools. However, the atabela that is used by the community in general still has problems such as the absence of a channel opening so that the seeds that fall are not in the specified channel, the absence of a ground leveler so that the land is inundated with water. The above constraints cause the growth and maintenance of rice that is not optimal. The design of atabela is expected to simplify the process of planting rice seeds by using simple technology to save time and effort. The part of the tool developed is that the groove opener functions as a place for the seeds to fall, the ground leveler functions to flatten the soil before the seeds are dropped and the hole coverings are used as a barrier to fall seeds where they are not wanted. The test results show that the parts of the tool are functioning properly, where the results obtained are 25 cm side spacing, 25-50 cm future spacing, 9-15 seeds yielding seeds and regularity of seeds entering the holes or grooves that have been made.

Abstract

Abstrak. Program kosabangsa ini bermitra dengan masyarakat kelompok tani sagu yang berlokasi di Distrik Masni Kabupaten Manokwari, Provinsi Papua Barat.  Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah: (1) kapasitas produksi rendah baik kuantitas maupun kualitas, (2) produk hanya berupa pati basah, (3) pengelolaan usaha masih dilakukan secara kekeluargaan dan (4) pemasaran masih terbatas pada distrik setempat.  Program yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan mitra tersebut yaitu (1) peningkatan kapasitas produksi, (2) diversifikasi produk, (3) peningkatan pengetahuan tentang manajemen usaha dan (4) perluasan promosi pasar.  Metode yang digunakan adalah introduksi mesin-mesin pengolahan sagu dan dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan dan pendampingan pengoperasian mesin tersebut, pelatihan manajemen usaha dan pelatihan pengemasan produk.  Hasil yang dicapai dari program ini adalah: (1) mitra memiliki aset baru berupa satu paket mesin pengolahan sagu yang terdiri dari mesin parut sagu, mesin ekstraksi pati sagu, mesin penggiling pati sagu, alat pengering bertenaga surya serta perangkat pendukung yaitu bangunan tempat pengolahan, pompa air dan bak pengendapan pati, (2) mitra beralih dari metode pengolahan sagu secara tradisional ke pengolahan mekanis, (3) produk mitra tidak hanya pati basah tapi juga pati kering dan (4) terjadi peningkatan produksi pati basah dari 318 kg/bulan menjadi 954 kg. Kata kunci: distrik masni, ekstraksi pati sagu, mesin pengolahan sagu, parut sagu
