Abstract

Indonesia is a large country with many spreading archipelagos. The condition makes Indonesia a potential country in maritime sectors. The potential condition establish maritime technology is a topic that has begun to interest many researches. The strong desire of researcher will also get support from the many sources of citations that are now appearing and can be used as references. Even though it has a wide area of expertise, the researches concerning maritime technology is very little at present. This research aims to collect the trends of maritime technology research in Indonesia by performing bibliometric analysis from scientific papers indexed by partly free scholarly database named Dimension. This research analyzes the numbers of document published, the most cited papers, and the productivity of maritime researchers in specific area of maritime technology. Some keywords focused on this researched were minned by clustering using VOSviewer. As the result, this study hopefully provide an overview of current research on maritime technology in Indonesia and provide the right direction for researchers with maritime technology research interest.

Abstract

School administration assignments is an important part of an education management system in school and a common complicated work in every start of education year especially for boarding-type schools. A School committee have to prepare many things related to students and teachers necessity, teachings materials, dormitories equipment and others in limitation of time. The lack of preparation time make some assignment can not fulfilled or delivered on determination time. In this research, not only many cases will be identified from teachers and schools committee related to effectiveness in maximizing their time to finish their assignments, but also SWOT analysis as a strategic planning and management technique usually used to help a person or organization identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats will be conducted in this area. SWOT analysis will be combine with project management tool to organize the teachers and school committee assignments. This paper supposed to explore many advantages from project management tool that can generate new perspective in managing complicated administration works. The exploration is carried out using the SWOT analysis method to school administrative management. And finally, this papers can proposed a new assignment model and framework in boarding school type to increase their work effectiveness and reduce wasted time.

Abstract

The existence of a practical learning model is a requirement for prospective merchant marine students in an effort to develop their experience dealing directly with the world of work. Merchant Marine Polytechnic Malahayati requires cadets to carry out Onboard Training (Prala) in their educational syllabus. However, the role of educational institutions in monitoring the activities of cadets when practicing outside the campus is currently a bit neglected. This can be caused by several factors, including the absence of tools/or instruments that can monitor the activities of cadets directly. Previous research on the development of a mobile-based application prototype to monitor the performance of cadets in Prala activities became one of the instruments for improving the education sector. This follow-up research uses quantitative methods and R&D research method to approach the solution to the problems obtained based on the implementation objectives. The final goal of the research is the availability of an impact analysis from the information database on the application of digitizing prala activities through a mobile-based application prototype. The results of this analysis can be used by policy makers at the Malahayati Poytechnic of Merchant Marine in developing a better education monitoring system outside the collage in the future.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of gamification on improving students’ computational thinking skills and engagement in learning. The main problem addressed is the limited effectiveness of traditional learning approaches in training students to solve problems systematically and logically, particularly in relation to the four elements of computational thinking: decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithm design. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design, involving more than 30 elementary and middle school students. The learning media used were two mobile-based games, RodoCodo and AlgoRun, which served as instruments to introduce computational thinking concepts. The results showed an improvement of up to 75% in students’ computational thinking abilities after the gamification intervention, along with higher engagement during the learning process. This study concludes that gamification has strong potential as an effective strategy to enhance students’ problem-solving skills, although further research with a broader scope of respondents and variables is still required.ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi pengaruh gamifikasi terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir komputasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Persoalan yang diangkat adalah masih rendahnya efektivitas pembelajaran tradisional dalam melatih siswa memecahkan masalah secara sistematis dan logis, terutama terkait empat elemen berpikir komputasi, yaitu dekomposisi, pengenalan pola, abstraksi, dan perancangan algoritma. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group, serta melibatkan lebih dari 30 siswa sekolah dasar dan menengah. Media pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah dua permainan berbasis mobile, yaitu RodoCodo dan AlgoRun, yang berfungsi sebagai instrumen pengenalan konsep berpikir komputasi. Hasil riset menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir komputasi siswa hingga 75% setelah intervensi dengan gamifikasi, serta meningkatnya keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah gamifikasi berpotensi menjadi strategi efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir komputasi siswa, meskipun penelitian ini masih bersifat awal sehingga perlu dikembangkan lebih lanjut dengan cakupan responden dan variabel yang lebih luas.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology demands continuous innovation of using artificial intelligent in aspect of education, social and economics is very intense and massive. Chatbot as the one kind the artificial intelligence is taking a big part in helping customer getting their needs and reduce the company reduce the worker cost. In applications in the educational sector, chatbot applications are used as intermediaries to improve students' abilities in various aspects such as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) learning materials. However, the existence of chatbots does not always provide convenience or direct impact because non-technical problems can arise from the school, students or education processes. This study offers an overview on chatbots in terms of definition, usage, advantages and their evolution from the theory which triggered these systems to current implementation using the some available libraries in Javascript. Javascript as one of the popular programming languages used today has many libraries such as Botpress, Microsoft Bot Framework, Botkit and others which can be used to design, develop and implement chatbot applications to help the learning process. Finally, This research is trying to provide valuable insights and to find the right chatbot application model to be used in ai chatbot application development and understand the user's condition directly when interacting.
